Had my appoiintment with Laura today. I had a picture of a haiirstyle that I took to another salon and came out very disappointed, Three months later and my hair is still too short for the style I'd wanted but I needed something done as I had 3 months growth on a bad style. Laura looked at the picture and agreed that my hair was too short to make it look exactly like that but felt she could get me a lot closer and by the next cut maybe I'd have the length I need. She said she could tell from looking at the pic that it was 100% a razor cut so that's what she used. She did an incredible job and my style is almost like the picture and definitely a lot more modern and edgier which is what I like. My daughter-in-law came with me and saw Cathy for a haircut and she was very pleased - her hair looks great. She also had her eyebrows done by Cathy and Cathy did a great job. It's a beautiful salon with great people working there. The price was the same as the last haircut I got at the 1st salon and wasn't happy. I would gladly pay much more to get a hairstyle and cut that I love so I feel like I got a great bargain today. Thank you Laura (and Cathy) and thank you James Edwards Salon. Best salon in St Clair Shores hands down and if u don't live in the area (like me) I would tell u it's well worth the drive. All the stylists are fab but I have to call out a few....... Cathy who is always a ray of sunshine has been doing my hair for 25 years now (MANY different cuts and MANY different colors throughout this time and I have never been disappointed). Candace - also amazing and fearless. Both my daughter and niece (who loves the crazy cuts and colors) see Candace. Then there is the owner Laura who is as talented as she is friendly and personable - my bestie goes to Laura. I have only named a few but no matter who u choose I know u wont be disappointed. Lastly I have give a shout out to Jewels- the sweetest, bubbliest person you r ever going to meet. I can't think of a better person to greet u (by name) when you come in and to make u feel comfortable and at home throughout your entire appointment. I just had a wonderful experience at this salon! I had a bad haircut last cut by a "chain" salon and grew my hair out so I could go to a professional hair salon. I looked up salons and went on previous reviews and picked this salon. I went to Laura, as the reviews recommended, and she is fabulous. First I called for an appointment and got the recorder. I didn't leave a message, she actually called me back!! As a professional myself I thought that was AWESOME! I made an appointment for the next day called in the morning to change it and she graciously changed it to accommodate my needs. When I went to the appointment she was so kind and professional at the same time. She gave me just what I wanted without me even saying it. She didn't push products on me and made me feel sooo comfortable. Other stylist came over and chatted and it felt like they are a family. I highly recommend this salon. After having the same stylist for 25 years, I was honestly nervous to make a change when her availability became limited. I decided to try James Edwards Salon based on convenience and great reviews, and I'm so glad I did. Mikayla is incredibly talented. She truly listens, takes her time, and makes sure she understands exactly what you're looking for. I've never felt rushed, and I always leave feeling confident and beautiful. I've been coming here for the past few years. Nice place. The staff and owner are wonderful. They keep the place very clean. Prices are decent, comparable to other salons, but much better quality work! Everyone there is very nice and friendly. There's a lot of talent at this place. They are a full service salon. The owner stays on top of everything, which is wonderful. She makes sure every client is satisfied. The owner also does hair. I don't see the owner, I see someone else. One evening when on-line looking for a new place to get a pedicure I decided on James Edwards because they had evening appts. I sent an email and was called by the owner, Laura the next morning and set up my visit. Jewell, my nail tech was AWESOME! Not only did I receive a fantastic pedi, more importantly (to me) I received top notch customer service and an excellent customer experience. I will definitely be a long time customer and will bring in referrals to...it's hard to find this kind of service these days and I wish I would have discovered them sooner, but I will safely say, I'm done looking now! I have no words to say about what an amazing job Laura #2 did with my lifeless, tired, stressed out blah mom look I had going on. I always pull my hair up. NOT no more. Listen to me. Just go. JUST GO!!! I had an appointment with Laura, the owner, and I kid you not, ten minutes after I left I went to go get food-- Three compliments right off the bat about my hair. The people there are nice, Laura herself is a wonder to talk to and just the kindest, and the absolute skill here is immaculate. The prices aren't crazy either!!! My 5-year-old was not in the mood for a haircut when we arrived and was pretty resistant at first. As soon as she saw Mrs. Laura, her mood completely changed and she was smiling. Laura was amazing with her, so patient and kind, and she explained everything beforehand. My daughter ended up sitting still the whole time and listened so well. I have been looking for a stylist who can color my hair blonde from black (4C Grade Hair). I walked in to a clean, welcoming atmosphere and was immediately greeted. I met with the stylist, Lara, who had experience with coloring POC hair. IT TURNED OUT GREAT! I now have a wonderful head of blonde hair. No frying, no breakage. What a beautiful experience! I went in with 3 different at home colors in my hair! I wasn't sure it was fixable! But my stylist Laura worked a miracle!
