I cannot tell you the amount of wildlife we saw. It was absolutely amazing. We saw Osprey and Ibis and tricolor Heron. The list goes on and on. We also saw a pair of osprey in a nest. We also saw a black vulture, a ring, neck, snake and various ducks not to mention a bald eagle juvenile. The water is beautiful. You can walk out on the dock and get a Birdseye view of the golf. They have clean bathrooms and plenty of parking. Bring your sunblock.

The sign upon entering clearly says: "No swimming allowed here" and I wondered why is that? This park is clearly on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico with a large beach area, so why no swimming? That is a great question. As you enter the park, even from my photo of the park sign at the entrance you can see this very creepy plant in the background. So I wondered if that had anything to do with the "no swimming" rules. So I did some digging & this is what I learned. The very creepy plant adjacent to this park is a power plant called the "Anclote Power Plant" owned by Progress Energy (located near Holiday, Fla. in Pasco County) It generates more than 1,000 megawatts (MW) from two steam units. "Progress Energy Florida" says it's to convert the Anclote Power Plant to CLEANER natural gas. Their webpage says that the Emissions-reducing conversion will "ALLOW" the company to comply with "NEW" federal standards. Hua? (Not good word salad folks) yikes. BECAUSE, "Currently, the plant uses oil & natural gas. The change is required to "ALLOW" the company to comply with "NEW" federal emission standards for coal & oil-fired generating units, including the EPA's new "MERCURY and AIR TOXICS STANDARDS" (MATS) rule." YIKES. (Nope, not good word salad folks) No wonder there is no swimming allowed. Do not recommend.

No parking spots were available so I had to park on the road and walk a significant amount to get to the beach. The beach was packed yet comparatively smaller than other local beaches. When you get to the beach, it is more dirt and grass than sand and the sand has a muddy, mucky consistency. The only plus is if you have kids that like to catch crabs, there's plenty of places for crabs to burrow which can be fun if that's your family's cup of tea! There is also a little playground area which can be fun for children as well.

Might have needed a flashing light warning for epileptics. Pros: Nice people, and good that it was done for charity (Hurricane relief). This one is kind of hidden and it seems like the only people who know it is there are the ones whose kids have games on the fields. The playground is small, but it's clean and shaded. The ground is mulch. There are 3 slides, quite a few swings, including baby swings, picnic tables, a nice small pond to look at, and it's fenced in. There are monkey bars and a sliding bar as well. I definitely recommend going here. My daughter is 2 and keeps herself busy. She is always so upset when it's time to go home. Lol

It's more connected with multiple areas to play as oppose to the disjointed old metal dina-eye-sour that was here. They also added more swings as well as a joint toddler and adult swing combo which allows a parent to swing with their toddler that may be to scared to swing on their own. The trees have a canopy that provides shade but I wish these were cut back just a tad bit and a reflective overhang was placed to provide shade. In the peak of the Florida heat I'm sure the plastic will get very hot. The "rock climbing" wall is a nice addition. With so many different little nooks to explore I wish there was a water fountain placed within the play area that the little kiddos could reach to stay hydrated. Parents either have to bring their own (I always do) or drag/beg their kid to leave the play area and exit to the bathrooms where the water fountains are.

So if you are from a large city, don't like nature and most comfortable with concrete, cars, city noises, etc. you will like it. I did not enjoy my experience. I walked my dog past the tiny playground that looked really old. Very short trail for bikes, short grassy trail for walkers. It looked overly manicured to me like most small yards around houses in our area. My back yard is almost as big as the only small grassy area that had a few trees, but my yard has birds, butterflies, more native plants and trees, much more enjoyable. The path was mostly sunny without shade. I walked around a lot because I wanted exercise, but ten minutes could cover the entire area even walking very slow. There are benches and a bridge that are nice but I don't plan to return. To me it was a waste of my time. I love nature and long walks so this was not for me.
