At 25 y/o, I maintained a typical active NW lifestyle up until my car accident in March of 2016. I'm in an indescribable amount of pain and had met with ER, primary care and orthopedic doctors at other facilities who either treated me like an interruption to their day or as if I just had a simple scrape on the knee. My PT had me walking with a cane which helped physically but was mentally difficult to handle and did little for my comfort. I was getting married that upcoming fall and wanted to be able to walk down the aisle without my cane but didn't see that as a possibility. After not being happy with the results of the "Walk it Off" and "take a pain pill" approaches of those physicians, I researched and figured a chiropractor could at least hopefully treat my neck and back. My first experience with OWC was over the phone with Ashley when I called to schedule my 1st appointment. I was immediately impressed with how friendly, helpful, patient and professional she was. I was relieved by this because I had found no shortage of short-tempered and generally unhelpful phone scheduling staff throughout my several recent experiences with healthcare providers. My 1st appointment with Dr McLagan was very positive and professional. He took the time to listen and understood what I was saying. I got the impression right away that him and Wendy (his CA) truly cared. They assured me they could help me and got right to work, even treating a small fracture in my wrist! I was more than happy to make a follow up appointment after that and made fast buds with Wendy over my next few appointments because of how friendly and personable she is. Eventually Wendy convinced me to meet with Katie (also with a push from Dr M.) It took a lot of convincing because I have a horrible fear of needles to the point where I have fainted and have had seizures when having to deal with needles entering my body in the past (shots, Etc.) I truly trusted Wendy and Dr M had my best interest in mind and decided to make an appointment with Katie. When I first met with her, I was put to ease by her kindness. My first few appointments were difficult for me but Katie treated my anxiety with kindness and ease. We've now gotten to the point where I am able to have several acupuncture needles inserted in a single visit, usually without much fuss from me. Katie is a patient listener and has uncanny intuition when it comes to discovering effective treatment paths. She's incredibly compassionate and has gone above and beyond to help make my daily life more manageable. She's helped me immensely to: discover healthy ways of managing my pain and stress at home, manage sleep, and manage the anxiety and depression that comes with being less physically capable than normal and in a high level of pain on a day to day basis. For massage, Jeana is fantastic and took a proactive approach with me each of the times I've had my appointment with her. I primarily see Cydney who is a wonderful MT and adds to the army of kind-hearted, excellent listeners at OWC. I've found her experiences have given her unique perspectives on treatment. Cydney always ensures she is as effective as possible by communicating extremely well throughout treatment, and applying appropriate pressure to injured areas. Cydney does powerful work and always leaves my muscles feeling relieved after each visit. (Carly was a phenomenal massage therapist but she moved away over the summer.) Over the last few months I've also had some hilarious conversations with Jocelyn while waiting briefly in between appointments, and thoroughly enjoy her company. I've even gained insight on managing stress and pain using aromatherapy and essential oils topically which I have applied to my routine and have found very beneficial. Throughout my time being treated at the Oregon Wellness Center, I have been inspired to continue working toward recovering my active lifestyle. I've been encouraged by each of them to persevere when answers aren't being sought by my other doctors and have learned that there are healthy methods of treating pain that don't necessarily have negative outcomes. I had gained 15 lbs in first 6 wks following my accident due to stress, abrupt lifestyle change and my body reacting to the muscle relaxers and pain killers that I was desperately shoveling into my body. I've since lost even more than the weight I gained, and have learned chemical-free ways of managing pain. Together, the team at the OWC helped me achieve my goal of walking down the aisle without my cane and I even made it through most of my reception without it! I highly recommend every single staff member at OWC. I can whole heartedly testify to every single employee having their patient's best interest in mind. It doesn't seem right to refer to them as "employees" or "staff members" because they aren't just staff, they are Dr McLagan, Jocelyn, Ashley, Wendy, Katie, Cydney, Jeana and Carly. I started going to the Oregon Wellness Center about one year ago from the recommendation of my sister and her husband. The office staff is awesome. I love that there is a chiropractor, a massage therapist, and acupuncturist in the same building. It is possible to get back to back appointments with all three of these personnel in the same day. The receptionist always seems to know who I am when I call. I never have any problems scheduling an appointment even for with in a day when I have need. I work a physically demanding job. Dr. Shad McLagan does an excellent job in keeping me in good condition. I can also say that their massage therapist is worth the time and money. The care is quality and the customer service is excellent. There are always incentives offered for referring new patients. The staff keeps on a great face for all sorts of patients. I was very impressed one day with the professionalism, care, and tolerance of the office staff with a mentally challenged patient. I would recommend this office to anyone. read more

