This isn't some random salon I tried once. My son and I used to come here together whenever he was home from college. They knew us. After my son was murdered, they acted like they cared. They offered sympathy. They know this isn't something I "went through" and got over--it's something I have to live with every single day for the rest of my life. They know how profoundly that loss changed my life, and they know I'm on disability because of it. That's why this experience hit differently. You expect this kind of treatment from a place that doesn't know you.
