Love love love Jampro! My daughter has been a student for almost 8 years now. She has taken voice, guitar, bass and piano lessons here, but has found her passions to be vocals and bass. She has been a part of several amazing bands through Jampro, playing both at their awesome on-site stage and at festivals and businesses here in town. The improvement in her musical talents has been a beautiful and impressive journey that continues to leave me in awe. All of the teachers have been excellent and top caliber musicians themselves. Jampro often served as a safe space for my daughter during some difficult times through the years. They treated her like family and I will forever be grateful. The facility is top notch and every thing you'd expect from a high end studio and more. They even have courses to learn audio production and DJ. Love this place. I have never seen anything like it. They have tons of high quality sound proof rooms, a performance stage and space that beats most local small venues, a decent selection of musical instruments, production studio where classes can be taken in computer music production, and customer service that can't be beat. They have a nice little place where parents can chill while their kids are doing their lessons as well. It seems that no little detail has been missed on getting this business off the ground in the best way possible. We were turned onto this place by a fellow parent on our daughters soccer team. They told us to go and check it out and we are glad we did. They have guitar, piano, voice, violin and many other lessons available here. They run camps too. Asking my daughter on what she would include her response was..."The teachers are really friendly and are good at teaching kids!" Currently we have her in voice, piano and violin lessons. And if I had the time (and the money) I would enroll in a class for myself. I'm sure there are places where they can improve, but I just haven't experienced that yet. We have had a very good experience with Jampro. When we first toured their building, we were pretty impressed at how modern and well laid out the classrooms were. They have a nice stage for performances in the back too. Our little girl has taken guitar lessons here for a little over a year, as well as she tried voice lessons too. All of the instructors have been very professional and kind. We really like that they do recordings throughout the semesters to show their progress. We also enjoy the free workshops they put together on the weekends. It seems like they have a lot of famous music groups stop by here too, which is really fun! read more

This place rocks! This is our second time here and both times, we were welcomed by the staff as if we had been there 50 times... Slightly out of the normal but in a nice way. A lot of businesses lack in the "welcoming commitee" department but if you ask me; this is where any business should start and JamPro has got this down... connect with customers. This place mainly specializes in strings ranging from violins, ukuleles and guitars but they also have drum sets, cajones etc. and tons of accessories and sheet music to choose from. I didn't take a formal tour but there are quite a few private lesson rooms as well as a recording studio and an actual performance stage in the back... Pretty sweet set up under one roof. Outstanding, world-class resource for our area. The professional level of the instruction and rehearsal facilities are akin to something you'd see in a major entertainment city. If this had been around when I was a kid learning music, I would have worked my ass off on after-school and summer jobs to pay for it, being there's no way my single-parent, working-class mom could have afforded to send me here. I've recorded in professional studios that were less equipped than this place. My first impression was, "Wow, if you've got enough money you can build an impressive space that will seem like a good idea." Having taught music myself, I was skeptical about the place. Teaching music isn't about fancy rooms and gear; it's hands on and a one-to-one transfer of knowledge and skill. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the technical and personal attributes of the instructors are top notch and not a gimmick. As a musician of over 40 years, I was humbled by the energy, knowledge, and obvious enthusiasm this crew exudes. If you can afford it and you have kids with musical ambitions--including DJ'ing, production, recording science, along with instrumental, vocal, and stage presence--this is easily the high water mark for music instruction in Reno. A friend of mine invited me to come check out JamPro because my daughter loves music and plays the piano and violin. Not having heard of them before, I first investigated them on the internet, and checked out their webpage. Then, I came in for a tour, not really knowing what to expect. What a refreshing and exciting place! I have not been able to stop telling everyone I know about this amazing venue for kids of all ages to come and learn about any instrument of interest; piano, guitar, ukelele, strings, winds, horns, drums, and now a marimba! If you want to learn it, let them know and they'll do their best to make it happen! The staff, the studios, and the stage set up a fantastic environment that seems to get everyone excited about learning to sing, play, or produce a high quality performance! Their programs coincide with the Washoe County School calendar, so lessons are easy to line up with your child's schedule. They can pro-rate, so it's not too late to start! They offer music camps during school breaks and throughout the summer. They also offer ensemble lessons for kids to experience group play. It seems the learning opportunities here are endless, so if you have suggestions, bring them. My