The convenience is all for UCLA. They will charge you for an in-office visit. Additionally, if the video call is 5 minutes, they will also use a 20-29 minute in office visit code, which is their minimum charge per the billing rep. Potentially understandable if a semi-complex medical question and semi-complex medical files. That means if you have an HDHP that is $500 for a 5min phone call to ask if a common medication may be right for you. I emailed to ask for advice and they say, oh ok, let's get a video appointment. Did I know I will be charged? Yes. Did I think it would be more like $200? Yes. Was it? No. No matter how many times I asked them if this was correct after I got the bill. Did I pay it? Unfortunately, yes. Lesson learned and hopefully this review is a lesson for UCLA office to make it very clear to advise patients that a Video Visit will be charged as an in-office visit. At least offer the cheaper phone call consult. Also, 500 for an in office visit is also exorbitant. Anyways... PS. Also, beware of hidden charges for an annual visit. They tried to charge $100 for a portion of the annual screening that should havr been covered under preventive care or something they did not do (extra consultation). They force you to spend an hour with billing to get them to waive it and you have to research and explain why they made a mistake.

I explained that I had reached an overwhelming level of stress and felt that temporary time away from one of the major stressors in my life was necessary. After years of taking medications that were recommended to me, I was trying to communicate that medication alone was not what I needed at that moment. I even told him I was willing to attend any classes, therapy, meetings, or stress-management programs required during the leave. Instead of feeling heard, I felt judged and dismissed. Dr. Amanatkar made a comment insinuating that time off was not simply for "sitting in bed and being on the phone." I never suggested that was my intention, and considering I had just expressed my willingness to actively participate in treatment during leave, I found the comment extremely condescending and completely out of line. Mental health patients should not be made to feel lazy, guilty, or ashamed for asking for help. I expected compassion and an actual conversation about what I felt I needed--not assumptions about how I would spend my time. This interaction set back my mental health journey, destroyed the trust I had built with this provider over the years, and has unfortunately made me question the level of support I can expect from the mental health team at Kaiser Water Ridge. If you are under his care, I would strongly encourage you to advocate for yourself and pay attention to whether you genuinely feel heard. After years of working with him, one inappropriate and dismissive interaction was enough for me to know that I could no longer feel comfortable receiving mental health care from him.

The appointment was for my dad, who cannot speak English, so I had to accompany him. There was a misunderstanding, and my dad went to a medical office in a different city. When I explained the situation to the front office staff, she was very accommodating. My dad was able to rush over to the Culver City office and see the doctor. A little background about my dad: he has been suffering from chest pain for three years. He has visited countless doctors and has completed countless testings. However, NO DOCTOR was able to find any abnormalities. One of his doctors diagnosed him with depression and told my dad that he's just suffering anxiety attacks!!! Now my dad is medically diagnosed as depressed because he's been having chest pains!!! WTH?!?! Anyway, Dr. Ahn went through my dad's symptoms and past medical history by spending ample amount of time with him. I was very impressed with her thoroughness. Btw, she is very young, attractive, and obviously extremely intelligent. She ordered another lab tests and EKG. Fortunately, she was able to find irregularities in his heartbeat!!! Finally!!! After 3 years of pain and frustration, we have a breakthrough!!!! Thank the Lord! God has answered our family's prayers. Dr. Ahn referred my dad to a cardiologist to conduct additional tests. I am truly grateful for everyone at this office for their effectiveness and flexibility. In a perfect world, all doctor's appointments will be this pleasant.

She called it pretty quick and got me on medication immediately and because of that, my shingles experience was so, *so* much less painful than it could have been. That's what I want in a doctor. She's quiet and studious and clearly knows what she's talking about. The office staff are lovely and the nurses/technicians pretty funny.
