Their idea of compassion versus the actual meaning of compassion needs to be revisited and…read morecorrected. It literally means "to suffer together". Pick up a dictionary and learn it, you clearly need to. As a business that (proudly) profits from people's grief, some of it should be applied. My dealings were strictly with MEGAN LANGDON. Sweet to your face but once the initial meeting and Paperwork gets done, the sugar melts away, and so good luck trying to get a hold of her after the fact. Multiple attempts and then I found out why.... she "FORGOT" the lock of hair I had requested during the consultation, literally 20 minutes after they took possession of my mothers' body. (First off, compassion would be to let the family breathe for a few minutes before throwing plans and fees at them), my mother had passed only a few hours before. That said, I had made the request for the lock at this time and was assured it was a common ask and it was no problem. She wrote it down. When asked about the lock of hair days later, she VERY COLDLY and BARELY took accountability, (and even admitted that she wrote it down), short and brief and with tone saying that they would cover the $30 cost of mailing her ashes I had requested, hoping it would make her mistake go away. When I told her that I was hurt and angry because it could never be rectified and that I would prefer to pay for shipping, she ignored it and said I needed to give my address to send. It took several more attempts where I had to get my husband to get involved to take over to make the arrangements, and they were short and brief with him as well. When they finally complied, the package showed up and was left on my front step in ONLY what looks like a large pill bottle squeezed into a little bubble pouch. NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED??????!!! Nowhere is that an acceptable way to treat ANYONES remains!!!!!!! Not only did she forget the lock of hair, and that can never be rectified as aquamation was chosen which is essentially a chemical cremation (and when researched, is it in no way a greener solution to any other option, as all of it is simply flushed into our water system, but they'll sell it to you that way, which is criminal in and of itself), but to almost step on them on my way out of the house?! How is this acceptable to anyone?! This is a life event, the kind that is so painful that is does not just dissipate easily or quickly, if at all. Every second is committed to memory and to pollute their remains with incompetence and complete disregard is quite criminal. There has been no apology, from anyone, no "suffering together" as their moto so proudly pitches. There is no luxury of MISTAKES afforded in an industry dealing with people's grief. It is called NEGLIGENCE. Plain and simple. Let me reiterate this. It is NEGLIGENCE. ( Noun: failure to take proper care in doing something)
