    Bali bowl

The way I could eat this every day for the rest of my life. Very cute space with sweet waiters who are very helpful on your order. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu it's all spectacular.

    Okonomiyaki Bowl (beet lovers only)

Came in with high expectations as Aux Vivres has been around for years and boasts as "first vegan restaurant in Montreal". Starting with drinks, we ordered a kombucha and mango lassi. The mango lassi was tasty and reminded me of the flavor of dried mangos. My husband's kombucha wasn't as carbonated as he was expecting and considered it mediocre, not good not bad. I enjoyed my Bali Bowl despite accidentally drowning it in accompanying dressing. Caution: use dressing sparingly bc what is provided was not portioned correctly.. I only used 70% of what came with my bowl and my veggies were swimming. My husband was underwhelmed by his okonomiyaki bowl. While he liked the sauce, the flavor of his bowl was overwhelmingly beet-forward. After picking out the raw shredded beets (a baseball's size worth), he was able to enjoy his bowl more. Service was great and the environment was bright and inviting earning this experience a solid 3.5 stars. The other customers seemed comfortable and pleased with their orders. It could be that our selection was to blame; wish we had ordered something else besides our bowls!

Mumbai thali. Potato and chickpea curry. Great for a cold day. Delicious.

I can't decide between 4 or 5 stars and typically that would be an automatic 4. But I feel like my memory is playing tricks on me. I thought I liked it a lot better than I remember liking it. So I'm going with instinct. 5 stars. It was so nice to come to a city with a ton of vegetarian and vegan options for my wife - typically we have to go to NYC or Asheville, NC, for that. Aux Vivres is a perfect lunch choice for anyone, vegan or not. It's a vegan restaurant but you will love the food even if, like me, you aren't vegan yourself. It was a cold day so I started with a hot bow of potato and chickpea curry. Just delicious. Not really spicy but still with that flavorful and warming curry flavor. Moved on to the dragon wrap. This was huge, full of grilled tempeh, and a bunch of veggies with a side of dragon sauce. I love a sandwich or wrap that's something more than lettuce and tomato. This had a blend of veggies that made it colorful and light and very tasty. No idea what was in the dragon sauce, but I liked it too. I believe I liked my wife's tempeh Thai tacos better though. Maybe that's why I'm waffling between 4 and 5 stars, but whatever. This place has a wide variety to choose from and everything is good. I am sure you'll find something you like.

My first visit here happened to be a traumatic experience. I ordered the Deluxe bowl. In the middle of digging the food from this bowl, I found a brown hand towel inside the dish!! At first, I couldn't identify what it was. Because it was entirely soaked with beet water, I was wondering if it was a bunch of red seaweed. It was a whole brown paper towel. Yikes! I called the waitress and she asked me if I wanted to continue eating the dish... Nope!! Although she didn't charge for the bowl and offered a dessert for free, this is not good...

A very vast menu of delicious vegan meals, bols, wraps, smoothies and desserts! We loved everything we had. Very nice freindly, helpful service too. For either eating in or take out it always hits the spot.

Tried their mango lassi and Bombay bowl. The portion size was perfect, and the mango lassi was one the best I've ever had. Bombay bowl was ok. The staff was nice and friendly. The restaurant stays open till late, so that's very convenient.

Easily the best vegan brunch I have ever had. I only wish there was a place like this closer to where I live! My sister and I have now been here three times--once back in May and twice while visiting Montreal last weekend. It's our absolute favorite because the food is SO. GOOD. The brunch portions are huge and filling. All of the food is so delicious that you'll forget you're eating vegan. I highly recommend the polenta with beans. For anyone who is skeptical of vegan food, YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE. It will change your mind. Guaranteed. The space is clean and cute. Plenty of seating. Great atmosphere. Typically a young crowd--both as staff and customers. Nice plants around as decor. All of the staff is bilingual in French and English.

An amazing vegan place! My bro in law recommended this place and although eggs are a big part of my breakfast/brunch, I didn't miss it for a second after eating here. It was a busy morning when we arrived and were told it would be a 10 Mins wait (in reality it was more like 20). We got seated soon and our servers came to us right away. I ordered the matcha latte and it was probably the strongest one I have ever had. It was pretty rich and I enjoyed it quite a lot. For food we got the Mumbai bowl and the rancheros. The rancheros came with tofu (although it was tastier than tofu, hence i wonder if was paneer) and was a good enough quantity. I never ended up finishing it but it was my next day's breakfast! Their menu is extensive and has options from all over the world. I have not enjoyed a vegan place as much as I did this one hence without a second thought this deserves a 5 Star!

My mum and I both got the Mumbai Bowl for takeout, which consists of organic brown rice, chickpea & potato curry, pakoras (fried spiced chickpea balls), paratha (puffed Indian bread with veggie butter), mint & tamarind chutneys, and carrot. The food was flavorful and hearty, and the serving size was huge - enough to make a voracious eater like me feel full for hours! Definitely recommend this dish if you go to Aux Vivres. Service is friendly and price is reasonable, especially for such a large serving. They also have a small grocery section where they sell many desserts, whole cakes, cookies, sauces, refrigerated/frozen meals, stews, burgers, nuts, tempeh, etc.

Awesome food and great waitstaff. Go for the smoothies and the poutine! Prices were fair and the selection was good for non vegans too

I finally came to Aux Vivres after hearing such great things about this place. It's one of the first vegan restaurants in Montreal so we were excited to try it. Unfortunately, we left a little disappointed. The menu is pretty basic: soup, salads, sandwich, burgers, etc. There was nothing new to try - except maybe the faux lox. Overall, we thought it was a little pricey for what it was. We ordered the lox sandwich and salad deluxe. Both were tasteless and didn't have anything special to it. The sandwich was big but came with no side. Also, the ingredients in the salad didn't really go well all mixed together (I.e. guacamole + faux lox), itd be probably better to eat it all separately. Overall, it's a good place when you can't find vegan food near by. But I wouldn't consider it a "must do" in Montreal.

Love this place! Very generous portions and always very tasty. I've had the caesar salad a couple times, as well as their burrito plate -- both very good. Their sandwiches are great too.

    Yasssss. Thai bowl.

I NEED TO STEAL THIS RESTAURANT & TRANSPLANT IT INTO TORONTO/GTA. Montreal's first vegan restaurant and definitely one of the BEST I've ever tried. They have a huge menu where EVERYTHING is vegan and I don't have worries on 'hm, would this have egg/dairy in it?' ..needless to say, it's so blessed. We ate here pretty much daily on our montreal trip and we were so so so happy with it. Service is top notch and they're super friendly AND bilingual. Bless. Food came out very quickly too. The menu is HUUUGE and I wanted to eat everything, to be honest. I was sad that I didn't get to try the blueberry pancakes for brunch. I did try the BLT made with coconut bacon and the portions made my inner fat kid extremely happy.. it was pretty much good enough for two people. I'm used to the vegan restaurants in the greater toronto area charging people $30 for a lettuce leaf so when the food came, you can tell I was a happy child.. I couldn't even finish more than half of the thai bowl. In addition to that, heir food is very high quality & definitely fresh. The star of the show is definitely their desserts - if you're vegan, you definitely feel me on this one: it's SOOOO difficult to find vegan desserts just anywhere. I definitely took advantage. Did I order vegan cheesecake (gateau faux-mage .. so cute) for brunch dessert? You bet the hell I did! It was definitely just like real cheesecake and unbelievably creamy. Um yes, please. Can someone please make this for me back home?!?!? I crave it, just thinking about it and I don't even like sweets, so wtf? Definitely one of my top must-visits whenever I come back to mtl.
