I was here for a conference and it was pretty good for conference space. There were enough tables…read moreand chairs for everyone and having a Starbucks here was great since the conference coffee wasn't the best. The bathrooms are clean and were regularly cleaned while the conference was in progress. I wish there was a water bottle filling station, but the water fountains did the trick. Like with most conferences, the chairs can grow to be uncomfortable after a while. The audiovisual equipment worked great and no one seemed to have tech issues. Now, unlike most conferences, the temperature inside was perfect. I also liked how close the parking garage was to the building, which made finding check-in easy. Since this is an arena, there were people playing basketball during the time we were there and they rang the buzzer a few times, which made the whole room jump every time (it became quite funny after a while).

I have been here for a number of occasions, graduations and other events so this visit was no different as far as the set up and layout of the events. You walk in the front entrance and through metal detectors then you find your seats and if you have any questions or concerns there are ushers to assist you at every level of the establishment!. I took off a star because the concert event was supposed another group perform but that group never showed up! But I refuse to let that stop me from attending another event here.

I enjoy coming to this facility for my sons track events. It is always clean and well maintained. I…read moreuse to come here as a kid for my brother's wrestling tournaments. The renovations they have done have made this place so beautiful. The restrooms could be better maintained but it's understandable when it's packed with people for multiple events throughout one weekend. The restrooms are never dirty, but toilet tissue and hand-soap have been scarce at times. They offer a concession area, which is pretty pricey. Today I purchased a Starbucks premade cold coffee and it was $7.50 before tax. And a small hot coffee which was $4.00. I could have gone to Starbucks and had an actual treat. The food items are also priced pretty high, for simple things, like chicken tenders. I do appreciate the staff here, very friendly, informative and welcoming. You are able to purchase tickets online which makes entry easy, they also allow you to purchase entry tickets at the ticket windows, outside. Overall this is a very well run facility. I've patronized a few other sportsplex for my children's sporting events and this one is by far my favorite.

Full disclosure. I'm not a huge baseball fan and I've been to a Tides game before, but this time…read morearound was really fun! I believe it was due to the level of experience I had. If you have the opportunity to see a Tides game and have access to the picnic area that's the way to go! I had tickets via a corporate event and we had seats in section 117 which is down in front closer to 3rd base, but also include access to the picnic area which had a better view and included up to an hour and a half duration of food. The food served is dependent on the menu choice the organizer paid. We had menu 1 which consisted of hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, potato salad, cookies and nonalcoholic beverages. Staff replenished some of the food, but the chips and potato salad and cookies went fast! Their hamburgers and hot dogs are really tasty too! I enjoyed the spread! I think another menu option may include fried chicken, pulled pork bbq, coleslaw and potato salad as well but we didn't have that menu. You can choose to return to your seats to watch the game or remain in the picnic area. I felt the picnic area was a more pleasant experience and had a better view of the field. Most of the area is covered, with a 1/4 of the seating uncovered closer to the field. They have bar counter top seating closest to the field and picnic tables and some four tops. The set up for food was efficient and has both side access for two lines. They have two food buffet areas, At the time there was another company that had an event as well and had the other buffet with chicken. Drinks are served at the picnic concession counter and the women that manned it were friendly and efficient! They also have bathrooms in the picnic area which was nice! The games have fun little silly mini events to break up the monotony between innings. We happened to have great weather that day ! There was a light breeze, wasn't too hot nor humid. I recommend bringing sunglasses and or hat to help keep the sun at bay. You can look on their website regarding parking options. Lot C is the only lot you can pre- pay online for and parking for LOT C is available up until first hit at 6:30pm as long as the lot doesn't sell out prior. ($7), the other lots are first come first serve and is credit card only. I believe the park is cashless pay. Other parking options are riding the light rail or parking at MacArthur mall for free. If you have game tickets light rail rides are free 2 hours before game time.

Such a great place to spend with family and friends! This park is clean, well maintained and…read morebeautiful!! We have great seats in section 117!! Just went to see Floetry last night. The first two acts sound was on point. Floetry came on and the…read moresound was extremely loud. The Band was all we really heard until they told the band to stop so we could sing with them. Love this group!! They need Sound Editing so they will not blow our eardrums out and we can actually hear the group singing. We left early, but I still love Floetry!! I was excited to see them LIVE!

Let me say we are BIG concert goers and visit many venues in Northern Virginia, Richmond Area and…read morethe Tidewater Area. With that said - this is a really decent venue. First the venue itself. After attending several events here in the past couple years, we have never seen an issue before. Staff and security have always been pleasant and helpful. The cleanliness of the grounds, facility and even the restrooms have always been kept well. Food & beverage prices are not the worst for a venue. Now as for my rating. I will easily give this location a 5 star rating. But I would be wrong if I didn't mention a real issue that occurred on May 3, 2024 - General Parking. Was just awful. As you can see from the picture you can see the entrance to the area my small Hyundai had to jump over. Someone put a tiny board to I guess "help" cars get up over the curb. Needless to say it was worthless. Now there is construction all over the area and I'm guess this is why they are making this area General Parking. Since I don't recall ever having an issue until now. So I didn't ding the facility on this, but my guess is the city of Portsmouth is mostly responsible for this issue. But it is a real problem. Also recommend that if you're going to a show during this early 2024 season that you see if parking is going to be a problem. I don't know how long this is going to last. Parking in this area quickly filled up - causing folks to double and triple park. So go early to get a spot and be prepared to tailgate for a little bit at the end of the night so you can move your vehicle out.
