I came here to get my makeup done for an event a few months ago, based on a recommendation that I was given. I was not sure what to expect, but I am so glad that I chose this place, because my experience was great! Staff was nice on the phone when initally booking the appointment, and on the day of, everyone working there was friendly and treated me well. Inside, the place is very cute, relaxing, and well decorated. Holly, my stylist, was super sweet, efficient and did a beautiful job- doing exactly what I had asked for. My husband got me a gift certificate and I was so excited to use it! Unfortunately me and my hairstylist didn't have a clear understanding of what i wanted, i did explain to her 3 times what i was trying to achieve with my hair but she didn't seem to get what I was saying. Everyone that works here is amazing and super sweet, however I left unsatisfied and Update as of 05/20/2018 I was contacted by the salon owner and given a full refund, shortly after. I feel really badly writing a negative review because the girl that did my hair was really nice but I spent $45 plus a $10 tip to have my hair washed, dried, and curled. I left the salon relatively pleased with my hair (even though it was expensive compared to other salons in the Village) however within an hour, my curls were completely gone and it was a complete and utter waste of my time and money. So I'm pretty unhappy with the results and unfortunately, will not be back. read more

I am a relatively new client to Skye salon. The first time was for a color correction and the second time was to change my look. I was very satisfied both times. I will start by reviewing the salon as a whole. It is very clean and cute. Now with COVID cleanliness and sanitizing policies are very important to me. I can say that I felt extremely safe being in the salon. The stations were socially distanced and everyone wore masks. I saw employees cleaning often and before new clients came in. I was very happy with my services that I received. The pricing is reasonable and the quality of service and products used are excellent. I love that olaplex treatments are offered and used during highlighting services to keep the integrity if the hair intact. I am very involved with everything that is done to my hair. I ask questions and am knowledgable about products being used. I am very particular when it comes to what is used on my hair and both times my hair felt like it was in very good condition post service. I have seen the work of multiple stylists on social media and I am sure that any would be fabulous for any hair needs you may want! Receptionists are friendly and make booking a breeze. The products for sale are very good quality too. I love the kevin murphy products. It is also so nice that you can go to this salon for hair, nails, waxing, and so much more. A one stop shop. I will definitely be trying one of the amazingly talented nail techs soon for a pedicure for my next vacation! read more

I visit Detroit every summer and last summer I was wanting to get my hair touched up. I went into Skye Salon and they made me an appointment with Jacqueline for the next day. Jacqueline was so so sweet and so talented. I was so happy with my hair and looking back it has been one of my favorite hair colors. With all the salons that are this block, sky is the one I recommend to everyone. I came in a few weeks ago scheduled with Jacklin. I find that when ever I get my hair done I try to reinvent myself....usually never works out! I wanted the red removed from may hair.....that was all I said. From there Jacklin personalized a color and suggested long layers. I can not put into words how impressed I was with her skill and formula knowledge. Well, I used to love Skye, but earlier this week I got a hair cut and highlight that I really don't like. My hair was cut way too short, but I know it will grow out fine. My highlights, on the other hand, are way too light. I would go in to have them re done, but when I called and left a message with the owner to have my stylist call me back, she never called back. Now I look like trailer trash and have to pay another $70 to get it fixed. Like I said, I used to love Skye. This is one bad story, and I'll probably go back eventually. Just make sure you're really specific about what you want your hair to look like. read more

This isn't my first time at Skye salon. My first visit was with Holly she did a wonderful job coloring my hair. My second time was with Jacqueline. She colored and cut my hair. I'm only 19 and am very particular how my hair looks. The first time I came armed with pictures of what I wanted and Holly exceeded my expectations. Yesterday I saw Jacqueline to have a color correction on an ombre..I was afraid she wouldn't be able to fix it all in one visit. All I can say is thank you...I love you girls.
