My wife and I recently saw Dr. Jeff Price to see if Invisalign is something that might make sense for us. We both have some teeth out of alignment and have noticed are teeth crowding more as we've gotten older. Dr. Price and his assistant were very thorough in taking pictures, examining, and explaining where our teeth were out of alignment and gave us realistic expectations for how long it would take and what limitations we might each face. We are very excited to start making improvements to our smiles! What I'm also excited about is the thought that by getting my teeth in better alignment that the weak sensitive spot along my gum line will have less pressure and could feel better. You know how when people get their braces off, sometimes you can just TELL they've spent the past two years as a brace face? That's not the case with Dr. Hutta's work, and it's one of two main reasons why I chose his practice for my orthodontic treatment. Aside from not having a 'fake' smile after my course of treatment, my other reason for choosing Hutta was the fact he is trained and specializes primarily with using the Damon Bracket System, which has great results that typically take half the time of conventional braces. As a teen, I wore braces for 4 years without treatment completion, and $12K later at the age of 23, I'm set on getting my chompers fixed once and for all. His office is in a great location, and the building has beautiful landscaping. He shares it with a Pediatrics Clinic, so it's very kid-friendly! It's very warm and inviting when you first step foot into his office, and are greeted immediately by a tank of brightly coloured tropical fish. His staff are incredibly friendly and personable, and the practice is run very efficiently-- you check into a computer, so you are serviced quicker. It's impeccably clean, and they are capable of accomodating patients of every age group, including those who may have mental or physical challenges. If you're a Buckeyes fan or a Blue Jackets fan, you'll love the decor. One examination/prep room is entirely dedicated to OSU, whereas the technical area where they do Xrays and Impressions is completely devoted to the Blue Jackets. (They even have a bench made of hockey sticks!) The walls are covered in pictures of their past patients, as the practice provides voucher coupons to get your photos done professionally once your treatment is completed. I'm not talking about school-quality photos either. Think Senior photos, and you'll have a better idea. Dr. James T. Hutta is friendly and very upbeat-- I liked him the first moment I met him! He personally does all of the adjustments for his patients in lieu of letting staff/assistants do it, and if you have any concerns, he's more than willing to sit down and discuss them with you. The rest of his staff-- Marylee and Adrian to name a couple, are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Any questions on payments, insurance, or how your treatment will go are readily answered and explained in an easy to understand way without making you feel like a child. Best people, dentists are super nice. I never have to wait. Ortho's are super professional and spend their time making sure you know what exactly you're paying for. I got Invisalign and my first set made me really sick for some reason. I called and told them and they didn't make me feel like I was crazy. Turns out whatever they clean the trays with can make people sick. They were so nice about having them cleaned again and made me feel really comfortable with my issue. My son also goes to the same place. I definitely recommend. They are kid friendly. read more

Kinda late on my update but got my braces of last summer! Dr. Hutta and his staff is amazing as usually. They have coffee and hot coco plus bottle water; you can ask the front desk about the fish tank. They're even sweet to the kids who aren't patients yet by giving them stickers or a tooth brush. They also remember every one and not just by your teeth; I'm mostly remembered by my piercings (it made a lovely x-ray lol) They are very understanding people; I had hard times paying my braces but the accountant is very helpful and will work out a new plan with you. The entire staff is outstanding. They give you the one on one attention to make your experience is a great one. My daughter and I are both going through orthodontics right now and we can not say enough great things about Dr. Hutta, Dr. Price, and the entire staff. Each person makes you feel welcomed and are willing to answer whatever questions you may have during your treatments. If something goes awry after your appointment, like a wire is poking you or a bracket came off, they make it a priority to make sure that you are seen the day you call to get the issue fixed. After visiting and consulting with several recommended orthos in the Gahanna, Westerville & New Albany area, we choose Dr James T Hutta in Gahanna. 2 years later, I can honestly say it's been a good experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr Hutta and his staff to anyone looking for an ortho. Things I like about Dr Hutta and his staff: 1) Appropriate plan of treatment: Dr Hutta's plan of treatment was realistic, not overly aggressive or over the top. One son required a little more pre-work to prepare for braces due to a sporting injury but a night retainer for a year solved that issue. Both my sons have beautiful teeth & terrific smiles now. 2) NO SURPRISES: We met before starting treatment, reviewed the plan, the costs, & the time frame. Not once did anything veer from the agreed upon plan. No hidden or extra costs. No extended treatment. No change. Period. 3) Very good communication: My questions were always answered to my satisfaction by Dr Hutta directly or his staff. 4) On time: Only once in 2 years did we have to wait more than 5 minutes for our appointment - and that that was our fault - we arrived late. 5) Office Staff: Very professional, always pleasant, clearly happy to work with Dr Hutta. read more

