During this visit to the YVR job dog, we ordered the all beef terimayo, dog, and the Okonomi dog as well. I think it was late at night around 7 PM so the staff were starting to clean up after a busy shift and from looking into the kitchen, it was quite dirty and perhaps that not the most hygienic. But overall their service was on point. They do not have an icemaker there so when I asked to get ice, they just took it straight out of a cooler so that is not the best. They were quite quick cooking our two hot dogs. Presentation was as normal in comparison to other Japadog locations again taste and quality was their, four out of five. They do have a self-serve soda station, which was fine. At the end of the day price in value there if you're looking for a high-end(ish) hot dog in a pinch. I never been to the domestic food court so it was a bit of a weird location. It took us about 10 minutes to actually find going from the international food court over to the domestic side because of the long walk.

Fresh off of a plane and my boyfriend and I spotted this cute little street food style tent on our way to pick up our car rental. He mentioned that he heard about Japanese style hot dogs before; me, on the other hand, didn't even know they were a thing! We decided to try one out since we wanted a little snack before heading out for the day's activities. We got the Kurobota Terimayo Hot Dog (basically the top ordered one) and found the service to be quick! Once we got our order we were impressed by the lightness of the meal - both in terms of the airy bun and the non-greasy hot dog. The kewpie and nori combo make such an amazing flavor set that keeps the essence of why it's Japanese style. This meal was a great start to our Vancouver trip and I'd definitely like to make it a routine stop when I visit again!

My first japadog a day it's amazing!!! It's in the food area of the outlets and I am so glad I tried it out. There are a lot of options but the wagyu beef one with the nori is most popular. The hot dog tastes so good and it's not overly salty like a normal dog, plus the mayo and nori is such a wonderful combo

Get what you can't at home... I can't get this anywhere in the United States, so I had to do it. It's a little sophisticated for a hot dog, but it's still a hot dog. It's delicious. It's worth it. If you think it's going to be way beyond a great hot dog, it probably won't wow you. But hey, get it because you won't get it somewhere else.

We've heard about Japadog prior to visiting Vancouver last year. We didn't get to try it last year because we ran out of time. This time though, we made sure to grab some as soon as we landed at YVR. I agree with the first review... Don't think they're aware that for some people, this is their first food purchase when visiting Vancouver... And the guys at the stand could be a little bit more friendly and personable. But don't get me wrong, the food was yummy!! I assured asked for #7, but #1 ended up being the yummiest of them all. Thats why they call #1 the most popular one! Also, cash only! And yes, the stand is right next to the smoking area. Wasn't fond of that at all.

I arrived to YVR from SEA. After walking out of the airport baggage claim area, there was a little tent with a pop up Japadog. We got the #1 hot dog with a combo. The hot dog had lots of flavor and was very unique. It was so satisfying! They also had Lays Ketchup chips (which I totally wanted to try). There were 2 benches next to the tent area so we had to quickly gobble down our hot dog. It's also right outside the train station so it's a super convenient pick me up snack before heading on the train! Note: I think the tent was set up next to a smoking area. Also the workers didn't really talk much or have any energy. This was my first purchase made in Canada (since I just stepped out of the airport so I wished they were more welcoming/explaining of the menu). That's why I rated it 3 stars.

A definite MUST-HAVE when you're in Vancouver; conveniently located right outside of the airport by the parking garage on the Arrivals side. My fiancé and I shared the Wagyu Beef when we first arrived and instantly regretted our decision for only getting one. This is not something you want to share, GET YOUR OWN. Needless to say, we each got our own Japadog the next time we flew out; trying the Spicy Dog and Kurobuta Terimayo. Both were also amazing. I really don't think you could go wrong with anything you choose, so experiment and try them all!!

