At the time I was only 11 weeks pregnant and had already completed an ultrasound and lab work for my current pregnancy. I explained multiple times that I had not yet had a full doctor's visit, so there was no additional documentation to provide. Despite this, the receptionists repeatedly insisted that I "should have more paperwork" and refused to listen when I explained that I did not. They denied me as a patient because they claimed there was "not enough data," even though they refused to properly review the documentation I already had. The entire experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially during pregnancy when compassion and professionalism matter most. I did not feel cared for or respected at all. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this clinic.

I asked for a handicapped tag or something since without it I'd have to walk far at work, and the front desk lady replied "those are really hard to get and there are a lot of people that have it worse than you" That is a terrible thing to say to a terrified pregnant lady, and she didn't even try or care. - most of my scary complications could have been prevented if the doctors and nurses cared. They ignored heavy bleeding and odd things on my ultrasound and took a wait and see approach. When I was rushed to the ER the emergency doctor was surprised at what he saw and I had to have emergency surgery. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED. I absolutely hate this place and suggest doing your research before coming here.

The visit was all well until I took the medication. With her being a doctor she should have been more alert that I was a young adult and couldn't take a high dose of medicine. She gave me 500mg of Flagyl and I took that as the directions told me too. That medicine gave me the worst allergic reaction. All of the side effects that is under that medication I went through. When my mental state changed I called her office to let her know that I was having complications with the medicine and she put in a lower dosage to my pharmacy. I called my pharmacy and then was told that the medicine was never called in by the doctor. The doctor was careless and pregnant. She should have been more aware because after all that I had went through I had to be rushed to the emergency room and stayed there for 6 days. Then after that I still couldn't get my mind back to normal. I had to be rushed to another hospital and stayed there for 15 days. Horrible. I will never come here again, I will just have to find me another and BETTER DOCTOR! After all the hospital visits, I had to drop all my classes from college and quit my job. She nearly killed me and with that medicine. But thank God, I pulled through! Beware of this doctor, or enter at your own risk! I am a living testimony! She may be nice, but there's always a price you have to pay with niceness. I paid that price!

Ugh, finding a new OB-GYN -- probably one of the most underrated female fears of moving. Having visited Houston Women's Care Associates in the Med Center for my well-woman exam last year, I was pleased to find out that The Woman's Place here in Pearland was one of their partnering offices. Scheduling an appointment was easy: the receptionist returned my call promptly, she was very friendly and pleasant to talk to, and I was able to schedule an appointment two days later w/ Dr. Morgan. Their office is located in a small plaza on Broadway/518 near 288, devoid of insane traffic or parking fees like their main office in the Med Center. If you're a new patient, arrive early because of paperwork... paperwork that contains basically the same information you provide to the receptionist when setting up your appointment. Weird. The office is nice and cozy; big waiting area and such. However, after being spoiled at the main location, where the examination rooms have plush pillows, chairs, changing curtains, and other little goodies, the rooms here are more... traditional. Nothing fancy. Nothing extra. Dr. Morgan is very sweet and has great bedside manner, but my visit felt very quick. Again, perhaps I'm spoiled by my experience @ the HQ, where my OB-GYN took the time to talk to me in her office before bringing me to an exam room and getting down to business. I have no major qualms about The Woman's Place -- I mean, Dr. Morgan told me right away that everything felt normal, and I got my BC refilled -- but it was definitely one of my more impersonal visits.

I first went in and found out I was pregnant, the next appointment I found out I had a "blighted ovum". This was heartbreaking for me and Dr. Gonzalez told me "Well, this isn't a miscarriage because there is no baby." She had no sympathy or compassion, barely explained what a blighted ovum was, and as I was crying she just left got up and left. Bedside manner is disgusting. I am not a doctor, to me I was pregnant with a baby, to me I did miscarry, I did take the pill, I did have contractions as I was pushing out the sack. I deal with the thought of this, how the news was given to me all the time, it happened 3 years ago and I am finally getting the nerve to write a review.

I had her tell me the fax number and I repeated it back to her. She told me it was correct. I went to my doctor's office and submitted an ROI on the 22nd. I called on October 1st, wondering where we were in the process of the new doctor reviewing paperwork. They let me know I wasn't in the system yet. I confirmed the fax number once more, and called my current doctor wondering what was going on. My current doctor told me they had sent the fax on the 22nd with my paperwork using the fax number on their website. I gave them the fax number I received from the phone call and waited again. I called Gonzalez group on October 6th to see what was going on. I still wasn't in the system. I explained why I was stressed- that I needed to see a doctor so that I can get my anatomy ultrasound- "Sorry ma'am. We can't help you." I confirmed the fax number once again. I called my current doctor. They said that when they type in the number it calls someone. So I call Gonzales group once again to confirm the fax number and at this point they realize, no I did not have the fax number. That I've had it wrong this entire time. I call my doctor to give them the correct number. They say, "Okay. It's been sent!." I call Gonzales Group again- "No. We don't have it. Maybe their fax machine is broken?" I did not find this funny in the least. I could have had my appointment scheduled weeks ago if they hadn't brushed me off, had listened to my concerns, and had paid attention as I said back the fax number. But they couldn't care less. I'm disgusted that the health of myself and the health of my unborn child has been completely disregarded through this whole ordeal. I'm going with a different doctor.

