They get three stars. We got three pizzas. One pepperoni one Hawaiian and one supreme. The pepperoni came out the best and would be a four star review. The pizza overall is good and slightly different than any other place. The crust is thin and I like a thin crust it is a little chewy. We all liked the sauce and cheese which were good and the portion works well. The Hawaiian came out very well however both the Hawaiian and the supreme with extremely light on the toppings. The latest on toppings I have ever seen at any pizza place ever. The supreme the peppers did not taste very good (bitter) and the sausage was definitely not my style of sausage (think hot/sweet Italian with casing with more fat that flavor) which ended up being OK because there was about five pieces of sausage on the entire pie. I could see this being a four-star review with slight better ingredients and if they had a normal amount of toppings. We will be going back but sticking to cheese and pepperoni and to try some other items if we happen to be out that way.The pizza was ready for pick up when they said it would be the staff was kind and courteous. The previous location Jake's was popular with Belle Vernon people. I ate at this location 2 years ago and was disappointed since I had heard it was good. The tasteless thin crust, cheaper, greasy mozzerella, skimpy toppings was way under par. There are too many really good pizza places in SW PA to waste my money here. I didn't review earlier because I never intended to go back and it didn't seem worth my time, but now that the owner has decided to also be politically offensive and attack me on Facebook over my honest review with insults and foul language, add that to my dislike of their food and I want to let others know just how bad this place is! read more

The best pizza ever! The crust is the always perfect; never too much to where it's a mouthful of bread, but just enough to gradually fill you up. The new owners have kept the original recipe on everything!!! The policy of cash only is in the past as they finally accept credit and debit card. There's a very friendly atmosphere along with friendly workers. Local high school kids are make the pizzas and answering phones so it's nice to see them all working hard on busy nights. The milkshakes are better than ever. So happy to see them back open and doing great! read more

I grew up on Jake's pizza and get it from this location every time I am back in the Valley. I got one of their pizzas again today and it was just as good as every one of the 100+ times I have gotten one there in the past -- the best I (still) have ever had. It's exactly the same pizza that is made and served at the 4-1/2 star rated in town Belle Vernon location! Who cares about the owner's political views, it's the food that counts. And, it's really tough surviving in business during the current state of affairs in our country so please don't let politics bias your view of this business. Don't let some of the other biased reviews dissuade you from having the best pizza in the Mon Valley. Anyone who has lived in or around this area for any length of time has had a Jake's pizza. This is a real old school family owned small business. It's unlike any other pizza I've ever had...and I've eaten a lot of pizza from a lot of places on both coasts. It is a no nonsense, no frills pizza joint, with the expected deep fried fare, a soda case, and milkshakes. They've recently added cupcakes! Please bring back the pretzel cones! Anyway, the focus is the pizza. It is a thin chewy crust with a light crispiness underneath, assisted by the cornmeal on the bottom of the dough. It has a mild tomato sauce that compliments a rich mozzarella. We always get half mushroom, half pepperoni with extra sauce. I like to sprinkle mine with black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian herbs. They use real mushrooms and the good tiny pepperoni that shrinks up like a cup of oil when you bake it. Eat this stuff hot! It doesn't translate nearly as well cold. The staff is always very friendly, accountable, helpful, and really want you to enjoy your food. read more

What a moody SOB!!! I will never come back just because the guy was very unfriendly, and I felt unwelcome. I ordered a small cheese and I had a bottled water with me because I was shopping in the plaza. He said I couldn't bring drinks from outside in, so I ended up eating in my car. favorite pizza in the world... gooey cartoon cheese and that small peperroni that curls up on the edges. the ambiance is better in rostraver. they have old-timey vanilla and cherry coke, and a lot of old arcade cabinets (donkey kong, ms. pac-man, centipede, etc.). both of those really seal the deal. read more

