While I have a couple of notes, Le Valois was an excellent experience. If we split hairs,…read morefour-and-a-half, but easily rounded to five. I had the pleasure of trying: - Gazpacho (soup of the day) - Tuna Tataki - Salmon Tartare - Crème Brûlée - Espresso Gazpacho: The soup was creamy and not too salty. It also had pleasant savory notes and a hint of acidity and sweetness bestowed by the balsamic glaze. I also enjoyed the use of oil and fried onions. However, the soup either needed just a touch more solid ingredients or to be smaller, as I could only 'drink' so much. Tuna Tataki: For my taste, one quick adjustment short of perfection. The Tuna is cooked perfectly! It has a nice peppery crust and was griddled just enough to set it and render the fish by probably two millimeters. I also adored the pineapple salsa to add some sweetness and tang. Further, the veggies gave some welcome crispness. My critique lies with the sauce. It was heavy on the salt and thus overpowered the dish somewhat. Assuming this is full-sodium soy sauce, I recommend a lower-sodium option. Salmon Tartare: One hundred percent a slam dunk! A brilliant dish and one of my favorite Salmon Tartares of all time. The fish is of superior quality, but the real brilliance lies in the sauce. The amount of sauce is perfect to share the spotlight with the salmon, not take it over or shy away. For flavor, it has just enough salt to tease out flavors, a little bit of sweetness, and even some heat brought forth by the ginger. My compliments to the chef of this one, for the use of ginger is absolutely brilliant. Next, I enjoyed the house-made pickle. It was an excellent compliment to the salmon with mildly sweet and salty flavors. Finally, the fried onions were a nice touch here as well. My only note is that the crostinis were rather plain and so crunchy they almost set off the noise alarm on my Apple Watch! Crème Brûlée: A stupendously executed dessert exceeding my expectations. It is perfectly caramelized, not overly sweet, and has thick, luscious custard with berries mixed in. A lovely surprise against the much less viscous, berry-less, and over-sweet crème brûlées out there. Espresso: Great coffee, and nothing else to write about otherwise. Service: The service team did a terrific job taking care of me. They were professional, kind, friendly, and welcoming. They were clearly putting in effort to make sure I was happy and enjoying my meal and experience. The food came out pretty fast as well! Thus, while there are a couple minor notes about salt and crostinis, the food and flavor combinations are approached with the care and creativity that makes an eatery great. Add in fantastic service, and you have a winner!

This was our first meal in Montreal and we were nervous about not speaking French but it was not a big deal here. The whole place just had a quiet, friendly vibe. If we lived here this would be "our" usual go-to, I think! The poutine was excellent (and even reheated well the next day!), the fries by themselves excellent, and my daughter said she had the best Caesar salad ever here. My husband enjoyed their burger and I loved their club sandwich. Everything felt fresh and prepared with care. We will definitely return on this trip!

I started with a petit salad d'accompagnement, just the perfect sized refreshing salad. I followed it with a solo burger d'agneau (a wonderful lamb burger with mushroom, tomato, fromage and la crème aux épinards, and house Belle Soeurs mayo) and a petit Poutine Régulière (just the right size and plenty for two, gravy had excellent umami energy, curds were super creamy). It was all superb! We also enjoyed the fun evening playlist, added to the comfy vibes. Service was super friendly and helpful. We hope to back. Eat here!

I wanna give a huge thanks to the staff for accommodating us on such short notice as the table we were assigned to was too small and they quickly came up with a solution. A good range of music genre and just enough space for people to dance but also not dance if they prefer. Way too loud to hold a conversation but otherwise a cool place! Ordered the beef Mac and cheese and it was the perfect comfort food after a workout on a cold day.

My waitress seemed kind of annoyed that i didn't speak French, which is unfortunate. I also ordered a pizza that came out wrong and she literally never came back until it was time to pay after i sent it back to be fixed. A little annoying. Ask for an English menu, otherwise it'll be hard to order if you you don't speak French. It was cool to be able to order food for less than $6 each! The French onion soup? 10/10. I loved it. Could order again and again. The veggie pizza (not pictured) 7/10. Le pimp drink? 8/10. Seltzer water? Also 10/10. Idk why i enjoyed that so much but i thought i should mention it. Also! If you have the opportunity to go on your birthday? Do it. It's a fun little surprise. I went when there was at least 10 birthday celebrations, which killed the excitement a bit, but still cute.

But still other choice like Asian cuusini, African, Peruvian, etc. There is no trash bin. You take your plate to a boot where they sort it into compost, recycling and trash which keep the place nice and clean. There's a lot of seating although none are shaded. But since it's mostly end of the day, it's not a big issue. Waiting time do vary by truck. Some you wait 2 min then eat, other the line can get very long. I tried many things on my first go and I wasn't impress unfortunately. I waited about 40 minutes for a smash burger at buns buns (the wait time was caused they had gas issue and the burner wasn't turning on). It was an ok burger. No seasoning on the meat, was missing flavour. I felt like eating a watery burger. I also trie Mr. Mechoui poutine which is porc and beef mechoui with oignons, mushroom and Mr. Mechoui sauce. The sauce is mostly the juice from the mechoui. Because of that, the poutine tasted pretty bland. The meat itself didn't taste a lot. Maybe other poutine sauce they have like the maple bbq taste better. I had a spicy popcorn chicken in a waffle cône at victory bbq. This one was very good. Spicy, juicy popcorn chicken, the waffle itself was sugary, was very good. I will come back next month. I don't get why it's only a monthly even though, it seems there's enough hype to have it weekly each Friday and Saturday of summer.

They have over 400 food trucks, don't make our mistake and bring cash as many of food trucks don't have card readers. If you go early before 6pm you will find somewhere to seat. They have music and games for kids usually. You obviously get a great view of the Olympic stadium. I enjoyed my time there. Great food, dessert and drink selection. Prices are reasonable, portions are good.

They cook their steaks over that open fire, and the flavor is insane. Perfectly seared, tender, and with just the right amount of wood-smoke flavor. Our waiter was on another level. The guy knew every detail of the menu inside and out, breaking down the ingredients like a pro and recommending wine pairings that were 100% dead-on for what we ordered. He kept our table locked in all night without ever feeling stuffy. Great atmosphere, unbelievable steaks, and world-class service. If you're in Montreal, do not miss this spot.

This seemed like the Michelin star restaurant that was the most "local" and I'm very glad we ended up here. It was way more casual than I was expecting (take that as a compliment). It had an open slightly rustic industrial feel to it without the pretention of a lot of other high end restaurants. Our servers were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I have to say their Old Fashioned was one of the best I ever had... and I ended up having three (the third was my dessert). We opted for the tasting menu without the wine pairing (I don't really like wine). There were a few things on the tasting menu with items I'm not usually fond of, but I figured this is the place that is going to make it work so just do it. And they certainly made it work. The food was so tasty I forgot to take pictures of most of the courses. It was all delicious, even the rhubarb dessert (I really don't like rhubarb and while I wouldn't order this dessert by choice, I was happy to eat it). Our experience overall was great. While we waited a long time to get our drink orders and the first round from the tasting menu, everything else came out at normal intervals. However, by the time we were done and contemplating a dessert beverage, we were informed that there was a time limit on the table and they'd have to check if they could get us drinks or if we'd need to give up the table. While I'm totally understanding of limiting the time because some people just loiter, I did not feel like we took a lot of extra time, so perhaps there's some timing that's a bit off. Still, we were able to get our after dinner drinks and ultimately had no issue.
