I have consulted with Dr. Tauber on three occasions concerning medical report support for several federal workers' compensation issues. The first time, Dr. Tauber issued a report based upon objective nerve conduction studies that resulted in my being awarded some $60,000 or more for neuropathies in my upper and lower extremities. The second time, Dr. Tauber issued a causation report that supported a successful claim for a back injury, which are extremely difficult to get in the federal workers compensation system. The third time was in 2022, when Dr. Tauber wrote an excellent report that noted errors in the Department of Labor's medical consultant's report, denoting that he failed to properly utilize the A.M.A. Guides to Permanent Impairment, 6th Ed., and assigned me a more accurate rating. This claim - while still in appeal status - will result in between a $135,000 and $185,000 permanent diability award. Dr. Tauber is clearly patient oriented and worth a visit. I'm even considering having him as my attending orthopedic surgeon for treatment of non-work related orthopedic issues. However, this is not presently feasible as I'm in China right now. I will pursue this issue with his staff when I return to the U.S. Dr. Tauber is un- deserving of the negative reviews posted on this webite. read more

Two hour waiting for the most horrifying experience. Dr. Tauber is VERY aggressive, yelled at me for "not listening" when I questioned his "you need surgery" without even taking a look at my MRI. He threw big words at me and when I asked him what it means, he was condescending and even went as far as telling me to "do my research". My gut feeling told me to run. And run out the door I did... in tears. I talked to my doctor about Dr. Tauber's "quick to jump to surgery" approach, confirming my suspicion. Even the "conservative care before resorting to surgery" is set up for failure since Dr. Tauber does not do the usual procedure that is less painful and works. Oh he only does the really super expensive procedure -- that I found out later is very painful and lower success rate. And by the way, "if" only that fails does he do surgery. My advice: stay away from this office unless you have any desire to be used at the expense of your well-being. read more

This was my first time visiting Dr. Tauber's office. Let me get the one negative thing out the way first but it doesn't effect my rating. That place is HUGE!! I parked on the complete opposite side of his office because I had NO clue where to go. After about 20 hallways and being lost for 10 min. I finally ended up in his office. The lady at the front desk, in his office, was awesome and very personable. They are really down to earth in there and make you feel very comfortable. After about 10 mins, Dr. Tauber took a look at my injuries and was straight to the point. I had a few x-rays done, he told a few jokes, was VERY informative and wrote me up to have a CT scan & MRI on my chest and shoulder. He offered me a recommendation on a physical therapist so hopefully she is as awesome as he is! I will definitely be going back to Dr. Tauber for any of my medical needs. In August 2015 I needed a doctors note to postpone a flight. A friend recommended Dr. Jacob E. Tauber. I visited him on August 20th 2015. I told him what I needed and he said that this would not be a problem and it would cost me $750 in cash, which I paid. He wrote me note and said "what if I throw in a Vicodin prescription?" I still have the full bottle to this day because I am allergic to Vicodin. Recently I've been the target of a fraudulent collection scam by Dr. Tauber, claiming I would owe him over $1,000. Apparently this "doctor" was investigated by the FBI for a kick-back scheme. Just google Jacob E Tauber md FBI and see for yourself. That his man still has a license is beyond me. I am Dr. Tauber's patient at the Beverly Hills office. He is an intelligent, engaging person and brilliant orthopedic surgeon, with a delightful sense of humor. The office staff is courteous and professional, always helpful with the required documentation. If you are uncomfortable with big words, have problems with acculturation or emotionally liable, bring a dictionary and take your Xanax. I sincerely wish that we would have more doctors like Dr. Tauber. read more

