We were scolded for not having the suite door closed at all times, suggesting "bugs" got inside (weather was nice and we're entitled to a breeze); we were told we were "partying" as some of our very tidied up garbage we left behind included alcohol cans (no party was had); there was zero signage saying you could not smoke *outside* the building yet got fined for that; there was no rule book yet many rules were shared *after our stay. There was no damage, and there were no warnings of any violations during our 2-night stay. Make sure to pack your own food as everything, literally everything closes by 9:30pm. We arrived just after 9pm and had to eat food rations from our car. It's a pretty entitled community.

Floors are a nice wood-like finish with area rugs so, your allergies aren't assaulted by allergens that live in carpets. My favourite room is the bathroom. Floor to ceiling gleaming glossy white subway tiles and a nice calming pic over a stand alone bathtub. Need I say more? Wow, wow, wow!

All I can say, it was probable tim for this change. This will be taken over my Choice Hotel group (Comfort inn, quality inn, etc). You can see the potential of this estate, but yes, with years, they did nto keep up with the needed maintenance and lots of things getting broken or rotten. Our room was ok, except for the more than old sofa that kept itching my skin and making me cough. And when I opeend it, omg, did not want to sleep in it (pictures). Found an old cot bed outside the room and took it. The personel was really nice though. But this is a site for families and groups. We stayed at the lodge 1, in one of the suites. I would not call this a suite, but hey... I appreciated the inner patio with view on the lake. This was perfect to just sleep in, but I wouldn,t stay here for a logn run. Again, liek I said, it might all change with new ownership. Truly, so much potential...

Also poor water supply, sometimes very little water. No way could I have a shower this morning. Yesterday I didn't have hot water. Yes it got fixed but I had to leave for the conference without a shower on a hot day. The carpet is well worn and the rooms smell stale. The air conditioner works well, like a jet plane. The proximity is about a few minutes drive, so this was ideal (not entirely sure what to expect). After booking through their website, I received a call from the owner Michael whom I cannot say enough about. His thoroughness with parking, entry, etc was above and beyond. Upon getting to the room I was in awe -- I've stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years and the room was among the best ever. The cleanliness, attention to details, snacks, fridge, the shower (love!). This was exactly the type of place you want to come back to (especially after a very trying time). I had only booked one night at the time because I wasn't sure how long we'd be in Picton and Michael was beyond accommodating when I requested (and hoped!) I could extend the stay. My mom was eventually moved to hospice (out of Picton), but Michael, you, your team and your accommodations made one of the most difficult times of my life a little bit more bearable and I cannot thank you enough. Without question I would recommend staying here -- regardless of the reason (I hope it's not for mine ...) but you will not be disappointed. Thank you again for everything.
