The nursing staff is terribly aparently understaffed. They do not respond to the buzzer for assistance to go to the bathroom or any needs. If you are self sufficient, nice place but if you need anything you are on your own. Mother had to get out of bed by herself because no one would respond. Luckly she did not fall. Nurse told her they were understaff and response time would not improve. We got mother out of there as fast as wee could.

The staff as I have experienced them, have all been polite and kind to my mother, and yes, I ask her every time I see her. Yes, she can't wait to go home, and I wouldn't have that any other way. Why four stars and not 5? The food (lunch and dinner) is a bit unimpressive, and I can certainly see how someone there for more than a couple of weeks would consider that an issue. As for our family no two-day period goes by where one of us is not vising her, so we just remember to bring her a little dietarily appropriate treat, and she is good to go.

He came out worse after being there for 4 weeks than he was when he went in! He was making good progress with the therapists at mercy before going to the Quarters! I ended up having to hire someone privately to go on to the facility to do all these things since the staff was so incompetent! Run far way from this place! You think it would be nice since it is in a good area and nice enough facility but do not be fooled!

It didn't go well! My father was in the hospital with pneumonia and came in through the ER via…read moreambulance! The EMS had him diagnosed with an infection when he arrived. The ER was quick to respond and fast acting. That's about where the good ends and the bad begins. They missed meals while admitted, they almost let him bleed out and had to call a code team to respond. He is on blood thinners but was treated the entirely wrong way! I don't want to freak people out so I'm not posting pictures. They were doing the exact opposite of what everything on the Internet said to do and a DR even admitted they were doing it wrong. Then even after this was finished and we requested ENT to look at him he was released to rehab where he had another nose bleed even worse and they had to put a rhino rocket in for 72 hours. No pain meds were given until requested and the 12 hours later he had only gotten one dose. Mind you I was there during 90 percent of this and he is for all intents and purposes non verbal. The nurse felt bad and was very attentive after she didn't realize he hadn't gotten any pain or anxiety medicine for having an almost 3 inch ballon in his nasal passage. Like WTF. I'm so pissed I can't imagine if he had no one to advocate for him what would they have done to him. A year ago I would have been in jail after the first part of this experience for a long time. This is disgraceful. I forgot to mention. The first morning I came in his entire bed was soaked in urine sheets and all and I have photo evidence of all of this. It is atrocious and negligent! I have even tried contacting several people in the hospital and told I would be contacted and haven't heard back and I told them hey had 48 hours before I began my journey to exposing them. 5 days and many other things to report we are going to the state health and senior services after this and we will not stop. I'm one thing and that is tenacious and I will get you on the news and hopefully have our day in court with you Mercy! Good luck! So much more to say but seriously try and keep your family out of everything but the ER and know what your family member needs and don't leave them alone there it will be bad if you do.

I know not of one positive thing, I can share. Nursing staff is lazy and rude. A nurses aid abused me daily. My family reported this. We were assured by the Head of Nursing & the Supervisor they were so sorry, she would be moved to another floor. One week later she was back in my room. It could take 3 hrs. to get something for pain. Cleaning was not a top priority. The food smells disgusting, looks disgusting and taste disgusting. I left early so sick I went to the ER. Nurses at NHC kept telling me there was nothing wrong with me. Yet when I would walk 12 steps my oxygen dropped to 71. Oxygen should never drop lower than 88. In the ER doctors would each ask where have you been. NHC of course. NHC is infested with numerous bacteria. I acquired 5 of them, Pneumonia, Corona Virus, MRSA, Rhino Virus & Para Influenza. I ended up in hospital for 9 days on intense antibiotics. Since I had this break in Physical Therapy insurance refused covering anymore. Even though I still had days left to use. Within an hour it changed to I was going home. I have stairs into the house that I have not been instructed to accomplish. Please don't do this to your family member.

You ask some of them questions and they act like you're bothering them. The floor charge just sits at the desk and appears to never do rounds. It's so sad that this home isn't at the top of the list of neglectful homes with senior services. My aunt says it feels like jail and the food tastes like shit which is why we have to bring snacks in case she doesn't want her meal. I wish we could remove her from that home but our hands are tied because my aunts granddaughter has all the power and lives out of state. Anyone considering putting their love one in NHC. DONT DO IT!!

My father passed away there and let me tell you I do not even know where to start with how carless and abusive these people are. Let's start with Carrie the director (where are you at with the investigation on my dad when one of the nurses ended up yanking the catheter out of him (SP CATH) and ended up in the hospital, we asked several times what happened and nothing, you blew us off and made excuses. Turnover rate is outstanding, never know who is taking care of your loved ones. Whey even have a nurse call light if no one shows up. ( how do i know ? bc i pulled the call light several times and no one comes) you have to walk out to the nurse's station and ask them to help... and with an attitude someone might show up. This story is unfortunate and a small piece of what my father experienced.
