I just completed a six-month program with Jaime, and it has been LIFE CHANGING! I am turning 40 next month and had an uneasy relationship with my body since early childhood. That, coupled with birthing two children, feeling stressed, and being an emotional eater meant that my physical habits were unhealthy, to say the least. I was (past tense!) an emotional eater who resorted to food for comfort. The problem is, as emotional eaters very well know, that no amount of food can heal what's missing on a spiritual and psychological level. So I came to Jaime declaring that I don't want to "diet" - but I want a radical and long-lasting lifestyle change! Jaime confirmed right away that her program does *not* involve dieting or diet trends. It involves eating healthy, whole foods, while also attending to our "primary foods", which are relationships, career, and so on. And that's what we did! Jaime is incredibly smart, perceptive, and compassionate. She listens carefully and offers concrete step-by-step solutions to the issues that came up in our sessions. There wasn't an obscure moment where I had to figure out how to take care of my needs. Every session ended with clear goals. Also, the program is designed in a way that allowed me to gradually change my unhealthy habits. For instance, one of my goals was to exercise. It would be unrealistic to meet my long-term goal of exercising 3-4 times a week already within the first weeks of the program. So I began with a bare minimum of 2 times a week and gradually worked my way up. We never talked about weight! I didn't use a scale at all! I, personally, wanted to "feel good". To fit into old clothes. To feel better about the way I exist in my body. And I loved working with Jaime in a supportive environment where I wasn't being judged (and potentially shamed), rather, I was being heard. Jaime's program is all about tailoring each individual's needs. There's no "one-fits-all" pill. No monitoring of weight. No "can'ts" - that is - it's not a diet! I LOVE THIS WOMAN. Ok, so we just met last month. I know it seems quick but when you know, you know, right? I found Jaime over 7 months ago and after comparing her program to others and talking with her, I decided to jump in with both feet and do her program. I'm happy to say that I got much more out of our time together that I ever thought I would. Jaime is much more than a nutritionist, she is a guide and a confidant. When I signed up with her, I was at a point where I felt like I knew quite a bit about food and how to make good choices for myself. However, I was feeling stuck with what to eat, when to eat it. I wanted to understand how specific foods worked with me and which ones didn't. I figured there would be areas that I would be on my own with any nutritionist, but I was wrong. I had always thought I knew what I was doing when it came to food. I was vegetarian, went to the farmers market every week, and led a pretty active life. I had a kid four years ago, and though the baby weight came off pretty easily right after birth, I was horrified to see it creep back on over the last couple of years. Jaime not only analyzes your food and eating but your entire life and how it affects your health. She is teaching me that if I love myself a little more I'll realize that I already look like that.
