Lack of integrity I…read morehave always felt very positive about this practice - until today. There has been confusion about getting a prescription re-filled. Of course, it is not possible to reach them directly - you have to go through Optum, which requires all of your identifying information. I explained the problem with the refill, and Optum was able to contact the practice and i was told I would be getting a call back. I never got a call. I called Optum again and was told the prescription had been filled. I called my pharmacy and was informed it had not been approved. I called Optum again this afternoon and with a considerable wait, was connected with an MA at the office. She informed me she would speak with Dr. Sorenson and call me back. Once again, I did not get a call. I have been flagrantly misled at least 3 times today. Simply stated, this shows a serious lack of professional integrity.

I mean wow they are great with kids! Everyone that we dealt with- and I've been in twice now and my husband is also been in once with our son- from the front desk to all of the assistance to the pediatrician has been kind and taken a lot of time to talk to my very talkative four-year-old as well as to help us make sure that both he and our newborn are healthy. I really appreciate the level of care that we have gotten so far there. I haven't been in yet for myself, but probably will be in for a check up here soon, but can definitely recommend it if you have kids.

She is extremely patient, asks all of the right questions, doesn't rush you in and out, returns phone calls, and truly cares about your well being. First off, I don't think that anyone at a doctor's office would be filled with hate. Dr. Cohen has been our family doctor for years. Some minor issues. General doctor's office waiting…read moreproblems, etc. In early December, my dad went in to get something looked at...Cohen referred him to an oncologist. We have several doctor/nurse friends who told us not to go to the suggested oncologist and instead referred another oncologist (who has been great by the way). My mom got a little bit of attitude from Cohen's office after she told them we were choosing our own oncologist and the office didn't seem supportive of our own decision to choose who we believed to be a better oncologist. Fast-forward to July....my Dad has been undergoing strong chemotherapy treatments for lymphoma and has since received a bone marrow transplant and is now in remission, but still on a long road to recovery. Despite being friendly and close with our family for YEARS, guess who has yet to check in on my dad? Cohen has not called/emailed/sent a letter to ask how the appointments went, how he's feeling, NOTHING. No one from the office has bothered to check in in 8 months. Which is pretty messed up if you ask me. Cohen has received 5280's top internal medicine recognition a couple times and has some other "awards" too, so that's pretty cool I guess, but I would expect a one line email from an office assistant to at least see if my dad is still alive.

The scam warning was incorrect. Functional medical Dr's are more expensive and medicare won't cover it, I don't know about other insurance, but she is worth it. She has me taking my blood vitals every 2 months and tweaks my protocol from there. I love that she is working off of my vital just for me. When I went to see here I barely moved from the bed to the couch, I just had nothing in me. Yesterday I walked 5 miles. I feel so much more alive. I had a lot going on health wise when I first came in, but she has unraveled it all and every part of the tangled mess is getting better. When I would go to the regular Dr. they would just take vitals and say see you next year.

Unnoticed Warning Sign #1) my wife & I were nonetheless greeted with her welcoming smile bursting with an open, understanding heart for patients abused by the For-Profit healthcare system, so she brags. Based solely off of ONE pre-appointment phone call Dr. Sainer's vague-but seemingly major- diagnosis for me was: Chronic Fatigue (SO major apparently that "Dr." Sainer tried for a long time to /convince/ me to quit working my small business that my wife & I own & operate-stating that her other patients with "less severe" Chronic Fatigue relied on government disability and stayed home, and that I also should do the same. (Unnoticed Warning Sign #2, and uh, HIPPA??!!) I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer at the age of 18. I reached out to her regarding a prescription only for desiccated thyroid. I left there with 9 total prescriptions written for me. Sainer completely took advantage of my situation and profited off of me, just like the doctors she claims to not be like. After reviewing my extensive blood work we began talking about medications she could prescribe me and why using her medications was the only way to go (Unnoticed Warning Sign #3). Upon paying for, receiving, & THEN researching these medications they are all sold by the same company, Xymogen, that she definitely gets a nice kickback from. Save yourself the money please and don't make the same mistakes we did, alternatives can be found MUCH cheaper elsewhere. She also made sure to keep asking us if we we're SUPER SURE we could afford her services, repeating herself many times, evoking much embarrassment in me. I am 22 years old, and I wouldn't have reached out to her if I wasn't able to afford her services. Her comments about ensuring she would be able to receive her payment continued painfully throughout the 2 hour long appointment, only to be relented by me stating that I have a wealthy father I could rely on (I don't) (Unnoticed Warning Sign #4) My first and only visit with Sainer ended up costing $1361.24 and what little faith I had left in the healthcare system. That was literally all the money in my bank account. $495 for the visit, $367.49 for medications & supplements, and THEN an extra charge of $498.75 for next month's visit (?????????!!!!!!!!!!! Unnoticed Warning Sign #5) that I will NOT be going to. I will say that Sainer's medical advice was credible, but her lack of ethics is extremely prevalent with her fear-mongering first appointment & after reviewing the receipts for the money she practically stole from us.
