I went ahead with the cataract surgery. All my life I had coke bottle glasses. I hated them for most of my 70 years. Now I use glasses only for reading. I've been going to this practice and seeing Dr. Fitzpatrick since the age of ten (I'm now in my mid twenties) I received my first pair of glasses there and I've never gone elsewhere since. My last experience here was HORRIBLE. I've never left a doctors appointment angrier in my life. I left so disappointed by the fact that I feel as though I now have to find a new physician because of the incompetence of the staff. Their inability to verify insurance, coverage, eligibility and so on baffles me. As a patient I didn't expect to check myself in, look myself up in their system and make sure I could find my coverage with the practice. I not only had to be on the phone and on hold for an hour but also tell the staff how to look me up. With a practice who deals with different insurance carriers on a daily basis there's no secret that they have separate identities and identification websites to check eligibility and coverage. If I had access to these provider websites I would more than gladly check myself in, collect my own co-pay, and do my own eye exam prep. Unfortunately, I am their patient; I should not have to do the job of the staff while at my appointment. My experience included public embarrassment and being asked to present my and my husband's private information including full names, address, social security numbers, and more in their front doorway as other patients signed in at the front desk. I had reqeusted a private place to present that information, but the staff insisted on an open area with their other patients. This is impolite to other patients and a HIPPA violation in its own right. To leave an hour past my appointment feeling defeated and unable to see clearly, without even having been able to see my Doctor, is not my ideal day. Dr. Fitzpatrick is an amazing optometrist and I would never hesitate to refer anybody to him. I trust him and he has cared for me as well as any patient could ask for. That is what makes this so incredibly hurtful; despite the truly stellar care that he has provided me, the staff at the practice leaves so much to be desired that I find myself hesitant to return.

No eye doctor in the past had a solution for dry eye which she wrote directions for. Happy for that! I also want to mention that her staff was so friendly and helpful. They went beyond the call of duty staying until 6 o'clock to finish up with my needs. I also wanted to note that the office is in a lovely yellow Victorian, with parking in the back. At this time my appointment did not cover new glasses but I noted a large selection of them to choose from.

Although another place said I was…read morea good candidate for it, Dr. Ringel disagreed because I was suffering from dry-eye and laser (and now Lasik) would make my condition worse. Dr. Ringel has been treating me for dry-eye and found a solution that will work with my eyes. My eyes no longer itch, look red, or have pain from constant rubbing. When I was seeing flashes of light in both eyes, Dr. Ringel saw me often and referred me to a specialist for more evaluation and to concur with his diagnosis. He also caught the beginning stages of cataracts which he will treat when it becomes necessary. Dr. Ringel and his wonderful staff put patients first. They are friendly and courteous. They take the time to answer my questions, often repeatedly, without being annoyed. The Optician, Lou Giorgi, is in the same office, so my prescription is sent electronically and I don't have to travel to get glasses or contacts. Never had a problem with my glasses purchased here, and cleaning and small repairs are free. It's a personable but professional office. I had a skin tag under my eye and one on my eyelid that bothered me, but my dermatologist wouldn't remove them. A surgeon in Dr. Ringel's office, Dr. Johnson, removed them. I highly recommend Dr. Ringel, his colleagues, and staff.

Eye exams were not an option, and I was worried about not being able to order enough contacts to get me through the craziness of next few months/year. I mean, sheltering in place was bad enough...did I need to be blind while doing so? Dr. Goldschneider wrote me a script which allowed me order enough contacts for the year. I was so incredibly grateful. I knew this man would be my Optometrist for life! Fast forward to 2021, I made an appointment at his office to meet him in person for my overdue eye exam. The space is BEAUTIFUL. Modern furniture, fixtures, and equipment. And so clean you could eat off the floor. The staff was so warm and knowledgeable. I love visiting healthcare offices where the staff seems genuinely happy to be there! Safety precautions were followed, equipment was sanitized, and everyone was wearing a mask. Patient visits are staggered so no one is hanging around the waiting area. My eye exam was extremely comprehensive. The complete health of your eyes is taken into account. All was painless - zero discomfort from any of the tests! I can't say enough amazing things about Dr. Goldschneider and his staff. Do not put off your eye exam any further. Today I called for an appointment and was made to feel like I was a huge inconvenience because my last appointment was for an eye issue and not for a routine eye exam. They didn't have anything for a few months out which I totally understand. She was able to get me in at a different location in two weeks which worked out great. While I was giving her my information I sensed an attitude problem. Finished setting up appointment. Told my husband I was going and he said "hey I haven't been in a while. Can you make me an appointment too". Called back almost immediately to take the other appointment that was available except now I was greeted by even more of attitude from Mia. She made me aware that my husband wasn't a patient there. So I asked her if they accept new patients. She said ok and proceeded to ask me his information. I gave it to her. Some of the information that was the same as mine I told her "it's the same as mine" address, last name, insurance info. I guess this triggered her attitude further. She told me "you keep saying that but I can't see your info". Told her no problem. I mean there was a nicer way to say this. After even more attitude I said to her "I get the vibe im annoying you" she said "not at all" slammed the phone down and then a Jenn answered. When I asked Jenn why Mia was so aggravated she told me cause apparently I was unhappy with the availability they had which wasn't at all the case. Needless to say I won't be going back there. If you don't like your job quit or at least fake it for the patient/customers.
