Matcha Cold Drink Oolong - House Blend Chai - House Blend

The outside of Jardin is super cute, with a convenient pick-up window setup right inside a food hall with plenty of other seating options nearby. We stopped by for a quick drink break and tried three flavors--boba chai, matcha, and oolong--to get a good taste of their menu. The drinks came out fast, and the staff was very kind and efficient. While the flavors were okay and refreshing, they didn't stand out as anything particularly special. Still, it's a nice spot to grab a quick, cold drink while exploring Chinatown!

Got the Banana Breeze Milk Tea !! Banana flavor is definitely noticeable, but a bit too sweet & slightly artificial tasting. Still, it hit the spot (I was craving Banana coffee, but nowhere in Seattle sells this!) and the would purchase again

Came here and tried their horchata chai milk tea with boba. The drink overall was okay. I was hoping for more flavor and it tasted like a regular milk tea to me. I would still come back to try other drinks.

I'm never one to turn down boba and I love trying new spots. However, I will say -- there's a LOT of bubble tea spots opened in the Chinatown-ID area, which means competition is fierce and shops really have to step up their tea quality and creativity in order to keep up. Jardin Tea does well in that they keep up on the trends. There's a popular dalgona coffee drink, as well as the brightly colored butterfly pea flower teas. I tried the Matcha Butterfly Pea Flower Lemonade with mango jelly. I quite enjoyed my drink; it was refreshing and not too sweet. The butterfly pea flower paired well in the lemonade. My only gripe is that their price points lean on the expensive range. After toppings and tax, it's more than $7 for a drink. A big part of Jardin Tea is focused around sustainability and using naturally sourced materials, and I admire that. I also just think the price is relatively high compared to other nearby boba/tea shops. That being said, I enjoyed my drink and will come back when I am craving a drink that isn't just your traditional milk tea, because I think they thrive with creating unique menu items. Plus, their whole vibe is pink pink pink and it's really quite eye-catching.

The tea was not as strong as I would have liked Tasted a lot like milk with some flavor Size was also on the smaller side Probably wouldn't come back, there are so many other options with stronger and larger size team around

I was in the area and decided to get boba for dessert. I've walked by this place numerous times when I shop at Uwajimaya, but I finally decided to check it out this time. I got the Blue Cafe Latte with boba which is quite expensive. Specialty drinks are $6-7 plus boba $0.50 and they also tack on tax as well, so you're looking at $7-9 for a modestly sized drink. The drink itself is quite solid, as there were flowery notes combined with coffee. There's no customization but there's a light amount of ice with a modest amount of sugar. However, as good as the drink is, the boba here sucks. It is very mushy and not chewy at all, which made the drink not too enjoyable. If I'm paying this much for a drink, I have very high expectations on the overall quality that they failed to meet. Overall, this place does have some nice drinks that you might not find elsewhere. I'd for sure recommend to skip on the boba, but decide for yourself if these above average quality drinks justify the very high price tag they charge.

If you're looking for aesthetic and refreshing drinks, I recommend Jardin Tea. They are known for their creative and colorful drinks. There is a wide selection from fruity teas to the trendy Dalgona latte. In terms of price, the drinks can be a little expensive, but comparable to most of the other bubble tea shops in the C-ID. Jardin recently moved into Uwajimaya Seattle, located next to the entrance closest to the Light Rail station. I haven't tried the milk teas as much and prefer their fruity drinks, especially their popular Guava Passionfruit Oolong Tea. However, their new Mango Dragon Passion Green Tea 'Dragon Juice' is a close second favorite. Along with their selection of drinks, Jardin also offers desserts. I'm looking forward to trying the Matcha Cinnamon Cro-Bites and their beautifully decorated cakes in the future. I hope in the near future that Jardin Tea will offer online ordering. Depending on the time of day, there can be a line, especially with new customers undecided on what to order.

One look at the pink drink and my mind was set! Until I took a look at the Dalgona picture and I immediately changed my order. Wow this one's good! I still want to try the pink one but the Dalgona is apparently also the mixologist at the time I came in's favorite drink and with so many amazing drinks to choose from at Jardín tea, I think that says a lot about this Dalgona. The coffee flavor is nicely balanced out and it's so creamy that I was sipping on this nonstop until it was gone.