Feeling incapacitated from an old injury I found Oregon Wellness Center on the CHP network. The Chiropractor Dr. MacLagan quickly diagnosed the issue. Using traction, laser and 2 other pieces of modern equipment, I am improving quite a bit. I've been to a chiropractor before who was OK but old school. Dr. MacLagan is very modern and up to date on the latest techniques. His assistant Wendy is also very good at what she does. I also enjoy our conversations about vegan cuisine. In addition to the chiropractic, I've been receiving acupuncture from Katie. She takes great care in zeroing in on the problem through pointed questions and a special way of taking a pulse that helps indicate the areas needing therapy. The electro therapy she provides is an excellent way to stimulate the afflicted areas. Katie has also used moxabustion and essential oils on my in our sessions. Katie regular furthers her education which helps her to be on the cutting edge of her profession. read more

My initial consultation with Katie was very thorough and comprehensive. lots of questions about my health. That is why I am getting such wonderful results from her treating me. Katie is a very caring, dedicated and skilled acupuncturist.. I've been treated at the Oregon Wellness center for different conditions, including plantar faciitis, the common cold, knee injury. In each instance the recovery was quick, real and lasting. I can't thank Katie for the wonderful results that I have received. My plantar faciitis is gone. I remember coming in having a cold and was treated for that. Much improved after that treatment. Another treatment for a swollen throat that occurred. The day after that treatment it was gone. I have been going to the Oregon Wellness Center for a year now. The entire staff at OWC is very personable and professional. My interaction with the team is always a pleasant experience and my appointments are on time or with very little wait. I had injured my knee while training, and it prevented me from running the 2014 Portland Marathon. Regular adjustments and heat laser therapy have been key to my rehabilitation. When I began seeing Dr. McLagan I was a bit discouraged and was only able to do 3 mile runs, and now I'm back to marathon training! I appreciate that Dr. McLagan takes his time and listens to me. He has encouraged and helped me be more patient in my recovery to ensure I do not get reinjured. I am feeling very confident as I prepare for the Eugene Marathon this spring. read more

Dr. McLagan and the staff at Oregon Wellness Center are amazing. They are very welcoming and genuine. I first started treatment after a car accident and it was apparent right away that they will go out of their way give each patient the individual and personal attention they need. The front office personnel are easy to work with, accurate, and very accommodating with scheduling. The office is well rounded and offers a variety of services. Dr. McLagan is gentle, caring, attentive, and very knowledgeable. The massage therapists and acupuncturist are highly experienced and professional. Very professional, great attitude, quality work, very respectful and family oriented. I don't make a lot of money, but they still treated me like everyone else. I originally had gone to a different doctor at another Wellness Center and the chiropractor there was not good, when he adjusted me it hurt. I'm 6'2 240lbs, I was referred to this chiropractor at the The Oregon Wellness Center in Beaverton, OR they took very good care of me and it did not hurt at all. Both him and his wife are awesome. I have been going to The Oregon Wellness Center for about two years now. Their services and staff are the best I've encountered at any facility. As soon as you walk in the receptionist is very warm and friendly. My appointments have always been on time with very little to no wait time. The chiropractor, Dr McLagan is amazing at what he does. I have dislocated ribs and he made a tremendous difference after just one visit. I've also been there for dozens of massages and always had such a positive experience. With or without insurance the cost is very affordable and definitely worth it. I highly recommend them for their services. read more

I was referred here by a friend after having a negative experience with another chiropractic company. I have used chiropractic services for years and I know my body and needs very well. I have been going to OWC for years. I have long-term pain from a neck injury long ago and my visits to OWC keep me functioning in a very stressful job with a child at home. Then my car was rear-ended and my back was injured. Dr. MacLagan's work on my body along with the amazing massages by Heidi and Nancy provided incredible relief. We ended up at the Oregon Wellness Center after our doctor recommended we see a chiropractor for my 7 year old daughter's knee and leg pain due to hip misalignment. I went to the Oregon Wellness Center a few times for chiropractic work on my lower back. I've had issues for years where my lower back always causes pain. The techniques they use here, although I'm not familiar with other offices and how they do things, seemed to really help me. I only stopped going because of insurance issues that had nothing to do with the center at all. If I could get my insurance figured out I would absolutely come back! read more
