We had a room with a seating area (pull out couch) and sleeping area separate. Restaurant onsite with some variety but higher priced, we opted to order pizza. Pool is open late which was great for the kids. Unfortunately we flew out very early so could not have the free breakfast included. The hotel has free airport shuttle even for early morning flights, this was so nice so we did not have to worry about transportation. My only criticism is the cost of parking we rented a car for the day to drive around Miami and parking over 15 mins was $30. A great spot to spend a layover day!

Through the Hilton app, we were all requested to checked in and request a room. We did that and all requested the 7th floor. When we got here, we were all placed in different rooms all around the hotel, not on floor 7. We were not informed that it was a first come first serve and not the rooms we requested. As we all waited in the lobby for hours with no word, we saw people check in hours after us and get the room we requested. Even within our group, I requested one room and it was given to someone else in my group. I also worked with Leydi Miranda who emailed me to tell me she was the event coordinator and my point of contact. I emailed her back immediately with questions and she did not respond. One of my questions was, could I ship my wedding dress to the hotel and she hold it. She never responded. I shipped the box then continued to call her work phone, cell phone, email her, and text her to see if she could collect my box from UPS. She never responded. I had to use the chat feature on the Hilton app to talk to someone else. Once we got to the hotel, I wanted to speak to her. I called, still no answer, the front desk called. Still no answer so we went to her office and she answered and had my box THANK GOD. We returned to the same hotel after our cruise and had the same problem. We checked in and had to wait as others got into their rooms before that. I'm actually writing this review as I wait for my room. The hotel itself is a great location for cruisers but the service is unacceptable. We will not be staying here again.

Walking distance to a Publix, the mall, bakery, etc. The hotel checkin is on the 6th floor, the first floor is mainly a seating area and concierge. They offer free hot breakfast, mini fridge and microwave in the room, cruise shuttle at time of this review is priced at $12 with pick up times at 10a, 11a, and 12p. If you miss breakfast, they had breakfast bags with fruit and other grab and go items. You will need your room key to access the laundry room and guest floors. There is no carpet in the room I was in (basic king- not the elite level) and pets are not allowed. Service animals only. The hotel has a lobby bar, three restaurants are located right next door (Sproutz, Batch Gastropub, and Shahs of Kabob). I dined at Sproutz and Shahas of Kabob and both are good, but they are not affiliated with the hotel. I stayed 3 nights prior to my cruise and I really enjoyed my stay. The air conditioner worked with no issues, pillows are very soft, bed was firm, but not uncomfortable and I slept better in that bed, than my own. There is a master light switch to control the overhead light in the entry and bathroom. You can operate them separately (it just takes some flipping of lights to figure it out). Decent water pressure and nice, hot water at night. Morning time I suggest getting your shower in early. Hot water is still present but not as hot as it was the night before. Tip- I took my shower at 5/6am the morning of checkout and the water was hot and perfect for a nice shower before leaving for cruise. Staff was always smiling, friendly and willing to assist. Carlos at the concerige desk is very helpful, ask for his recommendations and he is more than happy to assist. The 7th floor has the laundry facility, but many machines were out of order. This is going on my pre cruise hotel list because it was the perfect hotel and the perfect location. It was about a 15min ride to the cruise port and airport. I checked in on the app the day before and picked the room. We parked in the garage, went to the lobby, and got our room keys. As we went to the room, there was a sign on the door indicating the room was occupied. I was surprised and ended up going back to the lobby to see what happened. It turns out that the app was glitchy and we were put in a different room number. The lady behind the counter made adjustments and we were able to stay on the same floor as what I originally picked, but in a different room. The room had a king bed, a fridge, microwave, a TV, drawers, and a bathroom with a shower. It was very clean. We got two drink vouchers to redeem at the lobby/pool bar, which was a plus, to enjoy while we were at the pool. The hotel has a fitness center as well. The continental breakfast provided a selection of coffee and juices for the beverages. The food items consisted of a waffle bar, different types of pastries, and breakfast foods to choose from. They offered a little more than some of the other locations I have been at.