I could not have made a better choice when selecting an orthodontist for both my children. I was referred to Dr. Hutta by a friend who had done some shopping around. After the initial consultation, I was confident that he was the one for us. Dr. Hutta has the experience, but also the latest technology to stay ahead of the curve. I was pleased to learn the difference between the Damon brackets he uses and the traditional brackets (which I had as a child). I was so impressed with his office and his staff, that I've decided to go with Invisalign to correct the issues I've gained since adulthood. Dr. Hutta and his team at the Gahanna location are hands down the BEST orthodontist office anywhere. The entire operation is very organized and well run. The facility is clean...immaculate!! Even the decor is pretty with an aquarium that is gorgeous. They use the latest technology and materials. You will receive top of the line care here. Everyone there is kind and helpful through the entire process. They will do anything they can to help you achieve the best possible smile in the shortest amount of time. Their focus is on comfortable, happy clients. Before my treatment, my family members told me that they had great experiences there. I didn't truly understand how fantastic the practice was until I went in for myself. The office staff is great with insurance issues, scheduling appointments and taking care of financial matters. Everyone knows their jobs and they work together to create a competent environment. They run on schedule. You are never left waiting for long periods of time. If you email or call, your are responded to as soon as possible. Dr. Hutta and Dr. Price are the most down to earth guys you will ever meet. They do not act arrogant or pretentious. Their office is very busy but it doesn't affect patient care. They take time to listen! They are extremely good at what they do. They are concerned with each patient. They will not treat you like you are just another "case". It is unbelievable! They honestly care about the clients. Dr. Hutta even hosts an annual customer appreciation party! When I came to see him, I just need to tuck in my teeth a little bit. He had his assistant file my teeth. He supposed to file just a little bit for each tooth, but he ended filed a lot of one of the teeth on the left than the one on the right. He created a much bigger space on the left than on the right. After putting the braces on, my middle line shift to the left. Dr. Hutta then had me ware robber bands on the right side only to put the whole teeth to the right. That caused a much larger problem, my jaw shifted to the right. It makes me look very bad. My face is not in symmetry anymore, also created a double chin. He also gave me a retainer to ware at the end. That retainer has hooks, and they created spaced between my teeth, and since then, food stuck in my teeth all the time. Now I need to pay more than $6000 to have another orthodontist to fix my problems, and possibly need plastic surgery to get my look back. I don't know if I want to do that. James Hutta not only made the basic mistakes but also had a very bad attitude. When I argued with him about the issues he created, he was very very rude and refused to admit all the mistake he made. He made my life miserable and he is the worst of worst!!! read more

I moved to Ohio from Louisiana and needed some guidance on my retainers. Dr Hutta and his staff were incredible. It had been a few years since my retainer fit, I went in thinking my teeth had shifted dramatically shifted and another round of braces would ensue. My experience with him was terrible. I went to his office for a small problem. I just needed to tuck in my front teeth a little bit. to be able to tuck in my teeth, he told me he need to file my teeth a little bit to create some space. However,when he file my teeth, he filed the tooth on the left side more than the tooth on the right side. So after i put the braces on, my middle line shifted. To fix this problem, he then asked me to ware double robber bands on one side for fourth month. That horrible decision changed my jaw. My face does not look symmetry now. he also made a stupid retainer, it created space between my teeth. Now when i eat, food will stay between the teeth. also the retainer pushed my teeth out again. I can't believe he made so many stupid mistakes. I spent thousands of dollars and also a long time with him. he didn't fix my small problem but created a lot of much bigger problems. I hate what happened on me. the worst is that he had really bad attitude. It was miserable to visit him every time. He is very bad. read more
