Primero que nada, mi hijo pidió ketchup y mayonesa para mi sándwich. No tenía ninguno de los dos porque ese sándwich estaba más seco que el desierto de Dubái y el kétchup no se veía por ningún lado. El carrucho también estaba soso, el sándwich sabia a nada. Esta era la primera vez que yo los visitaba luego de 20 años fuera, y la primera vez que mi hijo conocía a mi gente de mi pueblo natal Ponce. El quedó tan asombrado que vino a decirnos a la mesa que le querían cobrar extra por pedir kétchup. Ninguno de los que estábamos en la mesa habíamos escuchado en nuestras vidas un establecimiento de comida querer cobrar por un condimento tan esencial como el kétchup, y mucho menos un lugar que vende sándwiches. Si mi hijo hubiera pedido 60 paquetes de ketchup no sería sorprendente el querer cobrarle. Pero coño, pedir pago cuando lo que le iban a dar era una porquería de envase que no tenia ni 5 gramos de kétchup. Cuando se vayan a la quiebra nos alegraremos y no nos sorprendernos porque es lo que se merecen por abusadores y desgraciados. Mi hijo comió un sándwich de pastrami y más las bebidas gastó más de $100 y estos pillos querían cobrar por kétchup. Esto es una desfachatez y una cachetada a los clientes, Para colmo, tenían la música tan alta que no se podía conversar ni escuchar cuando la mujer llamaba nombres cuando la orden estaba lista. La veíamos llamar pero nadie venía al counter. Pena me dan los pobres vecinos.

Their menu was not that hard to understand even for non-Spanish speakers for the most part, but then when it comes to something novel ("What is a fongo?"), the lack of an explanation and choppy English-language skills might not help very much. So after a bit of pointing and gesticulating, we ended with an artisanal burger and some fongos pollo. The food was OK - freshly prepared and quite substantial. For my taste, it relied a bit much on grease and mayonnaise. Still a decent taste of local fare - or IS it considered authentic local fare? Apparently, they are pretty big for a food truck - 5 or 6 different locations at least, depending on which truck you want!