Other beds were nice and comfy. - Breakfast was a mad house, but good food. - Evening reception was crazy too. 2 drink coupons per person and long lines for the bar. Although, the Embassy in DC does throws a nice Orange Fest during April which is always fun. When you park and arrive in the building they ask you to sign in before you can enter any of the offices. For a small country the renewal requirements are pretty extensive from the passport picture, which has very specific sizing requirements, to the detailed application. Had to make an appointment online to see them first. You have the option of having the passport sent to you (but you must bring a self addressed prepaid envelope by one of their pre-approved vendors). I didn't bother. I just went back to the office to pick it up. I received an email telling me 2-3 weeks later it was ready for pick up. Well 3 months later I finally had a chance to pick it up. I made another appointment for my little one to get her initial passport too. The office has a waiting room with a TV which is a nice convenience. On the two occasions I've visited in Miami the office didn't seem too busy either. Since it's Brickell consider coming via metro. It's a little more convenient than dealing with the rush hour traffic.

I would also say confusing because of the interchangeability of words for the country, as being either Holland or the Netherlands but with the people being referred to as Dutch. Indeed, I onetime recall one of our many not to bright (and we do have a lot of them) U. S. Customs agents hauling one of my friends away when we were entering the United States. I enquired what the problem might be and was told that when questioned he had said he was from Holland but his passport indicated that he wasn't at all from Holland but in fact from the Netherlands. Go figure that one! LOL! Anyway, the Dutch or Netherlands Consulate Services, whichever, occupies a small but comfortable space on Brickell with the staff being very multilingual. Besides doing passports or merely attending to matters involving citizenship, they are friendly enough to chat with anyone interested in visiting Holland, having some brochures and travel information available and able to answer most any question you may have.

Wanting a nice weekend getaway in Miami Beach, we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. Come to find out there's absolutely no pool. What kind of Hilton is this that there is no pool? Also, there's no parking. The website shows that you drop your car off at the front and the valet workers will assist your car (which is $45 valet parking a day). That couldn't be farther from the truth. They redirected us to the AC Hotel which is about a block away. YOU have to drive your car to another hotel to get any sort of valet parking--then you're expected to walk back to the hotel. A joke. There's stairs to the hotel so you can't even drag your luggage. We ordered a suite, which was meant to be dog friendly, yet we received a room that isn't dog friendly. Another lie from their website. Now, good thing we didn't end up bringing our dogs, because it would've been a disaster. The TV also was not working at first and the handimen took about an hour and 30 minutes to fix. Then, the next day, the TV kept freezing, which was frustrating but it was fixed. It's a mystery as to why they let the room be rented if the TV was likely complained about from previous stayers. Staying at the hotel room closest to the water, the view was blocked by an unfinished balcony and there were glass doors that we couldn't even open. Also, the elevator was the most slow elevator I have ever been in. And there's just one elevator to rely on.

I will say that the additional sound bar is weird because it doesn't sync up with the TV so you get a little bit of a lag or an echo and the TV doesn't turn up by itself nor does the TV mute and allow you to play the sound bar separately so there's a little bit of a disparity. Also, we had trouble with our air-conditioning, but once I pointed it out within an hour, the maintenance man had fixed the air-conditioning for the whole fourth floor because I was in a room about 15 rooms away from my coworker and both of us had a hard time sleeping last night because the lowest temperature we could get the room was 73 which doesn't sound bad but if you're trying to sleep you need to be in the high 60s. Another weird thing is they don't have a refrigerator in the room, but they have a refrigerator on our bar and so I had to get creative with putting my water and stuff in there to get a cold. I'd rather just have a fridge. But the big one is the shower shower is just amazing. It has as many showerheads as you could ask for I think two on the ceiling for coming out of the wall plus the one that is mounted to a hose. My room also had a bidet, but I didn't give that a shot but definitely would stay here again. We sat at the bar one night and had probably some of the best bar service we ever had a restaurant was pretty decent. Did a separate review for Miranda Mediterranean. The last thing I would say is the mechanism that holds the toilet paper roll in my room was installed upside down so anytime you want to use the toilet paper. It would slide off and go onto the floor so it was installed upside down so some weird stuff but definitely the room itself was cool.

