They pace the class really well and decorate the curriculum with interesting asides about Japanese slang, history, or cultural context. They localize the lessons to our experiences and push us to speak as much as possible. I've particularly enjoyed the in-person learning experience. I later learned that F-1 students are generally required to attend classes in person (minimum hours on campus) to maintain legal status. I clearly explained that I am located in a different state, yet I was still enrolled in a school far away while being repeatedly told the classes would be online. There was no transparency about who was providing the service, no clear credentials, and no proper explanation of the process. After realizing the inconsistencies and requesting clarification and a refund, I was not helped. Because of this experience, I will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and reporting both this company and Study1Visa so others are aware. Please do your research carefully before sending money to anyone offering immigration or visa services. I demand my money is returned immediately!

They are very accommodating, kind and thoughtful. When I was injured they called me specifically to see how I was doing. The owner is a very nice woman also. They all add a nice personal touch. Classes are affordable and you can take makeups for classes you miss, so the value is excellent. It has been a dream of mine to learn Italian. Some are quite mean and some are sort of like grifters, they just want you to come back to class and move at a snail's pace so you'll be there forever. The staff is completely inflexible. If you want to postpone for the next term or change anything, they just keep putting you into classes that are the wrong level or schedule. I understand this is for when people change their minds about going to class. But seriously they are ONE THOUSAND PERCENT INFLEXIBLE once they have your money. You could be going to accept a Nobel Prize and they will say "What if we put you in Slovakian on Tuesdays?" They don't have that many classes anymore. It either works for you or it doesn't. He speaks fondly of former students that took his courses and excelled, and encourages me frequently by pointing out my strengths. That feels great. My girlfriend moved from Moscow to LA in the late 90's, naturally her family speaks only Russian at home. When I go visit them I want to understand more of what is being said and eventually be able to interact with her family in Russian. Language Factory takes a practical, conversational approach to its teaching. For example for the last 10-15 minutes of class we practice short conversations. Despite my limited vocabulary George is patient, he wants to see his students do well and I couldn't be happier I picked The Language Factory over its competitors.