Terrible communication by front desk. I made an appointment at 230 and its 316. It's not so much the waiting. It's the lack of communication only for the doctor to see you for 2 and half minutes. Written 5 weeks post surgery: I feel like royalty because Dr. Tauber is the Leonardo da Vinci of surgeons. Not only is the knee pain free but a month later is healed and shows his work with the smallest incision possible that has joined perfectly and looks beautiful. I'm grateful for the many fun appointments over a 7 year period in a cheerful and uplifting atmosphere that Dr. Tauber and his staff provide. I have been dealing with severe sciatica nerve pain for 5 months, 24/7. I cannot sit, stand for more than 10-15min, cannot feed my baby girl, I'm in strong pain any movement I make. Seen Dr. Tauber twice, one hour wait each time. First time he talked endlessly about his daughter (a proud dad) while I was sitting in severe pain, second time he spent about one single minute with me, one minute! ...simply told me I need to go see a pain specialist. I spent two hours on the road and one hour wait to see him, and he is the least caring doctor that I have met, unwilling to take any questions or provide any answer. He was in such a rush that the moment he walked in he was as short as he can be, all he wanted to do was shake my hand and send me out the door. Both times he avoided my question about what the cause might have been, when asked again, he said it could be anything. He also avoided to discuss the treatment. When I asked why I have pain in both legs he said he didn't know. I don't see the purpose of seeing this doctor at all! I was only here because I was referred to him. I suppose his patients are dealing with some level of pain, more or less, please find someone who is sincere and who actually cares and has sympathy! Last of all, to the doctor- if you read this: I'm a mother with a 5 months old, my pain limits my time and activity with her, I left my baby home with a help and drove myself in pain far enough to see you, hoping that you could have my questions answered and help me to find a solution, so I can be a happy parent like you and spend more quality time with my baby. If your daughter was in severe pain for so long, I bet you would be devastated. My visit was literally a single minute. You could simply tell me over the phone to go see a pain specialist, instead of having me come for an office visit, I don't see any other reason for the office visit besides profit generating for you. dr tauber is awesome,his staff is awesome,and like larry h parker he fights for you and wins.i'm having my rt knee totally replaced hopefully right after xmas,it was denied and he had an automatic appeal file with the orginal request which saved me a lot of down time.he appealed on 9/24/and it was approved on 10/27/14 so he saved a lot of time by doing the right thing .i'm so happy my dr reffered me to him is has a great bedside manner and makes you feel specialat all times.god bless him for caring for his patients.. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Tauber's for 15 years. When I was a teenager I had an accident requiring orthoscopic knee surgery on both knees. This was a workers comp case that was denying that I even had a problem. He got me the medical care I desperately needed & I went on with my life. 15 years later I came back because my right knee was giving me major issues and I had orthoscopic knee surgery in February and again all went perfectly. In June of that year I woke up with horrible neck pain & partial paralysis going down my right side. Even though I had only seen Dr. Tauber for knee issues, I had such faith in him, I went for my neck & was sent for an emergency MRI, resulting in emergency anterior cervical spinal surgery a few weeks later. I mention this b/c not only did Dr. Tauber send me to a specialist but he followed up with me even though he wasn't performing my surgery, to insure I received the best care. I have seen Dr. Tauber for over 15 years for various orthopedic needs arising from numerous sporting activities. He is extremely knowledgeable and efficient - able to diagnose problems with uncommon speed and accuracy. He also has always done what is necessary to confirm his diagnosis. He has always been very conservative using treatments such as physical therapy to full effect before considering a more radical approach such as surgery as last resort. About 8 years ago I tore an MCL in my knee skiing, a knee which already looked like the surface or the moon with arthritis and bones spurs. Dr. Tauber performed arthroscopic surgery and the results have been excellent - walking the next day and still functioning well today. Dr. Tauber is a brilliant and caring person and an amazing surgeon by my experience and by reputation - a rare combination. read more

If you want the best in the field, Dr Tauber is it. Like anything in life, the best comes with a price. Dr Tauber is a very sought after orthopedic and is very busy. I have seen other orthos and there is no one in the office. Few staff members and no wait...Dr Tauber's office is full. And yes, I waited. Like the best restaurant in L.A, you wait. Or you can eat at a chain restaurant. I am most interested in my shoulder injury and if I have to wait for the best doctor, I'll wait. I went to 3 other specialists and all 3 wanted to do surgery. Dr tauber took 30 seconds to look over my MRI's...he asked me if I was ok with trying 6 months of intense rehab....he advised me that surgery would fix the issue 100%, but years down the line, there may be scar tissue from surgery, and the possibility of future problems, along with more pain. I chose rehab and have never looked back! Dr Tauber sees me about every 6 months for a follow up and checks the motion, etc. Looking back, I feel the other doctors only offered surgery for their own financial gain. Having a top rated and skilled doctor take 3 minutes with me, is better than a less skilled doctor spending 30 minutes with me!!! Thank you Dr Tauber!!! read more