I advance, I purchased as advertised "romance package" upon arrival, sparkling wine, roses and chocolate-dipped strawberries to be in the room. Upon arrival, nothing in room. I visited with the evening manager, and all would be fixed the following day. On Day 2, I stopped by the front desk to confirm all would be fixed that day. When we returned in the evening, the flowers showed up, but no bubbles or chocolates. I re-visited the front desk again the evening, and they were bewildered that things still weren't right. I went to the bar myself the retrieve the bottle of sparkling and glasses, the chocolates were to be delivered to the room. When the chocolates did not arrive after a couple of hours, I returned to the front desk yet again, to be told the kitchen was closed, so no chocolates that night. We checked out the next morning, having never received the full package. I was promised a call by the front desk manager, which never came. Total fiasco! Clearly, hotel managers are delegating responsibility for getting things done, not taking ownership interest in guests issues to solve them. Very disappointing ... we won't be back! If you go for few minutes will be only $4.00 ( I paid $16.00 because I have to wait longer time) The officer was kind and nice, they give you a number and of course, you wait. But somehow was good to wait because every single person there was missing one or more documents. They respect your turn if you were missing something, when you come back they will see you. There is an office (not related to the Consulate) that helps everybody, but of course you pay for their service. Once you are there, you want everything to flow. The gentleman who took care of me and many others had a lot of patience but he was firm when explaining what you missed. Some people with thin skin could say he was rude, not me! My grandparents were from Spain and my mother, I am used to that "tone" My delay was because I was missing few things that honestly could have all of them, but I don't think the Consulate website has a link that lists all documents in the sequence they want you to present them here the day of your appointment. Recommendation for everyone: - review all your documents and have them in order. - go on time (do not go many hours ahead of your appointment because that's why the wait is longer) - do not park outside the building, it will take more time and the meter might not allow you to add more time. - organize your day in the way you are prepared to spend there more time than expected. - be sure you have some cash or credit card ready in case you missed something and you need to go to the 5th floor office. People everywhere, folders flying, nerves running high. But once you get inside, everything shifts. It's calm, professional, and surprisingly well organized considering the madness in the lobby. The security guard at the front was super helpful and told me there are a bunch of different consulates in the building, so make sure you know which floor you're headed to before showing up. The Spanish Consulate itself was very structured and polite. They move people through fast but not rushed, and the staff were kind to everyone I saw. Heads up: they do take your original documents, so bring extra copies or scans for yourself before you go. That part makes some folks nervous, but it's part of the process. Honestly, I was there about two hours total and everything went smoothly once I got past the door. The staff are clearly doing their best to handle a huge crowd, and they were patient and professional the whole time. If you follow the directions, come prepared, and keep calm, you'll be fine. It's busy because everyone's trying to reconnect with their family history -- that's kind of beautiful, in its own hectic way. Pro tip: show up early, bring water, and have your documents in order. You'll survive it just fine.

I also have history here, used to stay here when they first opened years ago and would stay here consistently when I traveled to Miami for work regularly. Back then, it was new, fresh, and striving to be on top of their game. Despite the 3.5 star review, I figured we should give them another shot. Plus they were part of the AMEX Hotel Collection and a hotel group we know and have had good experiences with (IHG). Generally though, Epic isn't horrible, it's just lost some of the luster it once had unfortunately. First off, all of the team here we've come across have been great. Friendly, welcoming, etc. Service for the most part has been solid so far. Where they've fallen down is related to the space itself. The building isn't as striking as it once was. You walk in and the high ceilings and wide spaces are still pretty impressive. Waterfront views and vibes are great. Thing is, the unique elements aren't really there like I remember. Compared to other properties in this category, that stood out. But not a huge issue for us. Zuma is a vibe, unfortunately, Area 31 is under renovation (at least the restaurant area). When we got to the room. It wasn't bad. Good size, decently appointed. It wasn't completely worn but it definitely felt aged. The furniture is showing its age some. Cleaning was just ok and seemed a little rushed. It wasn't nasty so don't want to overemphasize too much. Curtains seem like they've been in service a while. Things like pillows were pretty flat. Things like the privacy button/door bell wasn't functioning so we had to ask for a privacy hang tag. Again, none of this was abysmal, just not what we expected and could have been better. But again, not horrible enough for us to pack up and walk out. I'd give the room a B-, my wife gave it a C+. We got a room on a higher floor with a sizable balcony which was a nice touch. Looks a little like maintenance on it was also rushed. Overall, I think Epic still has "good bones" and a ton of potential to get back to its previous days. The team has been great and, to me, that's always a great foundation.
