Instead, it has been NOTHING LIKE like that at all! Travelers has been great! I never had to hire any adjuster. They are paying 100% of my 'structure', overage, and code limits, and 100% of my 'other structures' and 'plants' coverage. Their debris removal coverage was sufficient for me to opt out (of the Army Corp) and hire a private debris removal company. Am I underinsured? Yes. But, it says right in my policy that due to things like demand surge I could be underinsured, and I should talk to my agent about getting increased coverage. I should also note that my adjuster, Bill B. has been totally professional, clear, concise, well-spoken, and highly knowledgeable about everything. I know that Travelers took a big hit financially because of the Palisades fire. But, I have been spreading positive words about Travelers. Hopefully, good deeds are rewarded. Hopefully, all of the negligence on the part of the City of Los Angles, LADWP, and the state of California doesn't scare Travelers off for good. Politicians love to deflect blame on insurance companies. The complete opposite is true. The leaders of LA and CA have made it impossible for insurance companies to do business here. I'm lucky that Travelers was one of the last companies that stuck around and continued to insure people in the Palisades. Many got dropped by other insurance companies and had to use the pathetic California Fair Plan, and now have to sell their homes.
