Really fun. Arcade has two halves. The VR rides are very neat, but the headsets need to be updated. Some of us have large heads and need bigger straps or more secure fittings that don't take 45 minutes to put on. Only one pool table, but at least it's the kind where the balls roll on through and don't just hang in a leather sac for the next player to remove. Game cards are used for rewards and payment. So always keep an eye on the amount, using the handy card checking machines throughout the facility. There are lots of moving lights, blacklight effects, and loud noises, so if you have any sensory issues, please use discretion and consider these elements before you decide to pay a visit. The prizes are typical arcade fare. Nothing too exciting, but at least you can get some silly toys or a quick bite of candy! Overall, it is a pretty cool place to check out every now and then. But the selection would get tiresome if one were to stop by frequently.

Found this gem today after checking out the Boardwalk. It was clean, friendly staff and wonderful!! We loved the choices of games and the prices were great! Definitely going back again .... and again and again!!!

We came back again this year and so happy to return. One of my favorite places at Virginia Beach and I always spend $50 minimum every time. It was clean, no trash anywhere and staff maintained the place well. Everyone in there seemed to enjoy themselves. I wish I had somewhere like this close at home.

If you or your loved ones are in VA Beach and are looking to spend a little time in an arcade, you should definitely opt for Flipper McCoy's. My boyfriend and I first went to another, smaller arcade on the oceanfront, where we had a good time. However, we then went up the street a few blocks to Flipper McCoy's and--with its better ticketing system and larger game selection--simply had a better time. Though both arcades (like all...) are pricy, we told ourselves "we're on vacation!" and decided to go for it. And, we're glad we did! Here, games don't show as costing credits but, rather, and average $1.25 from on your game card. You first have to buy ($1) and load (any amount) a game card with as much or as little money as you want before you can play. Then, as you go around, you swipe your card until it's empty / time to reload. This arcade had many games to choose from, spread out in two different rooms and extending to the back of the building. I was especially happy about Doodle Jump, skeeball, and coin pusher; my boyfriend was excited about Guitar Hero, basketball, and ball drop. There was something for everyone, any age. There were kids, parents, adolescents, 20-somethings--you name it. We were all enjoying ourselves. When it came time "cash out," we were met with a very friendly man at the prize counter. They have a great system here, where the attendants total up your tickets, you point to what you want, they scan a barcode, and your remaining points are automatically shown on a TV screen above. No old-school calculator! They had everything from candy to electronics. We opted for candy, a bouncy ball, a slinky, etc. A bunch of small stuff that totaled up to our ticket earnings. In an hour or so, we spent a little more than $50 together (two people). It would certainly have been (too) easy to spend more money, though--so be careful! :-)

We stopped by this past week with our toddler who had an absolute blast! Facilities are very clean and there are sanitizing stations all around. Great variety of games and staff is nice. One of the highlights of our trip!

Nice to see some of the classic arcade games that still play for only a quarter. I used to be pretty good at Galaga and Ms. Pac Man and even Donkey Kong. I guess my reflexes aren't what they used to be, since a decade *cough* or two *cough* has passed since I played them with my allowance. Shoot 'em up games, joystick games, even the riding driving motorcycle games are here. Not everything's a quarter, but they do run on quarters instead of silly tokens. Hooray for that. Flipper McCoy's is decently lit and has the usual Skeeball to get tickets and then turn in the tickets for some piece of cheap trinket. But that's the fun, right?

I got my "Geek" on and checked out Flipper McCoy's on a cool weekday Virginia Beach morning. With the tourist departing the beach Atlantic Ave. was dead city. It was quite a strange sight to see for the most part senior citizens meandering the sidewalks. This was my first visit to Flippers, I had no idea what to expect. Located around 20th and Atlantic it's a pretty easy business to identify with it's large sign. The walks for the most part were clear of debris with minor cigarette butts. The exterior windows needed cleaned. The area is about as safe as any other place on the beach. The doors were ajar welcoming customers to come on in... which I did. I was greeted by a bank of Skee Ball games which I love. They had around six of them which is pretty good. I only see these in Chuckie Cheese which I try to avoid at all cost. What was not impressive was the carpeting which was in poor condition. There was also a slight funky odor that I could not put my nose on. I made my was around on the right side of the business and saw three pool tables there were in very good condition. Most impressive was the vintage 80's arcade games such as Pac Man, Mrs. Pac Man, Centipede and easily a dozen more. The prices for the games that I saw were $1, a little pricey. I then began to move in the center and saw a full wall of driving machines of all kinds. Everyone appeared to be in service. There is also an air hockey room with two tables. The service counter is located here and a woman was manning the area and able to answer questions. A couple of change machines are in the middle of the joint. There were a few customers, but for the most part the place was empty. I then made it to the very rear and thought this place is really expansive. There I found the shooting gallery which was down for maintenance, a man said it would be back up later today. This is also where you will find the half dozen vintage pin ball machines which were all in working order. I had my hopes on find my favorite all time machine that I played in 1980 "Time Warp". I have yet to find that machine any where since this time. Overall I would say Flippers is a pretty cool place and an awesome fit for the beach and families. I am not really sure how they sustain themselves well during the off season, but maybe the weekend crowds are big enough to bring in enough dough to keep the humming away.

