I live closer to Pat's Grocery but the fact that they don't accept debit and are only open until 5 makes me take a few extra strides to Joe's Kwik-Way. Completely family owned, you'll find a member of Joe's family happy to serve you. Joe himself is quite a character, a strong silent type, but quirks like a funny grandpa. Sometimes he'll suggest to me new products he got in that I should try, and not in a "I'm sitting on 3 crates of this stuff and it's gotta go" kind of way. Granted, the store isn't too quick to refresh it's shelves, and stuff pretty much stays there until it's bought, but nothing that's totally out of control. While your in Joe's, more then likely when a customer comes in through the door, you'll hear them say "Hey Joe" (They're not quoting Hendrix) Joe is the most popular guy in my neighbourhood and he runs a good store too.

Why spend an arm and a leg on overpriced candy when this place has it all! (Minus the Popcorn) Candy, chips, pop and juices are well stocked and ready to go. I'm fairly certain this spot knows its target audience and brings in goodies to accommodate ultimate snackage. 2. They serve sushi. I haven't tried it... but it looks good. Not sure where its prepped... and there isn't much to this spot in terms of space. But its stocked in its own fridge and looks fresh. Let me know how it goes! 3. Friendly service. I've gone here many 'a time before catching a flick, and the folks are always incredibly sweet. I've had great customer service here. Its location, well stocked supply, and friendly service give this spot an advantage. Putting a little punch in convenience, Medley is a sprinkling that hit s the spot.

So one day, Gayle and I were walking from the Cruise ship to Dalhouise (to explore campus), we came upon Atlantic News. The place was loaded with various periodicals and I got to that point where there was too much to finish deciding. I left with a weekend Global and Mail, and copies of Canadian Geographic, Macleans, Canadian Art, and more. You don't find a store like this much anymore.