We ordered on the kiosk. We ordered the matcha rose green tea and jasmine green tea, both with lychee jelly. There is no sweetness adjustment; I think the baristas mentioned that the drinks are already at the lowest level. We didn't find that we needed adjustments anyways, and we usually order our drinks with 25% or 50% sweetness. You can actually taste the flavors of the tea. The place is connected to another part of a building and is rather small. The decor fits the name like a garden, and I love the cute cafe vibe. We can't wait to come back for more drinks and try the food!

Jardin Tea is a very beautiful and aesthetic nook in the Uwajimaya food court. It is right at the entrance of 5th Ave S and S Weller St. They serve creative drinks with an array of toppings and milk replacement. My favorite is the strawberry rose matcha which has been delicious every time. The only factor detracting from the experience is a multi-tasking (drawing, looking down on a phone/tablet, crocheting, etc.) cashier who "works" there. She gave us an extremely unwelcoming and dismissive attitude as if she was annoyed that we distracted her from whatever else she was doing. It is possible to sit and enjoy the drinks in the Uwajimaya food court or the few counter seats by the shop.

I heard from my friend about this place as they had these interesting banh mi so decided to check it out. I got the crawfish banh mi and the lobster banh mi. One thing though, is that I asked for no mayo on both sandwiches and still got mayo, so that was a little disappointing The crawfish banh mi - it was good, they definitely packed a lot of crawfish in there and you can easily tell that it's crawfish from the smell and flavor of it. A little on the saltier side. I added an egg on this sandwich thinking that it would be a sunny side up style egg like most places where they offer egg as an option. Instead, I got a scramble eggs so it made it feel more like a breakfast type of sandwich which can be a good or bad thing I guess. Lobster banh mi - I like the flavor of this banh mi better as it wasn't overly salty but with a hint of sweetness to it. However, I wish the their lobster wasn't so shredded or minced as it was very hard to tell that it was lobster meat. I wouldn't have known it was lobster unless someone told me. And since you are paying double for this sandwich, you would want to know that you're eating lobster. I also got a drink from here a while back and it's pretty good. It was a iced matcha butterfly pea flower lemonade. It was pretty refreshing. Overall, the crawfish sandwich at ~$11 was definitely more worth it than the lobster sandwich at ~$16. The drinks are refreshing.

I think aesthetically the drinks are beautiful, but for the price point and what you get, it's better to go to a different standard boba place or regular coffee stand. I will give them the fact they're both a coffee shop and a boba shop, and they do offer unique combinations and flavors. But maybe I can't appreciate the nuances of flavors of teas and coffee combinations, but I can't really tell the differences.

If you're in need of a quick lunch spot, this is the place to be! They have all sorts of options from banh mi, toast, smoothie bowls, bubble tea and much more! I absolutely loved the Cajun crawfish banh mi! Very unique and nothing I've had before! The food here is creative and different from most cafes! They also have a nice area to eat, snack and chill!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #118…read more Located across from Westlake Center, this is a full fledged Xing Fu Tang, complete with a bubbling black sugar boba wok and their signature fortune sticks. I especially love the menu towards the rear of the store that depicts all the drinks and whether they contain dairy or tea. Walking in on a Thursday evening right before dinner, it was surprisingly crowded inside. All the seats were taken and there was a small line waiting to order at the kiosk. Luckily the staff is efficient, and I had my drink within a couple of minutes. Taiwan Boba Milk Tea, Large, 25% Sweet, Less Ice ($8.29) - Xing Fu Tang really focuses on two things: black sugar and milk. That focus is evident in this drink, where there's a strong mineral essence from the sugar, and somehow a really strong milkiness (despite being dairy free). The tea? It's an afterthought, with only some flat malty notes to complement the rich and sugary drink. With that being said, the drink is flavorful enough that I don't mind the lack of tea quality at all. Now the sweetness level could use some adjustment - the milk tea by itself is probably good at 25% but with so much of the boba marinade added, it goes up quickly. I might even order 0% next time. In terms of ice, they have less ice as default which I would consider similar to full ice at other boba shops. At least it seems that way since they used large cubed ice in their drinks rather than more typical chipped ice. This drink comes with boba. The boba is clearly homemade, being almost the same texture throughout, and is somewhat lumpy and cuboid in shape rather than perfect spheres. It marinates in the black sugar for a long time, rendering them superbly sweet and sticky. Unfortunately they are there for perhaps too long - at least when I visited, they were near the bottom of the wok. This means the boba is entirely too soft, with a single bite slicing through the sides of the pearl without too much resistance. They also tend to clump up, forming larger conglomerates that get stuck in the boba straw. While there's still somewhat of a bounce, it's noticeably less than perfection. Milk Tea Rating: 4/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 I visited again a couple of weeks later for the Oolong Milk Tea, to see if they could eek a little more tea flavor out of another kind of leaf: Heaven Roast Oolong Boba Milk Tea, Large, 50% Sweet, Less Ice ($8.29) - This tea is a bit more flavorful than the regular milk tea, with a somewhat vegetal and earthy essence that kind of reminds me of Tieguanyin. There's even a slight drying astringency. I forgot to review my notes and ordered this at 50% sweet, which is way, way too sweet for my tastes. I'm definitely going to go with 0% if I visit again. The boba is the same slightly mushy texture as the last visit. At least they are consistent between visits? Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 So overall: the tea that Xing Fu Tang serves is alright, muddled but better quality than a lot of other boba shops. The boba unfortunately is mushy, which I honestly can't say I've seen all that often. I do have to give them props for making their boba in house given how rare it is. Bathrooms - Single unisex room