Good pizza, been eating it my entire life! 3 stars because my family ordered a ton of food and my grandma asked the owner for a few glasses of tap water. He said we could only buy bottled water. She said please she only wanted tap water. He gave her two small plastic cups and said, "go to the bathroom then." It was horrible, but Jake's is known for their pizza, not their service. I ordered a pizza at 3:58 on Sunday, Jan 27th. I was told it was an hour wait for it. I accepted these terms. I remembered the Pro Bowl was tonight, and figured they might be a little busy. I live in the town right next to them, so it might take me between 8 to 10 minutes to pick up the pizza, and another 8-10 minutes to get home. Well, when I did get home the pizza was stone cold. So much so, it had to be re-heated to eat. And if it's a hot pizza, it's ALWAYS hot when I get home. Now, unfortunately for me, I have severe nerve damage and can't feel the temperatures of things, so I didn't know. So I decided to call and complain. I got some high school girl telling me she was the manager, so I told her; I was told to wait an hour, picked up the food on time, it was cold. I was told it sits on top of a 450 degree pizza over and stays warm, and that there was an order of 10 pizza's for one order before mine, so it couldn't be cold.. I told her it was. So, she went to get someone named Rob...the poor dolt didn't realize you should cover a phone receiver, especially when your going to talk about someone...so I heard every word she told him. How I, " just wanted to argue about a cold pizza and that it shouldn't be cold because it only takes me 12 minutes to get home." Oh, and did I mention she used my last name and called me lady, instead of saying something like, Mrs. Jones has a problem and would like to speak you? No, she said, " Some 'Jones' lady is on the phone complaining about a cold pizza. I told her we had an order of 10 go out before her, but she said she only lives 12 minutes away and has never gotten a cold pizza before. I told I was the manager, but she just won't shut up." OK, so my blood boiled a little hearing that! Now, this Rob gets on the phone with me and he starts. Here's a list of his excuses: 1-I had an order of 9 pizza's, then 10 pizza's then yours. 2-It sat on top of pizza oven and stayed warmed 3-It's 18 degrees out...it was 30 degrees out. 4-Why couldn't I eat the pizza there, because, "it taste much better there", hmmm? 5-I have nothing to do with the "corrigated boxes", my mother...God bless the poor woman's soul who passed away years ago...ordered them. Now, I spent my career in food service and know how things work. Especially fast food! Where have the days of courtesy gone!?! I told him I understood the so-called 10 to 19 pizza's, but wouldn't it of been better to tell me to come in earlier and give me a soda that would of cost him less than 10 cents and wait, then to give me a cold pizza? That's when we went to arguement 2 &3. I told him the pizza didn't stay warm and was told to warm it on foil in the oven or did I expect him to put it on the foil? I said no...I expected a warm pizza. Next was arguement #4, which I replied, "I'm disabled and can't sit and eat in a restaurant." That's when went to dead mother. I had enough!!! When you're going to blame someone who has been dead for years for your mistake, there is no place else to go. So I said, "Listen, we've been loyal customers since you opened, although we did leave for several years because the product became bad, (the place went down hill after his mother died for a while), and had just started coming back in the past year. Now, I have no problem not ordering from you again for another several years. But know this...I will tell every family member, every friend, and anyone else who will listen that you gave me a cold pizza and couldn't apologize for it, but instead you and your high school restaurant manager wanted to argue about it, and that I was wrong for telling you about it!" He went to keep on going, and I have no doubt that he did so his little high school employees could know he was the big, bad man. Instead, I hung up and decided to make good on my promise. All I wanted was an apology. All I got was a lousy meal and an useless arguement. If you had a negative star review, I would of given them a negative 10 for no customer service and extremely poor food quality. Luckily, the 28th was garbage day. All that aggrevation for a $15 pizza. You would of thought I asked for an ounce of gold for free. GOOD-BYE JAKES!!! AND PLEASE...don't give me ANYTHING for their bad review. Been eating Jake's for over 25 years. Thin crust, great sauce, right amount of cheese and pepperoni. Doesn't get any better than this!! :)