daughter, as of late, expressed an interest in the steel drum. Love Jampro! My husband, 5 y.o. son, and I all take lessons here and we think the teachers are excellent. I am a classically trained pianist and longtime jazz sax player who decided it would be fun to learn electric guitar. I also have a full-time job, family, etc., so don't have hours to practice each week (I wish). My teacher totally "gets" the situation and keeps the experience fun and no pressure. My drummer hubby feels the same way about his instructor. I can't say enough good things about my son's voice and drum teachers- they keep it totally fun for him as well and he is tremendously excited to go every week. Jampro has been THE MOST amazing place for my kids and myself!! I only wish they would have been opened years ago - Reno really needed a professional, fun, exciting and nurturing environment for kids of all ages and experience, to learn how to play an instrument and develop a love of music. Jampro has done that and more. The staff is incredible - talented musicians & vocalists and extraordinary teachers - patient, fun, caring and motivating. The facility is unreal! I love that the kids learn in a soundproof private room but with full glass doors so parents can keep an eye on what is going on without interfering in their lessons. They had so many great guitars in many price ranges. They were fully stocked with LTD's, ESP's, Gibsons, Reverends, G&L's and many more guitars. They had a legitimate testing room with a variety of amps and killer guitars on the wall. They also had THE BEST PEDAL SELECTION OF ANY PLACE I'D EVER SEEN, including Earthquaker, JHS,TC Electronic, Radial, and many many more. This place is impressive! We take our son for weekly guitar lessons but I know there's a ton more that goes on here. An on the ball Yelp-ER would do homework but I'm not right now so check out the website for all the offerings. They are extremely organized with scheduling and payments - we sign up and pay for a semester at a time and appreciate not having to worry about it. It's HUGE! A great music education resource in Reno. They have an awesome facility with instrument purchase, supplies, rentals and repairs. There is a recording studio and full stage for students to share and perform after their semester of lessons. I cannot say enough about this place and have even taken adult piano lessons there too. I was in the market for a new set of drums, so after reading a few reviews on yelp I decided to give this place a try. I went in last thursday & was greeted by a gentleman by the name of Kelsey. I told him what I was looking for & after we talked a bit, he invited me back to the stage area where there was a drum kit already set up. Yes, they have a full blown stage with lights & the whole 9 yards there on site. He told me I could get up there and play for a little bit and then we could use that as a jumping off point as far as what I was exactly looking for. After playing on that kit for a little while I had a better understanding of what I did & didn't want for my drums. After talking with Kelsey a little while longer he turned me over to the drum tech for Jampro...Kevin. After chatting with Kevin about all things drums for another hour, he informed me that he could set up a kit specifically for me for the next day, so that I could come in & play & see if I like them. Who does that? Awesome. So I came in the next day & played the kit that he had set up but decided that it wasn't exactly the one for me. So after spending another hour with him I decided on a kit that I thought would work for me. So after deciding on a kit, Kevin said that he would put the heads on for me (I bought different heads than the ones the kit came with) and tune them up and that I could pick them up the next day. After receiving a phone call on saturday morning, I went in to pick up my new drum set! They even helped me carry it to the car . So I took it home & set everything up. Let's just say I am beyond happy. Everything about the drum set is exactly what I was looking for. This is not really a surprise to me considering how much time the staff at Jampro spent with me on thursday, friday and saturday to make sure that I got exactly what I was looking for and more importantly, that I would be completely satisfied with it. Jampro is amazing! My two children have been taking lessons from Jampro for over a year now and we have been so happy. My kids have experienced a renewed enthusiasm for playing their instruments since joining Jampro. They are excited to go to their lessons and they practice without being asked (most of the time). The owner, Chris, takes his time to talk with us and make sure that we are happy with the services we are receiving. Our instructors, Virginia and Benjamin, are professional and friendly, and it is obvious they are excited about music and teaching. I know my children feed off that excitement. My son takes private guitar lessons. My daughter takes private violin lessons, as well as participates in a ProEnsemble group lesson, which has taken her playing to whole different level since she is playing with other musicians and instruments. She has also had the opportunity to participate in community concerts as part of the ProEnsemble group. My children are also able to participate in mid-semester and final recordings in a professional recording studio, as well as a final concert on a stage with professional sound and lighting. It is so cool! As far as rentals and instrument selection, we have rented a cello which was in excellent condition and comes with insurance in case damage occurs (this is not the case with all rentals). When it was time to purchase new instruments for my children, our instructors took their time in helping us purchase just right instrument for my children.
