My family and I recently became members of James River Church, and it's been an incredible journey. The ministry, led by Pastor John & Debbie Lindell, is truly inspiring. Pastor John's messages, filled with depth and wisdom, have profoundly impacted us. The involvement of their children, Brandon, David, and Savannah adds a special dynamic to the church, making each service not only unique in its essence but also relatable and engaging. The children's program here deserves a standout mention. It's exceptional in how it nurtures and entertains the kids, making it a space where they can learn and grow in a fun, safe environment. My family appreciates the effort and care that goes into this program. What really cements our love for James River Church is the community. It's a vibrant and welcoming group of people who made us feel at home from our very first visit. There's a genuine sense of belonging and togetherness here that we cherish. I never thought such a big church could be a small closely-knit family - it's amazing. Our boys are flourishing here, we are spiritually growing here and in many ways are encouraged and inspired. I've been attending and involved for many years hear. I can see through superficial things. I am in no way swayed by hype. I find the word of God honored here in the teaching and its people. We are all sinners striving to be what Gid would want us to be. It has never been about the money. Those who think it is have no idea where the offerings go to, they are certainly allowed to view. I feel that the devil puts those kind of walls up in people who try to sound strong in their opposition to anything they find uncomfortable in a church, no matter the size of denomination. These are the things placed between you and Gods promise that separate you from a true worship experience. James River Church is amazing I have always wanted to go there and get baptized. I am getting baptized this weekend so I am very very very excited you guys rock and all of your singing is amazing!! I want to see you for church this weekend and after church this weekend I will get baptized. Your host in every room is amazing they have helped us in so many ways! Like it we didn't know with bathroom with they helped us get to it if we got to church late and needed seats they helped us find! You guys truly are the best!! We have never had a bad experience here, so we suggest everyone comes to this church they probably have over 200 people come per each service!! How awesome is that?! Pretty cool right! James River Church is a great church for people of all ages to get connected to a body of believers and grow in their faith. I have personally grown so much in my understanding of God's Word since first attending in 2014 and would recommend it to anyone who is looking to learn more about God or take their next steps in a deeper walk with Jesus. Some people may look at the church and think it is too big to become actually connected, but their are programs in place that make it easy to meet people and grow in community. I have made lifelong friendships here that I wouldn't trade for anything and have met people who have supported me through so much! I started attending James River Church in 1993 and have called it my church home for 13 of the last 26 years. My wife and I met and married at James River and then spent several years moving around the US. We returned in 2012 to find it was the same wonderful church it was in the 90's! I start attending as a teenager and now all 3 of our teenage kids are a part of the church, how cool is that?? I started attending JRC in 2008 while I was a student in the area. The more I learn about the leadership of this church, the more thankful I am for them. They are the real deal. They care about reaching people, helping people grow in their faith, investing in the next generation, and teaching the entirety of scripture. It's a VERY welcoming community. They really stand as an example of what a good church looks like. And contrary to prior comments, JRC has NEVER required people to tithe in order to attend the church. read more

Absolutely LOVE all that the church offers for all ages. My 6 year old has a blast and leaves each time with a story she can retell from the service she was just in. My infant is always well cared for and always has a clean diaper when we pick her up after service. (This is HUGE to us.) They do a lot of cool stuff with teenagers and give a really strong Jesus-centered message in their services. James River Church is an absolutely outstanding church with phenomenal pastors, excellent congregation, and the greatest staff this side the Mississippi. I've been attending since August 2k18, and have fallen in love with every aspect of the Church. The worship here is next level. There isn't a single service that feels "normal".
