It can get really busy at certain times. I can recommend their "Women Only" swimming times on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.

I visited it with a cousin who is a regular member of the pool. The place was overcrowded and the shower rooms were wet and messy.

I've been a member of this gym for about 7 years now (you wouldn't think it to look at me!) and things have definitely changed. Sadly not all for the better. The childrens pool seems to be out of order a few times a month (not a big deal to me, don't have kiddies but can see it being a deal breaker if you get junior all the way there and they don't have the fun pool to play in!). Changing rooms are kept pretty clean - you need to have a padlock for your locker - and they've tried to keep an area of the changing room child free....though sadly most of the kiddies (and their grown ups!) don't seem to be able to read the sign.... A victim of the refurb was the ladies weights area. I'm not sure why, it was pretty well used. Clearly the spin studio and 'skill zone' areas were far more important to them so now we just have to put up with being amongst the grunty men while we tone our muscles....another downside is that the weights machines do feel somewhat cramped together now as the space has been reallocated for other uses. The upside - there are lots of treadmills (though at peak times - like Monday evenings - you'll be lucky to get straight onto one!), bikes, cross trainers and rowing machines....the spin studio is now enclosed so you don't have to hear the instructor waffling on and on nor have two different types of music trying to seep through your headphones! The skill zone has new and very entertaining trixster bikes (simulates a mountain bike course for those of you afraid of the outdoors like me...) TRX training systems and a skill wall (you know, the lights come on and you have to jump around hitting them off....I dunno the proper name!). There are plenty of tennis courts (book in advance), a large pool with lane swimming, For the popular classes (like spin) you'll need to book in advance and get there early or you'll find all the bikes reserved with towels and water bottles! I haven't tried many of the other classes, the schedule isn't great for someone who can't get there til 7pm of an evening, and having had previous miserable class experiences I am wary of some of the instructors, nonetheless the classes seem popular so I guess it's just me!! Money wise you're going to pay for this upgrade in facilities! Current full membership is around £83 a month although you can sign up for a year and reduce that a little (be aware of when your cancellation date is though otherwise you will automatically get rolled over for another year!).

I totally agree with West12 - I have hated other gyms I've been a member of, but I actually like…read morethis one - nothing more to add except that I've been a member here for a while and their recent refurb and upgrade of equipment has made them even better. And their kids facilities are great. Both creche and classes. Current favourite new toy there is the Trixter Xdream videogame cycle - you have a videogame screen in front of you, and you race against computer generated competitors or real people. Resistance decreases and increases according to gradient, terrain and gears. I should be there now, really, racing against the machine - instead of slumped here, writing about all the food I've been eating.

Rubbish. They propose a membership with one lesson a week…read moreand unlimited access for extra practice. When I was applying at the reception, the information I inserted into the tablet didn't go through, they asked me to wait. I saw the receptionist serve a few more customers before coming back to me and asking me again what I was waiting for. "Nothing we can do at the moment, wait for an email" was the response. What I was waiting for then? Apparently, you need a PIN to book your extra sessions or you have to pay for it. I called for information, and the girl asked me if I had a card, when I was talking she cut the communication. I called back but no more answers. I applied for the card online, but nothing happened. Subsequently, I went to the centre and the staff was listless, arrogant, rude, snobbish and unprofessional. From them, I never received emails, cards or anything else. The day I was waiting at the reception a couple came and I heard that the woman was a member and somehow the man was benefiting from her card or in some other way. The receptionist was quite clear when he stated his free access. Not to mention that I had to test my skills twice, almost three times because there was no communication between the instructor and the receptionist. A hot potato. Should you pay for this? Obviously, this swimming pool leaks water everywhere

I have been a member for around a year and a half and enjoy coming here! The centre has a decent sized gym, with all the usual cardio and weight equipment, a big indoor swimming pool and a smaller kids pool, both indoor and outdoor running tracks, a martial arts studio, sauna and steam rooms and a cafe. They also offer a variety of group classes (such as yoga, pilates, revolutions, step, body combat etc etc) and have a number of on-site personal trainers. The staff are really friendly, and there is a real sense of community amongst the members and staff. I invariably end up having a few good chats along with my workout whenever I go! As the centre is part-owned by council there are often a lot of school kids about, practising on the tracks for the athletics team or running club on certain days after school, however they aren't allowed in the gym, and even if they are training on the tracks from, say 6-7pm, they normally leave a lane free for others to run in. The swimming pool can get busy, but again, there are always lanes dedicated to serious swimmers. There is also a room where you can play badminton, basketball etc and there are often clubs for kids held here. So if you live in the area and don't have a membership yet, then now's the time to get fit! On your marks, get set.....GO!

Swimmers are super friendly, and considerate. Helped me get comfortable when one lane was too slow for me, and the other a little fast. Food in snack bar is delicious, vegan options, and super friendly staff. Water is perfect temperature for me. I like warm water, this is not too warm, or too cold. You can get in without shivering, but it's not bath water. I'm going to spend a lot of time here! If you have kids there's a play room. Basketball, five a side football, tennis, huge work out rooms. Go see for yourself when in London. It's a 15 min taxi ride from Camden Market. Stephen

There are good changing facilities and a whole sports centre and library in the complex. The pool is also overlooked by the gym. This makes it more interesting swimming around as you can look at the various people in the cafe and gym. If you're a Camden Resident you have to take out club membership or you can have a one off swim for the usual price, something over £3. I get concessionary swim rates so it's free for me in the mornings. ou cannot dive as it's only 2 metres deep at the deep end, shallow end is quite deep too at about 1 metre, so not suitable for little kids. They do allow kids with floats in most times, and sometimes it's crowded if you are trying just to do laps. Showers are warm (I am talking about the ladies here but I believe its the same in the gents) and staff are polite. This is a big improvement on the pool there used to be, but unfortunately its' smaller There's a smaller pool which they can vary the depth of - this is usually used for little kids and classes like water aerobics. Very small kids like to play outside in the big water feature which is very shallow and just right for toddlers and tots. There is also a soft play on the site, in my opinoin pretty expensive at about 8 pounds
