A popular thai restaurant in the touristy small town of ste anne de bellevue. Aside from the Indian restaurant nearby, this is the only long lived asian restaurant here. Not sure why but the other asian places that open up just dont seem to enjoy much popularity. They have a pretty extensive menu and although i am not an expert on thai food by any means, it appears to be a lot of the generic thai food that not necessarily quite traditional (like similar to a menu you'd see at thai express). That being said, what we ordered was very good. I did really enjoy my seafood dish, I was expecting the small cheaper scallops and they had big scallops and shrimp, which was a very nice surprise. Also, bonus points for having sticky rice as as option. It was lovely and went well with the curries and other dishes. The peanut dipping sauce that came with the calamari and spinach was too sweet in my opinion. Also the outdoor dining was quite crowded and the tables and settings and chairs felt a bit cheap for the prices of the food. The food itself was very good so I can't fault that but since I'm an unemployed student I probably won't be a regular client.

the food is delicious and service is also good. The price is a little high, but in this area there are tourists in the summer.

Decent Thai, especially given the lack of such restos on the west island. Nice view of the water, which is standard for this part of town.

The best dish was the lobster & shrimps.. cooked really amazing!!! Shrimp were tender and succulent omg I really loved this dish and the orange beef was good too.. I didn't know they were breaded but they were delicious and so was my mixed vegetable dish super yummy.. the soups were delicious and so were the dumplings mmmm melted in my mouth! However, The rice was standard fast Chinese food.. tasted ok but not THE BEST I've had.. it just was not very soft like I like it and the fried calamari entree was also hard and not the most fresh. The delivery came very quick (15min and the guy was at my door) so I was a bit worried as some of my food might have been reheated and thats why it was not so fresh .. not everything was bad just the rice and calamari was disappointing Prices are fair and not overly priced so if you're looking for something fast but lacks a lil bit of quality for a good price this place is great ... I just like to have my chineese food super fresh .. sorry but overall it was pretty good stuff and I'll definitely re-order but maybe I'll avoid the rice next time. Thanks

The entrance to the home prepares you for the grand night. You walk through a lovely garden up to the front door. This was a full french dinner that lasted 4 hours. The restaurant brought small courses in between our ordered courses and the were separated by time giving you space to visit with your party and to digest. The small in-between courses included a small scoop of pallet cleansing sorbet, bread, and after desert they brought a second light desert of a choux pastry (cream puff without the cream filling). Food was absolutely exquisite. I started with seared Foie Gras which was prepared perfectly, super tender and rich. I understand the ethical concerns with Foie Gras, but it is hard to find in the US and I wanted to take opportunity to enjoy a little while abroad. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I was seated at a table next to the window where I could have a glimpse of the lake, a nice view. I ordered the special menu for the day as shown in the photo. There were bread and bite size of appetizer on the house. Then the appetizer for the day was rabbit to eat with crackers with sweet tasted onion and a tiny pickle on the side. This was an adventure for me since I had never eaten any rabbit before. Personally, The rabbit tasted like chicken to me. It was smooth and light to eat with crackers like this. Then came the main course, beef shoulder roast with Béarnaise sauce. The beef shoulder was tender and the sauce lightened up the taste of the meat. I also love the mashed sweet yams on the side and the potato was cut in very thin slices. I was so satisfied with the elegant presentation and the delicious taste of the main course. The dessert was a big piece of chocolate in pyramid shape. It went well with the berries and milk on the side. Yet it was a bit too sweet and too much for me to my personal taste after the main course. This was a very nice French cuisine.

This is my absolute favourite Thai restaurant in Ontario. I keep trying out other Thai-specific…read moreplaces, and I've yet to find one that matches up with Thum's Kitchen. Once upon a time, this restaurant used to be a very small kiosk located alongside a rural road in the small village of Moose Creek. It was very popular as a take-out sort of venue, and the menu was far more limited back then. Eventually, the family expanded and moved their business out to the city of Cornwall, taking over a large Bavarian-style building that has housed a litany of restaurants that never seemed to stick around for very long. Not so for Thum's, however. This place is a cornerstone in Cornwall. It's very popular and if you plan on going on the weekends and evenings later on in the week, I suggest you call in and make a reservation just in case. The hours are a little strange, and there's been a few times I've driven down there on a whim only to find out it was closed (I'm one of those lazy persons who doesn't bother to learn businesses' hours of operations. I know, I know!) This place is authentic. The decor is extensive with a lot of unique pieces from Thailand. Not your typical travel posters and framed prints. There are huge carved wood sculptures, 3D reliefs on the walls, etc. The tablecloths are culturally-inspired, the silverware is unique enough that I've had to restrain myself from pocketing an elephant-ended fork on more than one occasion. Lastly, the music is good, and the clothing worn by the servers is traditional Thai, as well. It's an entire production, to say the least, and it's lovely. The menu is probably the most extensive I've witnessed as well. It's also peppered with little anecdotes and factoids about Thailand, including country facts, food and eating customs, and do's and don'ts of etiquette. The food itself is amazing, I've sampled and had several of their dishes over the years, but I am going to personally confess that I ended up going for my own personal sweet, sweet addiction- red curry. They make a mean Gang Dang. In fact, I haven't even found this specific dish anywhere else, nor have I had a dish with bamboo shoots in Ontario that wasn't from a can *except* at Thum's Kitchen. They use fresh, and it's an entirely different creature all together. Buttery yet crisp at the same time. Oh yeah, baby. Bathrooms are downstairs and are suitable and serviceable enough. The only downside I can find about this place is that it doesn't seem to be wheelchair accessible. I may have missed a side or alternate entrance, though, so don't take my word for it on that-- call first and see because I may be wrong on that note.

It seems that it is family run. They have a broad thai menu. I stay away from curries so I prefer stir fries. I enjoyed a pork and veggie dish. I scared them by asking low spice level. It was nice but needed more heat. I added spicy oil to get more flavour. I enjoyed my lunch.
