I am surprised by the negative reviews here, perhaps they have improved their services since some of them were written, but I took my daughter in for a consult in December 2018 to the Delaware location. They provided a very detailed plan with really more information than I actually needed. Costs were clearly articulated, itemized and they were very flexible on payment plans and working with Insurance. I spoke with multiple co-workers with kids with braces and almost exactly the same price. Now, to be fair, her case is very basic, no extractions or palate expanders and such. I am giving 4 stars now. Will review when the treatment is complete. The staff is friendly and accommodating. And of course it is money making organization, would be naive to think otherwise. read more

Dr. Homon is my daughter Ashlan's orthodontist. We brought her to him when she was about ten, and he recommended a two part plan that included giving her braces for a relatively short period of time in order to make space in her mouth for her permanent teeth, and then giving them again when she was older. If we'd just done the one set when she was older, it would have taken much longer and would have been much harder on her. We're going to get the second set of braces next week, and I cannot rave enough about this place. They are incredibly organized and efficient. The office has great video games that Ashlan loves going there to play. However, they're so efficient that we've never waited more than five minutes. I've even resorted to taking her half an hour early so she can play, but that doesn't help. They call her back immediately. LOL! They give you a set price of what you'll have to pay, and unless the patient really abuses the appliance, there are no additional costs for repairs, replacements, or check ups. The office staff keeps track of everything--insurance information, when you need to come back, what the plan is. It's a wonder of efficiency. I'm not kidding. I wish all doctors were this great. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Dr. Homon and his staff, and I recommend them wholeheartedly. read more

Both doctors are really great with my daughter. Their waiting room is full of games to keep the kids busy. Awesome staff as well, his dental assistants and administrative staff are really easy to deal with. They show you your short and long term options and send you home with a folder so you can stay informed. Highly recommend! read more

We brought our daughter to this office for braces. Their plan was in two phases, phase 1 was about $2,000 and phase 2 is $5,200. Phase 1 included partial expander, braces and a retainer. After the treatment time was complete they removed the braces, but they kept the pallet expander on her upper teeth and said that would be used as her permanent retainer. This "permanent retainer" broke a few weeks or months after (I can't remember) but I called to tell their office and ask for a removable retainer, which was specifically stated in my plan that I would receive. They said no, she will be fine at this point without it. Clearly a money saving tactic on their part. Recently, when I took my daughter to her regular dentist for a checkup they told me that she has to start wearing her retainer because her wisdom teeth are starting to come in and would start moving her teeth. I called Dr. Homan's office again requesting the retainer I ALREADY paid for, and they said I had to bring her in for a consultation. At the consultation they gave me the "Phase 2" plan for $5,200 and said that she would get her retainer after she completes Phase 2. We are happy with her teeth now and we don't plan on doing phase 2. I told them no thank you for phase 2, but please give me the retainer that I had paid for. They REFUSED to give it to me and now I am left to warn anyone who is thinking about going here that Dr. Homan is a money hungry orthodontist. Please stay away from this office. Not the mention the office staff is NOT friendly. read more

Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Homon's practice has not been a positive one. I have received unprofessional and incompetent behavior at my daughters recent appointments in March and again in June. They didn't fix her permanent retainer properly in March causing her teeth to move. They then expected me to pay for yet another temporary retainer to fix their mistake. I had already paid $5000 for braces. When I objected to this fee, I was berated by a staff member then hung up on, after she told me she was way too busy to deal with my nonsense. This behavior shouldn't be acceptable in any workplace. Another staff member told me to call Dr. Homon's private phone number after 7 pm.. I found this odd and inappropriate. He should have called me back during business hours or right when they closed if he was too busy all day. I requested that any of four other staff members return my call. Still waiting. They should have fixed the problem without charge. No discussion necessary, it was their mistake. Ten years ago this practice was efficient and good. Now they seem to have gotten too big, too busy, too greedy and, in my experience, patient care has declined. We have moved on to a different orthodontist and will never return to Dr. Homon. read more