We came to YVR around 9am and saw Japadog setting up right outside the international arrivals! I had heard about these food stands and wanted to try it out while in Vancouver but didn't have a chance, so I'm glad we were able to on our way out of Canada! I got the #7 kobe terimayo which is made with 100% kobe beef (wagyu) while hubby got the #1 kurobuta terimayo on a veggie sausage. The flavours were great! It's a nice take on a hot dog with a Japanese twist. The worker there was also really nice and friendly and got our order ready for us quickly. Another reviewer said that they're cash only, but we were able to pay today (6 Jan 2019) with credit card, so maybe that's changed. I also did not notice a smoking area nearby, so maybe that's changed as well? So happy we were able to try Japadog while in Vancouver! It's definitely worth a try!

Yummy!! I can see what all the hype is about! I ordered the veggie dog with miso toppings. The guy standing there must have been freezing, but he answered all of my questions and made me the best midday snack I could have asked for! I will definitely have another the next chance I see a Japadog stand!

We experienced our first Japadog in a Vancouver inside Stanley Park and fell in love ever since. Can't go wrong with #1 and #2.

Great food! Hot dogs tend to be seen as a basic food, but they have some really amazing variations.

The Rotato is fun to eat and l recommend getting the sour cream and onion flavor. It's served hot and fresh and it has the perfect crispy texture. The mango sticky rice is really good and the mangoes they use are fresh and sweet. The ramen donut is heavy because the outer part is thick and crunchy like it was double fried and the filling is ramen and cheese. I wanted to try it bc I never had a ramen donut before. It's worth trying it once and getting that photo op in, but probably won't get it again. The market also has games and entertainment along with some shopping that you can do (jewelry, clothing, artwork, etc).

Richmond Night Market has been around for 26 years now. It is a good concept to bring the night…read moremarket atmosphere commonly found in Asia to Vancouver. It is more than just food stalls and vendors selling jewelry, stickers, socks, cell phone accessories etc. There are bouncy castle, inflatable balls to run around in, zip line, fair games like the PNE etc. What I find ridiculous but common here in North America is having to pay an admission fee just so you can go spend more money on food and shopping. In other parts of the world where night market or Christmas market is a common thing, you just go stroll through the streets where vendors and shops are for free. Buy food and things when they catch your eye. So it's $7 general admission now, $5 after 10 pm for late night. Seniors (60+) and children (under 7) are free. There are some stalls offering happy hours items for the entire night ($10 under food and $7 under drinks). Otherwise food is around $15 on average. The food stalls are still mostly Asian fare. Many bbq skewers and I saw many getting the squids. I tried a frozen banana dessert which was cut up frozen banana dipped in chocolate and drizzled with pistachio sauce and that's the Dubai inspired dessert. Not that great. The cheese coin was decent with plenty of cheese. The inari bomb was pretty tasty. Many stalls are cash only. So bring cash, lots of cash. There is a 3% charge for admission ticket if paying by card. I'll say budget for minimum $100 each if you want to fully enjoy the experience of buying food from a few stalls, play a couple of games and buy things. Parking is free and well organized. There is also a lot of soccer related theme this year because of the World Cup where a few games will be held in Vancouver. I can see this place being popular for young kids, teenagers and young adults as something to do with friends. As I still travel to Asia at least once a year, I can totally skip this. If you're expecting it to be like the night markets like in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia etc, this is not it.

The pieces are generous. One piece is plenty for the average person. The halibut is BC caught, which is great. Tasted fresh and delicious. I like the fresh tasting coleslaw. It isn't that gluggy sweet sugar & mayo combo you get at many places. It was just a simple cut up cabbage nicely seasoned. Maybe it had a little something else on it. Expect a line whenever you go because the word is out. The wait staff was friendly and working hard to keep the line moving. We found a chair up against a narrow wooden "bar" facing the water. It was quite warm so we appreciated the shade of an umbrella.

The line can get long, but it's worth the wait. My recommendation: get the BC Halibut. Perfectly cooked, flaky, and incredibly fresh, it showcases exactly why Pacific Northwest seafood has such a great reputation. Simple ingredients, expertly prepared, and packed with flavor. Grab your food, find a seat along the waterfront, and enjoy the views while watching the boats come and go. Great food, great location, and a true Victoria classic.
