He helped figure out which circuit needed to be turned off (no labels) and worked around some unique aspects of our set up. James was the only person to follow through on my request for this job so first of all, I would like to acknowledge him for that. I hired James to fill in some concrete around a property. There was a large gap between the house and patio from one end of the house to the other, a gap/hole in the foundation and general cracks in the concrete on the driveway, walkway and patio. James did an excellent job in filling in the gap that was on the side of the house, but unfortunately there is no photo included. Attached are just a couple of photos of the finished work but there was a LOT more work than just these two photos. I got a very fair quote on labor+materials for this job, considering I received a quote from another handy man company for hundreds of dollars more. My only complaint would be that after he was completely finished, I had to go back and clean up all the mess the concrete made on the garage door and the patio. However, that's what you sort of have to expect when hiring handymen, but nonetheless, I am satisfied with the results. After all, this kind of stuff is just a temporary fix! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews for people but here I am. We hired James in November to pressure wash a house that we purchased in October 2020. James was great when he first started. He showed up, as discussed, once weather permitted on November 21, 2020, and worked hard. He even took a look in our crawl space because we had an insane leak. We made the mistake of paying him on November 23. Then things got weird. Long story short, on November 27 he hit me with a message saying that he came by to finish the job but the pressure washer wasn't running correctly but that he'd finish as soon as possible. Most of his texts were incredibly hard to decipher. I was understanding. No matter the excuse, and there were many, I was understanding. Mind you, his equipment was still at our house, in our front yard; the pressure washer, a very tall ladder, some hoses. We live in Portland and I expressed to him that I was worried that someone would walk off with all of his stuff. I moved his equipment into our backyard, but not before someone walked off with the ladder. I didn't hear from James again until December 4 and the new excuse was that he had pink eye. All of that to say, we stored his equipment in our backyard until March 4. He had the audacity to imply that I was going to sell his stuff. We scheduled a time for him to come pick up his things but showed up unannounced and was pretty adamant about getting his things. I placed his items in the front yard and told him to come get his stuff and not to come back. In the end, we borrowed a pressure washer from a friend to finish the job ourselves.
