Absolutely awful living experience. This complex is overrun with geese, meaning you have to watch…read moreyour step anytime you go outside because you might be stepping in goose poop. This is especially bad if you live near one of the ponds at either entrance, or the river on pine grove court. The walls and floor boards in the 2 bed 1 bathroom apartments are horrendous. It was actually insane how annoying it was listening to the people above us step everywhere around their apartment because all the floorboards creaked with each step. This disrupted the quality of life significantly because we could hardly go 30 minutes without hearing floorboards creaking and stomping above us. We could also hear our next door neighbor coughing through the wall and would hear his phone ringing, it's ridiculous how thin the walls are. Management is an absolute joke and do not take anything seriously. Whenever you bring up an issue, they just give you the same generic robotic response such as "we are sorry for the inconvenience, and assure you Muirwood is doing everything we can to help you!" And then nothing. You get ghosted until you reach out again. Most of the office staff is rude and condescending and don't communicate properly with one another. When moving out, we turned our keys in on April 29 (move out April 30). On May 3, we got an email from one of the managers at Muirwood asking when we plan on returning our keys... I emailed back saying we already returned them. No response for two days. I email back after the two days pass and ask what the status is and the manager says "yes we have your keys". Is there no communication occurring at all? Maintenance is also a complete joke, but I give them the benefit of the doubt since there aren't that many of them. They take a very, very long time to complete work orders and will often leave your apartment with dirty boot prints and debris. If you have a dog, good luck getting any work orders completed. They expect you to lock up your dog when they come to complete work orders, but you have absolutely no idea when they will come. Sometimes it takes a week to complete a work order, sometimes two or theee. There is no communication beforehand on when they are coming, so that just makes it all worse. Now there were a few good things about Muirwood, but the cons heavily outweigh the pros. The fitness center was pretty nice and I went there several times a week. Although there was about a 3-4 month period where the filter in the water fountain needed to be replaced, then they finally changed it. The community itself it actually quite pretty and it was very convenient having Busch's and other stores within walking distance. It's also nice to be able to walk to downtown Farmington in about 20-30 minutes. Even with some positives, I would never recommend living here. The overall experience was terrible, and after just a few months my roommate and I were counting down the days until we moved out. Do not waste your time and money here.

When I first attempted to give my 30-day notice, I was told it would not be accepted and that I had to give a 60-day notice instead. After completing the 60-day notice, I was then finally allowed to submit a 30-day notice so I could avoid being charged for October rent. Throughout this process, I communicated repeatedly with Simone in the office (as she was always the only person I was directed to speak with). I also spoke with Pam. I made it very clear each time that I needed to know exactly what fees or charges I would be responsible for. Simone reassured me several times that the only payment I would owe was September's rent. However, after moving out, I was charged an early move-out fee--a charge I specifically asked about multiple times and was told I would not owe. When I called to ask why I was being charged, Simone became upset with me and told me that "as an adult," I should read my lease, even though I had been trying to clarify everything in advance and relied on the information she provided. It was extremely unprofessional and disappointing, especially after being a resident for four years. Overall, my move-out experience felt misleading and stressful. I would strongly recommend that future tenants get every answer from management in writing, because verbal assurances were not honored in my case.

The place overall is well-kept and the rents are reasonable. The community is full of nice neighbors who will just about greet you and make small-talk on a daily basis. Work orders are placed easily either by direct e-mail or the phone app, and they get to it in 1-2 days. Trash pick-up is daily every weekday morning in the front yards too. There is a small gym in the clubhouse (pool) with a few treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, cable machine, and dumbbells going up to 50 pounds. Free continental breakfast every first of the month when you drop off your rent. A few events being held with free food and lottery prizes. Other things are that this is right in front of Target, whichever way you go down Southfield Rd is a whole bunch of restaurants and businesses, and the Beaumont hospital is nearby. In all, I would highly recommend this apartment complex (and from what i've seen, this place gets only few openings due to how long their tenants stay).

They will be sweet and tell you lies so you sign the lease and later make your life difficult. They don't treat tenants fairly and equally. They will make sure to teach you a lesson for standing up for yourself and will deduct your security deposit by lying. You won't feel safe or inclusive at citation club. Please stay away from citation club and if you are already a tenant then only communicate through emails to keep a proof because they will deny all verbal communications. Member of citation club management walks his dog unleashed and management ignored and dismissed my concerns. Management attitude is discriminatory, unprofessional and condescending towards tenants. They really don't care about you or your concerns. Maintenance requests will be delayed for weeks and months. They will close maintenance requests as completed even without doing any work. They will ignore your emails and requests or just reply in a typical customer care way "we are sorry, we will schedule", but nothing will happen. Also maintenance services are done poorly and low quality, same things will keep on breaking again and again. They don't care about your privacy. Window blinds keep on breaking and they delayed or completely ignored my requests for replacement. One time entire heavy window blind fell on the back of my head. Black mold In bathroom, water leakage from ceilings, bad horrible smell, insects/centipedes, everywhere. Tobacco and marijuana smoke is common, you will smell that even inside your apartment including bedrooms. Please don't fall into their sweet trap and don't sign the lease. Read website one star reviews. I agree with them.
