Janis Tire does good work at a fair price. The guy at the counter can be grumpy since he has a lot of work and responsibility but deep down he is a decent guy. He even gave me a free ride back to my house during the auto repairs so I could care for my mom after a stroke since it isn't safe to leave her alone. I have been going to Janis for years to get oil changes since the locals recommended Janis. The reason I went to Janis is because Zubeck was a dick and wouldn't get me in for an oil change when I had to drive to the hospital everyday. (Zubeck also tried to force me to sell my Jeep to him for $3000 instead of selling it on my lawn for $12,000.) Good thing I went to Janis for oil because they would only work on my car for mechanical problems by being a loyal customer after getting regular oil changes. First Janis patched a tire for only $30. Next, the tail light went out and Janis fixed it for $6. Then the traction control sensor went out and Janis fixed it for only $226. Finally, the brakes started to go and I got that fixed for only $460. The car runs fine now and the work was solid. The guys work hard and they have a good crew working at Janis now. I have heard people talk smack about Janis, but they have done right by me. read more

Just because I'm a girl who doesn't know much about cars, I know when I'm being jerked around. I had to get a new tire at the worst time. Didn't even wanna be in public with 20 wires on my head for a neurological exam but I had to. Jeff Janis put my tire on in TWO minutes and immediately after I pulled out of their driveway the tire started to wobble. I went back and someone else came out and checked it, wasn't even going to drive it... they ultimately sent me to dealership and on my way there the wobbling stopped. It was horrifying enough to have to go out in public and I had to go back TWICE! Mike B. Is the only good thing jeff has going for him. He was courteous and helpful when I was frustrated and emotional. It doesn't matter the amount of money you will make. Treat everybody the same. I originally wasn't going to give you business, you have enough but you came highly recommended. I even bought a new tire, not used. ( I'm sure it was used)...didn't look brand new. There is only one thing that will bring me back and it won't be to purchase ANYTHING. read more

Hi guys, I came up this past week from Florida, I stopped here last Friday for an oil change and tires aired up before I leave. I get 20 minutes outside of Saginaw an my oil light came on which confused me because I just got a oil change. I got off the highway an stopped at a mechanic shop to see what's going on. Come to find out Janis didn't tighten up the bolt on the oil pan which caused oil to leak out quick, mechanic said if I drove any further it would have caused failure to the engine, I'm glad I stopped when I did. I don't recommend this place to anyone. Maybe good for airing up tires. Really really upset about this. read more

California (my home state) would fucking laugh at this place. This place is not real, and every mechanic in there is a joke. Don't ever bring your car here. Unless you want to leave with more problems than you came with. I asked them not to put my lug nuts on too tight due to major metal shavings noticed when I took them off to do a brake change right after they worked on it. Dude laughed and said it was just the type of car, "cause it's a Chrysler".... Okay undermines basic car knowledge and request, fine whatever. But the real instance that absolutely ruined my car was getting a replacement for a front differential and a few other things. $1,000 for labor and USED parts! Insisted it didn't need an alignment, no rotation done either. I've had my car back for two months, steering wheel still shaking occasionally, veers to the right as well.....I looked at my front two tires yesterday and they're showing wires on the outer fourth of them! Original problem is still there and now I need a whole new set of tires. The back two are completely fine, all 4 were changed at the same time last year (cause it's all wheel drive) YOUR'E DONE JANIS TIRE. I'd be better off doing everything myself from YouTube. This place is one of many that I hate in this town and will never, EVER trust around me, my family or my belongings. Janis tire sucks!!! read more

Had 4 new tires installed at Janis tire in Oscoda on February 26. Today I discovered 2 valve stem leaks on right side. They were happy to fix them today but were rude and made jokes about the age of truck. I was able to afford 600 for the tires but would gladly pay more not to deal with a group of smart mouth punks. By the I way, I will be going somewhere else for the 70 dollar alignment. My suggestion is if you are going to use Janis Tire, bring a bottle of soapy water to check your valve stems before you leave. Tied up your bay for an hour Jeff, but it was 2 hours out of mine. COSTLY, I WON'T BE BACK. read more
