The front desk worker Ocean is costing their own LMTs money. I called Elk Rock Wellness for the…read morefirst time to book a specific modality--neuromuscular trigger point therapy (and potentially deep tissue)--for an upcoming Saturday. What followed was one of the most unprofessional and confusing front-desk interactions I have ever experienced. The receptionist was completely unfamiliar with standard massage terminology. She didn't know what neuromuscular therapy was, stumbled over "trigger point," and didn't seem to understand that they are closely related modalities. Despite representing a large clinic with numerous LMTs, she could not tell me if any therapist on staff specialized in this work, nor could she confirm schedule availability for the upcoming Saturday. Her solution was to tell me she "might" call me back the next day after checking. Asking a potential new client to wait over 24 hours just to find out if a clinic is even capable of performing a requested service is entirely unacceptable. When I explained that I would have to take my business elsewhere if basic scheduling and modality questions couldn't be answered, she seemed completely baffled. What kills me is that her lack of training directly hurts the therapists working there. By being completely unable to sell their services or book a basic appointment, she essentially reached right into an LMT's pocket and snatched a $120 session away from them. I will be taking my business to a clinic that actually understands basic massage therapy terminology and values a client's time. Avoid this place unless you already have a direct line to a specific therapist, because the front desk is actively driving new business out the door.

Dr Hong is the most caring, funny, competent, knowledgeable person I hope to ever know. He has…read morehelped me through the journey of my recovery from over irritating my left sciatica nerve. Modern western medicine was not helping, so turned to Dr. Hong for help. And help he has. I seem to be well on the road to recovery thanks to his skills at using acupuncture and positive thinking. His treatments have helped my body heal it's self western medicine was not helping at all. It hasn't happened overnight. If someone claims that, be very skeptical about their claims. It takes the cooperation of patient and care provider. Something we westerners need to learn. Not always easy. But with his guidance and skills, I believe I will stay healthy. Highly recommend his treatments and skills.

Oregon Acupuncture Center has it's own building, parking lot, and easy street parking in front…read more It's easily accessible on the ground floor, with no elevations.... easy access for strollers and wheelchairs, and those of us hobbling around in need of body repair. The reception area is huge, and there's many treatment rooms. Max, the receptionist is quite astute, taking insurance cards and handling new patient information forms. When I arrived, there was a mom with a stroller and baby with an appointment ahead of me. I observed the congenial manner which Dr. Gene Hong MD greeted them. When it was my turn, Dr.Hong reviewed my paperwork, and explained his treatment plan for me. He gave me hope, listing to him, as he keeps up with the Medical community, and also knows acupucture. What I like, is that he went to Stanford Medical school, and worked in Medicine for decades. From his experience, he truly understands Western Medicine and has developed a method of treating patients with Acupunture from this vantage point. Like the other review, I found his needles do not hurt at all. I am hopeful that my issues will resolve with Dr. Hong's treatments. When I left my treatment room, I found 5 other people had arrived in his reception area. They all looked happy to be there. One was in a wheelchair. Oregon Acupuncture Center is open: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Dr. Hong has a west side clinic on SW Barbur Blvd: Oregon Acupuncture Clinic, open: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If you have a stroller or wheelchair, I highly recommend this Oregon Acupuncture Center because the accessibility is easier.

Avoid at all costs. Billing nightmare. Had to have insurance follow up with them several times over…read morethe years for overcharging both myself and the insurance. Their billing practices are extremely poor. I am a family member of a firefighter from a local district, who had a straightforward billing agreement set up with MCC. However, we'd still receive past due bills on treatments already paid for, or in the incorrect amount, sometimes many months after treatment. It got so bad that I requested the absolute last bill they had on record for me, so I could pay out of pocket quickly and close my account. And now over a year after last correspondence, I have received a collections notice for a bill MCC billing says they sent me notices about, but I have not seen any such notices. They may have sent them to the wrong address, as this collections notice had my incorrect info on it. At this point, it's feeling like harassment. If they can't even take care of their local fire families, they likely won't take care of you either.