I told him I took my last pill of one of my medications the night before & that I was about to run out of my other one. He told me he'd call in a courtesy refill to last me until my next appointment in June. I noticed nothing was called into my pharmacy the following day and called to follow up. He told me he wouldn't call in a refill, because I need an appointment and labs first. No in-person appointments are available until June, but he had already made an appointment for me in June. Further, my lab appointment was scheduled for Monday, but I will cancel that because I have not taken my medicine in 3 days, so I don't think my labs will be reliable. I have no idea what this receptionist's background is, but he does not have good judgement and is also not familiar with what it feels like to have hormone fluctuations. I asked him if it's safe to stop the medicine I ran out of cold turkey, but he made no attempt to answer my question with the help of a knowledgeable nurse or medical assistant. As a former medical professional with experience dealing with doctors and their staff for decades, I have never dealt with office staff like this. I believe people like him will continue to be one of the reasons Dr. Hutton loses customers. I will not return to a practice that treats its patients with total disregard. In addition, the office is located upstairs in a tiny strip mall with limited parking. So, if you choose to see Dr. Hutton, give yourself extra time to find parking and walk to her office.

If you only care about getting your issues resolved without the extra stuff she is the one for you. I actually liked her and was going to keep her as my gyn until... After I had seen her several times and they had told me they took my insurance. I got a surprise bill from them. It wasnt too high, so I paid it and didnt ask why, I just thought it was part of my deductible or something. I made an appt some time later and when I got there, after waiting about 30 minutes the lady at the front desk called me over to tell me I had a balance. I told her that it is not possible because I had not been to the DR for several months and I paid the bill they sent me in July. She was all confused and asked me to sit. Fifteen minutes later she calls me again and explains that the problem is that Dr. Nguyen does not take my insurance, the doctor that runs the practice does. I told her I had checked with them several months before and was told she did. Then she went to ask Dr.Nguyen to see what she thought and it seems that she told her that I would have to pay as an uninsured person?? I told her NO. I have insurance and will not pay out of pocket to see her. I was not seen that day and the lady said she would call me back to let me know what they could resolve. She never called me. I called back a week later and was transferred to someone named Stephanie (who supposedly deals with insurance), left her a message and she still hasnt called me back. I am through with this office. I will just find a different gynecologist. I'm still a little pissed that they gave me wrong information but never took responsibility it. Now I'm the one that has to pay (literally) for their mistakes. Gave her two stars because although service sucked Dr. Nguyen's nurse is really sweet and kind of makes up for the Dr's lack of empathy. I really have experienced better.

If you anticipate having a low-risk pregnancy and you would like a natural birth in a hospital…read moresetting, the midwives at WSH are the best! The only other midwife delivering in a hospital in the Houston area is one that works with Dr. de Ayala at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital. The 6 midwives work together in a group to care for their patients -- because they're the only hospital midwife group in Houston, they do fill up fast so you should call and register with them as a patient AS SOON AS POSSIBLE once you find out you're pregnant. I believe they take only 40 pregnant patients per month. I was very pleased with their care overall as I delivered my second baby. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 stars is just because of the few items in the "cons" list below. PROS: * The midwives treat pregnancy like a normal, natural event -- rather than a minefield loaded with risks and obstacles. They are low-intervention and this should decrease your risk of a C-section. But you can still get an epidural if you want. * They don't order a bunch of extra or unnecessary tests * They already automatically do all the things I wanted in my natural birth plan (such as: you can eat and drink during labor; intermittent fetal monitoring; birthing ball is provided; option to use hydrotherapy during labor -- there's a tub and shower in the L&D rooms; compresses and counterpressure and lubricant to decrease the risk of tearing when you push; pushing allowed in different positions; delayed cord clamping; they try not to break your water artificially unless indicated for some reason & they'll discuss it with you first to get your permission; post-delivery Pitocin is given on a case-by-case basis) CONS: * Parking can be a headache (Parking in the underground garage will cost you $8-10 per visit. Sometimes the garage gets completely full & you may circle for a while before you find a spot, or you may have to park off-site. You can buy a discounted parking pass to get up to 15% off. You could also park in the surface lot across Main St from the hospital & it's cheaper, but it fills up quickly on weekday mornings and the parking spots are tiny.) * On average, I spent about 1 hour total at each visit -- they often run behind, so it's not a quick in-and-out visit. But part of this is because the midwives take the time to talk to you and address your concerns. * There are 6 midwives, so you'll get someone different at most appointments -- then when you go into labor, you'll get whoever's on call but depending who it is, you may not have seen them in months - so they could be a little unfamiliar to you. * If you need an emergency C-section, it'll likely be done by a 3rd year resident (but these are the most experienced residents who are almost done with their program and almost ready to practice independently).
