There are also several forms of meeting that you can attend as a woman in order to become a complete member of her stable, a group, Zoom meeting, and private meetings priced at various levels. I asked what the benefits were of each tier of meeting, and she said that I, as a woman, would not gain anything from any of them, because I was a member, and the men were her clients. she criticized us women for not knowing that she had a podcast, saying that the link to it was in the signature of every email, and that every woman she spoke to was unfamiliar with it, and she didn't know why. I have never met Janis or Carly but I have read ALL the reviews. I'm a male in NY and there essentially are NO males giving reviews here on yelp.. I called Spindle and asked alot of questions. The amount was given to me was (gulp) $ 80,000 for ONE year in NY search and promises of at least ONE date per month. And with all the comments of scam and lying, it really gives me pause. Questions 1. Why no men giving reviews? 2. Are there so few men willing to fork over $80,000 ? 3. Does she select the 10s and then shows them to men? 4. If sooo many women upset , are men too afraid to say anything ? Any person reading this, I would appreciate any response. I had the pleasure of meeting Carly Spindel a few years ago when I reached out to this matchmaking company to see if I could be matched with a man. I paid a fee and met her (in person) in the lobby of a building, where she gave me some great advice and asked me to have my pictures taken so that I could be in their database should a potential match be found. The experience turned out to be very positive. She connected me with professional people for my photoshoot. I met with a stylist, hairdresser, makeup artist, and photographer ( all of whom provided excellent client service). I still use these contacts for other things. Even the photos from the photoshoot proved useful elsewhere. :) After using several other matchmaking agencies (where I paid $$$$), I saw the difference and this agency's professionalism. Everyone they refer you to is super-professional and pays attention to detail. I've used other agencies where the matchmakers don't even care about their clients' preferences and will match you with the opposite of what you asked for because they are contractually obligated to match you with one of their members. In fact, this matchmaker (at the other agency) told me to wear ripped jeans (not my personal style), get my hair done at a crappy salon, and go to a makeup counter to get my makeup done for free. So, you can imagine my shock and horror! As a result, my photoshoot turned out to be ridiculous! I was hoping to get matched with a man, but maybe their clients' preferences and mine don't align and that's not their fault. It is what it is! Just put your best foot forward and be optimistic. I've seen many reviews of women complaining that this is a scam and waahh :( they just won't help me! It's 100 % not a scam. They are just doing their job. They screen you and then if you pass, you get your profile submitted into their database. It's not their fault that they're aren't enough men out there! Also, if you're not a paying client, you can't expect them to find you a match. That means that the only way is for you to match with one of their clients is through your profile/photoshoot (after you've paid a fee for consultation) or paying the membership fee (signing a contract for them to find you matches). This is a high end matchmaking service that only takes on men as clients. Women, who are interested to get matched up, go through a screening process by meeting with Janis, Carly or both. There is a fee (about $250) for the screening. The instructions, before you sign up for the screening, are crystal clear as to what the expectations are after the screening, which is Janis will keep a file on you with pictures/bio in case a potential match is identified. I walked away from the meeting with full knowledge that I will ONLY get a call back if Janice/Carly found a match for me. I did not hear from Janice for two years until she called me up with news about a potential match. I spoke with the prospect over the phone (seems like a nice gentleman!), and we will be going out to dinner soon to see if we connect in person. The reason for leaving this review is to offer support for the business because I did not feel cheated for not getting a call back after the screening, and was surprised to get a call back after two years. I must disagree with most of the negative reviews because it's pretty clear that you may never get a call back after being screened. Also, it makes sense for the business to require an in-person meeting before adding your name to the list of prospects for their current/future clients. I hope this helps to clarify the business model used, and what the expectations are if you are signing up for the screening process, Also, I believe the screening is by invitation only, and you may participate only if your application goes through. The online application, as I recall, requires a short bio and a few pictures. The cost for signing up is $25. If you feel uncomfortable paying $25 to fill out the application or $250 for the screening afterwards if selected, then don't! read more

I'm struggling to understand all the negative reviews. Having just participated in a zoom with Janis and Carly, I know that they make it abundantly clear that they work for the male (I.e., he's paying the most money, not the females) and there is no guarantee of a match. Yes, the fee to participate in the group interview isn't cheap, but neither is a dating app subscription (e.g. eHarmony costs around $250 for the cheapest subscription). They're in the business of making money just like anyone else who owns their own business, so I can't understand people who take issue with what they're "selling". No one is making a female sign up to pay if they don't want to. I just did the zoom, but so far I'm impressed. They are no nonsense business women, and I admire that. The fact that she asked to charge me must mean that she does not have many male clients. If she had tons of male clients, like the other agencies, she'd be happy to find me, not ask me for money. I spent $250 to meet the daughter at a Mall in Boca Raton. I had to share my time with another client which made it uncomfortable to be open and talk about myself. The meeting lasted maybe 20 minutes max. At the risk of sounding "confident", I can tell you that on every level, I qualified. Yet I NEVER heard back from them. I was completely scammed. I actually flew in from another city (I also had other business in NYC to tend to) for a meet and greet with Janis where we expected her to really talk to us and give us tips and actually let us know SOMETHING about whether we could proceed. She told us to buy and read her books before the session and bring them with us. There were probably 20 women there. What a scam. She was sitting at the back of a dark Manhattan restaurant and demanded $50 cash from all of us. That took at least a half hour (or more) for everyone to get checked in. Finally, we all crowded around a table with Janet kind of squeezed in and she went around the room and said asinine things to us and asked us goofy questions, but she never really addressed a process or what she was looking for or ANYTHING. I don't think she said anything to me at all...It was all very weird and demeaning. And then it was over within an hour. So, basically, we paid her electric bill or something that night. She just gathers women together, tricks them into buying her books and demands payment for nothing. I figured out why she asks for cash -- because otherwise these women would file disputes with their credit card companies or put stop payments on checks. It's that bad. After this disastrous session, I joined two other Janis victims for a delightful Italian dinner, where we laughed and laughed about how gullible we all were.