On a burning hot night, the cold A/C immediately brought us in... But they have a lot of fun arcade games with relatively low prices (highest we saw was $1.00 per play). It was a week night so there were not many wait times for us. In the end, we won 1500 tickets and got a decent size stuffed animal for our dog to tear apart.

Adult version of Chuck E. Cheese. They were spacious and plenty of games to choose and play for both kids and parents. Price is not too high and falls within reasonable. Prizes at the end are almost as same as Chuck E. Cheese. Staff is friendly. Not much security around the game area tho. They do not have tickets printing out. It automatically goes into the card.

Only a fraction of a great hangout place.

    Do they have coin pushers?

Yes, they had the Plinko ones where once the letters light up, the bonus wheel spins. Fun!

Do they have real blowing and laser tag, or is it just a mini or fake version?

Its not a bowling alley. But the laser tag is the entire upstairs. Land sea and air themed. Pretty awesome

We started at the bowling alley (our main event), and the lanes were clean, the scoring system was intuitive, and the party host made sure our group was set up and having fun. Despite a lot of guests bowling at once, wait times were reasonable and the lanes had comfortable seating areas for everyone to relax between turns. Apex has a gigantic arcade, axe throwing, bumper cars, an immersive dark ride, escape rooms, high-speed go-kart racing, Hologate VR, laser tag, mini golf, pool tables, a ropes course, and even sports simulators! If you can't find something you enjoy here, it probably doesn't exist. Everything was well-maintained, and the staff at each attraction were friendly and helpful, making sure everyone knew how to play and was having a good time. Food and drinks definitely exceeded my expectations for an entertainment venue. The bars are fully stocked, and the food menu ranges from classic favorites to more upscale options like pizza, burgers, wings, and salads were all fresh and tasty. Our server was attentive, had great recommendations, and was super quick with drink and food orders, which made our party even more enjoyable. Our only issue was when we went to the floor with the escape room to purchase tickets the person who helped us let us know what time the next escape and axe throwing session were and then we asked if we could do the minigolf course before the escape room. She said yes and charged us for it. Originally we had asked for 2 separate checks since we were with friends. But she just did it on one check and split the cost. She gave us only on receipt for it. When we went to the mini golf course there was a wait of about 8-9 people just for the first hole because of how over filled it was with kids. Kids just running around everywhere. We went back and just asked for a refund for the mini golf and we would just wait for the escape room since we didn't realize it was that packed with kids in there. We only had 25 minutes to kill and the first hole alone would take us those 25 minutes. The same person did the refund BUT she didn't tell us it would not be a refund but put it on two apex gift cards to use as credit....... She did not communicate this to us at all. She just said here you go and handed us those cards. I asked what is this and she said your refund.... That is not a refund that's like store credit. And we wouldn't have minded that if she just communicated it was non refundable.

I kept the children at the table because the food was to be served at 1045 but was not served until 1100 which made it more difficult for us to stay on schedule. 5. The "unlimited" green games was very unfortunate as the amount of green games was extremely minimal. I was very shocked at how little games were actually green. It would be very nice if after the $10 is spent that the kids could still play any game but just not receive tickets. That truly limited them and was such a bummer. 6. Multiple cards (to include my birthday boys bracelet) stopped working even for green games. While they worked to fix this it took away even more of their playing time which was very frustrating. The employees also wanted to know which kid and which games specifically thinking it was a game issue so that too took time to work through. 7. The gratuity auto placed on the receipt is not just on food but also on the cost of the game cards which is strange. My cousin was visiting from out of town and he had mentioned it would be cool if there was a ferris wheel near the ocean. The ferris wheel here came to mind. As long as I've lived here I had always passed by it but never rode it. Upon entering my cousin got excited about the (water gun) game. The employee running it was pleasant and we got a bunch of smiles out of him. It was really fun and my cousin won a super cute tiger for a family member of ours. It came with a hefty price tag though. Before we even played I told him he would be better off just buying a stuffed animal in a store. But the prize he was seeking ticked off all the boxes. Plus there's a fun, enjoyable story to tell behind it. It cost $30 total to win. Yeah I know. It actually was truly enjoyable but if he hadn't been visiting I would have never came to check out this Fun Park. After that we rode the ferris wheel which was a good time as well. You are able to see the ocean from it, which was nice. It was great to have a different perspective of VA Beach. Tickets were roughly $6 a piece. Each ride takes a certain number of tickets and you purchase them at the ticket booth right across from it as well for tickets to other rides. You get 3 full rides around on the wheel. We were the only ones on it too. They do accept credit card but they tack on a 3.5 % service charge to do so. We roamed the rest of the park just to check it out. The other rides look pretty beat. It was so quiet in there, for me that's a plus because there were no crowds and it was rather peaceful. However, it was so quiet that when we looked around I didn't notice the ride attendants standing around their station. They looked like permanent fixtures of the rides. It was eerily quiet for a fun park on a September Sunday afternoon. It would've been a perfect backdrop setting for the beginning of a zombie apocalypse movie. It felt like a place where hopes and dreams come to die. What actually brought life to the park were the colorful, beautiful hibiscus flowers dispersed throughout the grounds. We spent roughly 30-45 minutes there. There aren't many rides and they could use some sprucing up. It has potential. It also has a high price point because it's at the oceanfront.

I normally don't do carnival ferris wheels, however, this ferris wheel was a very good experience and worth it. The wheel circles high enough to get a good high view of the skyline of Virginia Beach at night. The ride and game attendants were also friendly. Overall a good experience.
