Jack is a musical talented, I really appreciated what he taught me from his guitar lessons. I had some guitar experience from a class I took in highschool, and mostly self-learned thereafter. Jackwind has helped me to take it to the next level, an advanced lesson that I have never gotten in the past. He is not just a great teacher, but he also made learning enjoyable and fun! I would only recommend this guy for beginners who want to start learning from basic fundamentals in music. Asked before making appointment to check if he can teach slide guitar which he confidently said yes to, but when he played slide guitar it was just bunch of rubbish. Couldn't even get his fingers on the strings correctly to mute out the junk sound. Didn't even know how to play Robert Johnson. Wasted my money. Would not recommend to intermediate-advanced players as he would teach stuff you already know. In fact, use internet you'll learn more. read more

I already know how to play guitar in general for years and always wanted to expand my skill and learn more into advance level. then I found his website from google and check his videos of playing some fingerstyle guitar, and jazz tune on youtube. I was did some research to find a credible Guitar Teacher and able to help my future college preparation , as I want to be major in music as well. He graduated from Musicians Institute hollywood and was recommend me to have it as one of my few list. so besides learning tons of guitar technique scales, reading, improvisations, etc from flat picking to fingerstyle. He utilize music theory and harmony to better understanding the tune or songs that I working with. Mr. jack often explained to me that I should able develop chords/scale, or even create different voicing or different position, and to better understand the fingerboard. is a short make it anything possible and sounding good. so anyway I am so grateful I was able to find him, he is true well rounded and he's technique and musicianship are so advanced. Choosing the right guitar teacher is the huge key for becoming the great guitar player. I met Jackwind few years back and had some private lessons from him. Until Jackwind helped me, I had no idea how to use the scale. I was merely memorizing the scale, and kept practicing it without understanding how to use it. A huge breakthrough came shortly after the few lessons. Jackwind explained the music in a very simple way that anyone without the music background can understand. I've been studying with Jackwind for over six months now and have learned a lot of effective tools for my musicianship as it pertains to my songwriting. Jackwind understands that songwriters need an efficient set of tools that aid in the process of writing songs and thus he's tailored his teaching to those essentials for optimizing my songwriter's angle for writing and playing. For example, beyond first position chords, every chord shape he's taught me have all been movable chords. In other words he's taught me shapes that can be played anywhere along the neck and I'm not talking standard barre chords here I'm talking things like diminished chords as triads or sevenths and shapes for 6ths, 9ths and 6/9 chords. This saves you a lot of time not having to learn otherwise more varied and complicated fingerings. And he's taught me where these chords are useful in songwriting as substitutions for simpler chords when you want that something different or special sound. Okay, not to totally lose a beginner reading this, the bigger point is that Jackwind knows his stuff and knows how to make your playing effort highly impactful and simplified at the same time if that's how you need it. His very high skill level makes him great for advanced players and by his easy way of imparting skills I'd say great for total beginners too. I'm looking forward to continuing to learn with him and we've even started incorporating keyboard instruction as well. He's very talented and an exceptional player and writer himself. I found Jack on the internet. I was a lttle hesitant at first because it was located area his live-in studio. However, after meeting him, it was a very comfortable experience. He is very knowledgeable and able to cater his teaching style according to the needs of the student. For me, i was interested in worship and he helped me learn more chords and build up my rhythm. I also feel like he's very flexible which is really great. Since i kind of had some prior experience, i can't really say how it would been for a complete beginner. However, make sure to voice your opinions and ask for changes in teaching depending on your needs. One aspect of guitar learning is to always practice because u could lose what you learn very quickly when you're not exercising your hand coordination. Stick to the lessons for at least 6 months for signs of progress and you will not be disappointed. I would have continued if it weren't for my busy schedule so i highly reccomend him. read more

Why didn't I start sooner? Jackwin is a multi talented music instructor. Never knew that I could play a full song without reading note by note. His teaching method is far different from what I have experienced in the past. I have a much better understanding of music, instrument and melody learning from him (less than 4 months) than a decade of playing organ. I am currently taking piano lesson and it has been a ton of fun struggle (I can use more practice time) and enjoyment. He pushes me to be more articulate with the instrument rather than following a boring music pattern. He is able to bring the best out of my ability and challenge me in the area that I struggle most. I started playing guitar at the age of 10, but was always on and off. I focused more on just learning songs, but realized that the lack of theory knowledge plateaued my progress. That's when I decided to learn guitar theory and found Jackwind. Took lessons with Jackwind for about half a year. The guitar theory that he taught me has helped tremendously with being an overall better musician. Although I never got to learn guitar techniques from him, the theory that I learned is already enough to get me through songs I have little knowledge of. Learning from him also helped me to bring out my creative side and change up chords progressions, riffs, and solos based on what I think is good. He is also very experience with jazz. My experiences learning guitar with mr jack has been always exciting and fun, he push me practice and learn to next level. Never thought my self would be able to read music at this age lol.
