I had a great experience at Dr Wang's office yesterday. I went for a skin cancer check, as I've never had one and noticed some possible weird mole activity. The office is standard issue medical vibes, but the front desk staff was friendly and thanks to online check in completed earlier when I made my appointment, I didn't have to sit and do paperwork. After a 15 minute wait, I was asked back into one of the treatment rooms. Dr. Wang and his assistant were very easygoing and even funny, answering all questions easily. I got a mole hit with liquid nitrogen (ow) and another checked for cancer using a new tech called DermTech, which was non painful and so fast! We set up my follow up appointment for next month, and I was sent on my way. read more

I dropped into the H.B. office with a referral, but without an appointment. The front desk was exceptionally friendly and efficient, really listened to my concerns, and squeezed me in to see P.A. Kellie in less than 15 minutes. I give Kellie 10/10 for her warm professional manner and knowledge. I felt comfortable, informed, and completely satisfied with the consultation. I Went to see Dr Wang for something I needed him to look at on my skin today. I have been his patient now for many years and every time i go in for a visit I get excellent medical advice and I am greeted positively by his professional staff. His knowledge of skin issues is amazing. I have always been very well taken care of and get all my questions answered. Dr. Wang is very easy to talk to and has a very good personality which makes the entire experience positive. I have recommended Dr. Wang to my friends and family and they all think highly of him. I had the worst experience with James T Wang's office I bought a package of 4 IPL's for $280 and after the second session the doctor realized they had made a mistake and did not advise me of what had happened. I made an appointment 2 months later for my 3rd IPL appointment after driving 1 hour away the nurse tells me that they will not grant the next 2 sessions cause they realized that they had made a mistake on the price. The doctor never came out to talk to me the nurse let me in the lobby waiting and waiting never came out to talk to me or to communicate with me. The doctor never came out to apologize or to try to made things better. I feel like this is so unprofessional of this office not to take care of a paying customer after all I had paid what they asked and in returned I didn't get my 2 procedures done. I would rather go to an office that makes you feel like a human being and not an animal waiting for a leftover. I was so disappointed if this Huntington beach and Rancho Santa Margarita office. This review is long overdue. 2 years ago I had a growth in my back that hurt at the touch. Two urgent care doctor opinions later it sounded like it could be something scary and was recommended to go to a dermatologist. Dr. Wang was local to where I lived at the time and I asked if I could be seem immediately. He was booked for the next couple weeks, but after hearing my situation made room for me the next day! His opinion was to have it removed and tested which generally requires making another appointment and coming back. He understood and felt sympathy for my situation, shuffled his appointments around, and used part of his lunch break to have it removed the SAME DAY. Two days later I received a call that it was negative to cancer and what a relief that was, especially being in my friend's wedding two days later. I could not recommend Dr. Wang enough he is kind, profession and very good at his job! read more

Dr Wang is fantastic! My husband and I have been going to him for years. He dealt with my skin cancer on my face and I've been told the scar is barely noticeable! We went to an apt once with our grandson and he showed him some neat trick with the liquid nitrogen. We currently live about 5 hours away but continue to make our annual visits to keep him as our Dermatologist. read more

I had this little thing on my arm for a few years - my family doctor called it a (forgive me for butchering this) hemangioma. It basically looks like a small blood blister, except that this one never went away. My doc, who is next door, told me to see Dr. Wang. Making an appt was a breeze, and with a $35 co-pay I was in a waiting room instantly. The Dr. came in, asked me a few questions, and in minutes had me in another room cauterizing this thing off of me while asking questions about my job. He had a great attitude, easy bedside manner, and he never once made me feel like I was being rushed in and out of the office. If anything weird sprouts up on my body as I age, this is the man I'm going to see. read more

I really liked Dr. James Wang. I picked him out of over 15 doctors I had listed under my insurance. So I called to make an appointment to see him. The secretary took down my information and scheduled an appointment for me. She took my insurance down too. One of my complaints was that she was kind of difficult to understand. In person, it's actually not bad at all! But over the phone, it adds a muffled-ness so I actually wasn't even sure of the date of my appointment. She also asked for my number to give me a call about my upcoming appointment. I never got the call btw. Now it comes to my actual appointment. I get there and the secretary is a bit unwelcoming. I kind of guessed what I had to upon arrival because she didn't say anything to me until I mentioned I was here for an appointment. And even then, she kind of just looked at me. But she proceeds to tell me "I don't know if you received a call..." regarding my insurance. Apparently, I don't have full benefits with them. Something about the network so my insurance basically doesn't cover anything until I reach a certain price. She didn't do her job if she didn't even know if I got a call when it's her job to have called me. I still saw Dr. Wang because of his reviews. I really really liked him. But his staff, not so much. The minimum office visit came out to $100. Overall, Dr. Wang seemed to really know what he was doing. He seems so knowledgeable and I was able to ask all the stupid questions without being judged! And I would definitely go back to him if my insurance FULLY covered him. I actually wish I could. But I really don't like his staff. Very off-putting. read more

Giving this place a one star based on how poorly run the front office is. I've called all day today to schedule an urgent appointment and while the phone rings a message picks up saying they are on the other line or with a patient and to leave your name and number and they will call you back. Called again at 2 pm and now the answering service says they are closed. Pretty annoying considering their hours on yelp and their website say they are supposed to be open till 5 pm. read more

This is the worst run doctors office. My son is on accutane and has to get his blood drawn monthly. Twice we have run into problems caused by the office. The first time the office was supposed to fax over the blood order. I had spoken to Angelica the day before about it and she assured me it would be done. We showed up to the lab and sure enough the fax was never sent. So I had to call the office and wait for them to fax it. The second time we went to the lab, the form the dr office had given me was not a standing order. (It should always be a standing order as he gets his blood drawn monthly). So we had to leave and I again had to call the office for thento fix their error. Every time we go, we have to wait a good hour before being seen by the doctor. As soon as my son is done with his treatment, I will be finding another doctor. read more

waste of money.. went in to get a lesion on my chin checked out.. I had a similar procedure done before where they froze it (cryotherapy) and scraped it off.. this time the PA (was hoping I'd see an actual dermatologist but didn't) didn't really seemed like she knew what she was doing..she picked at it thinking there's a cyst in there and used liquid nitrogen.. anyway, it's still there.. to make matters worse, i get a bill for over a $100 saying my insurance didn't cover much of it.. why wasn't I told this in the beginning.. basically I paid $150 ($50 officce visit), a $100 on top of whatever my insurance paid for what seemed like a waste of time... ripoff.. read more
