I have selected 6 agencies in Broken Arrow to compete. I'm looking for three things: 1. An insurance company that has a good rating by Consumer Reports and or J.D. Powers 2. A local agent that actually shows up for work and can be reached by phone when their assistance is needed and 3. Better rates. Unfortunately, this Farmers Insurance - Stacey Ray agency is the first causality of my selection process. Yesterday I visited the office complex where their suite is located. Lights were on and a small sign hanging on the door handle, proclaimed that they were open. Door handle didn't budge. Locked. I knocked; no answer. 2nd try. Today same routine, nobody at the office, and no indication when they may return. They have many 5-star reviews on Google. I would have liked to give them a try. Thank you, but I already have an agent that is difficult to reach. This agency failed. Five more to go. Follow along for some interesting insight and observations as I whittle the list down. Spike's inessential Commentary and Observations: There is an abundance of insurance agents in the Broken Arrow market. Several representing the same company are located only a few miles from each other. Most are small one-man operations, located in costly offices that are usually vacant. The insurance agent industry must be a very lucrative business with high commissions. Well paying and ample leisure time to keep the golf game sharp and provide an annual vacation to St. Barts, at your expense, hidden in your insurance rate. It may be easier to find an honest politician, than a hard-working insurance agent. The search continues......

Within one month I received a bill for almost double the agreed upon amount. JJ's office would not honor the original quote and could only say "sorry, there was a mistake in the system". Now I am stuck with an insurance bill that I can't afford & scrambling to find a new policy before auto-billing hits.