If you don't mind taking your kids to a money factory, then Dr. Homon is your man. Just wait! . A pretty arrogant guy who provides average care on his best day. Please don't make the mistake I did. I am 21 years old and came to Dr. Homon's office for an Invisalign consultation. Dr. Homon was very nice and friendly, so I was excited to get started. Every appointment after the consultation, the staff (excluding the secretary and Dr. Carr) was consistently unfriendly. I've never had any sort of orthodontia before, so everything they were doing was new to me. They never told me what was going on/in, they would simply tell me to open up and put things in my mouth... Not one time did they say why or what it was. Soon, they put "attachments" on my teeth (hard glue-like pointy things to keep the Invisalign in place) without telling me they were going to do that. It's very unpleasant for your significant other to have these and I wish this had been discussed before spitting and being told these attachments weren't coming out for the next 20 weeks. The spots where the attachments were removed are now ridged and sensitive now.. Finally at my last appointment, not only did the assistant leave etch (38% phosphoric acid) on my tongue, giving me a chemical burn, but I was unaware that they were placing permanent retainers on my top AND bottom teeth. I've never even heard of them being placed on the top. These should all be things that are discussed prior to beginning a $1000 investment. I am so unhappy with my experience there that I would rather have had crooked teeth. I never saw Dr. Homon after the 1st appointment but I think he should know what actually goes on in his office. I would never recommend this practice to anyone and I wish I never came here. I feel worse about my teeth now then when I started. I strongly suggest that anyone looking for an orthodontist becomes familiar with the patient rights listed on the ADA (American Dental Association) website so that they may receive the quality care that I was not given. It was my right as a patient to know what was going on before receiving treatment. It was also my right to decline or be offered an alternative. Which I definitely would have taken an alternative in the event I was explained what was going on and the permanent results it would cause. read more

Not recommended at all! I have had nothing but issues with their practice years ago and ended up NOT having any services done by them! 15 years later I tried to have my records switched from their office to a new Doctor! They said they can't talk to me because they sent me to collects in 2005 and I have never been notified about that! And for what I had no services completed by them. They were able to get ORIGINAL records from 1988 and are now holding them hostage! Horrible experience!!! So many orthodontists out there, be selective please!!!! read more

You will see Dr. Homon on the first visit (to close the deal) and then rarely see him throughout 18 months of treatment. Rather cold and superficial. Difficult to get records. Disjointed practice. Would recommend going elsewhere. read more

I waited to write this review until I went to a new orthodontist so that I would know I wasn't overreacting to how terrible of an office this place is. I just got back from my new orthodontist and it was a night and day difference. I'm 23. I first got braces from Dr. Homon when I was 15. Recently, my permanent retainer broke and my teeth moved. I went back in to their office without even knowing that my retainer had been broken and they all had an attitude. When they were taking molds of my teeth they would just shove things in my mouth without telling me what was going on. They were more concerned about catching up on this week's gossip. They also insisted that I knew my retainer had broken and they expressed how annoyed they were that I "let" my teeth get this bad. They told me that invisalign was not an option, that I needed braces, that braces would cost $2500, and they didn't break down any of the costs for me. When I was done, I went to the front desk and complained about how awfully I was just treated and I got an apathetic sorry with no follow up. I was just told by another orthodontist that invisalign was indeed an option and that if I wanted to do braces they would cost $1500. read more

My daughter got braces from Dr. Homon and she got very ill. After months of searching we were told by a physician that we should check into the braces maybe she was having some kind of allergic reaction to the metal in them. We were out of town and she was very sick so Immediately we found an orthodontist and had them removed:-( She quickly recovered :-) we contacted the office and reported that we would not continue treatment because of the reaction she had. They told us we would still have to pay the full amount as if we were continuing the treatment. Very disappointing that they have little consideration for the health of my child. They are only concerned about getting paid. It cost us five hundred dollars to have the braces removed (which is a small price to pay for a child's health). Long story short...braces can be toxic to some children especially if they contain nickel. I would use an orthodontist that is concerned about health not money:-( I recommend never using this orthodontist. read more