Because it was hot and sweaty, a big sea of people were waiting both outside and inside this place, and I saw only about 5 or so staff members making all the drinks. There's only two tables and two benches to sit at on the right-hand side of the place; otherwise, the rest of the space is behind the counter where all the drinks are made and the strong aromatic aroma of tea fills the interior. From my visit here, I think you can only place orders either through their lone kiosk to the left-hand side of the entrance near a corner, or by scanning the QR code at the front of the entrance and following prompts on your phone. Staff was too busy making drinks to take orders at the front counter when I was inside. Either way, you have to use the HeyTea app to scan a QR code (on the receipt you get after placing your order) if you want to see an estimate on when your drink(s) will be ready. By the time I signed up for an account and downloaded the app using the slow 5G, my estimated time was 25 minutes; however, the wait for my triple supreme matcha latte (with extra matcha, less sugar and all other things in their recommended settings) ended up being more than 45 minutes as I walked around the perimeter and waited inside and outside this location as well. It was really chaotic trying to get my drink once it was ready; people were cutting in front of me and others to show staff their receipt and pick up their orders even though I was in front of the line. Taste wise though, the matcha is a strong ceremonial blend with grassy tones that actually caught me by surprise. That's because they have a matcha cheese cloud which I thought would have dulled the matcha taste but it didn't! There's also matcha mochi and what tasted like matcha jelly on the bottom which further strengthened the earthy tones. Probably because it was really hot as of this writing, the ice melted much fasted than usual so that's out of this place's control and therefor doesn't detract from my experience itself. Wait here was really long for just one drink but I'm thankful there's something you can use to see when your drinks are ready - in this case, their HeyTea app. I would probably only come back if I was around the area, though wait times for drinks might deter me from doing so altogether.

CHICHA San Chen delivers a premium tea experience, but it comes with a premium price tag! It's…read morebasically $10 for a drink, and they only offer one size, which is the smaller size of a usual tea place's volume. BUT they are remarkably consistent, with perfectly chewy pearls and high quality teas. So, even though I'm paying a lot, I know it's going to be good. I got the Dong Ding Oolong with cream, perfect sweet and less ice with boba. The Dong Ding oolong is a high mountain oolong with a strong malty, nutty, roasty taste. It perfectly complements the cream. I prefer cream as opposed to milk since I think the cream gives the drink a thicker, more velvety mouthfeel if you mix it into the tea, plus before mixing you can sip on the cream and the tea separately, so it's like you can enjoy two drinks in one cup!

Since Chicha San Chen opened its Bellevue Square location, I have stopped by a couple times. While…read morethey serve some of the best boba, the tea flavor tastes a bit diluted compared to what I noted in my previous review. Because they brew each cup on order, I expected the tea to be more apparent, but in every drink I've tried it takes a backseat to other flavors. + DONG DING OOLONG TEA LATTE: I opted for light sugar and light ice. Despite being one of the most popular drinks, the tea flavor was weak and the cream dominated. It had a smooth consistency with subtle caramel notes, so it still tasted good, but I would have loved for the tea to shine more. At least the $1 addition of boba is pretty generous and I had enough for every sip! It was perfectly cooked with that nice chewy bounce. Since the boba itself is sweetened, going to 0% sweetness would probably be just sweet enough for me. + OSMANTHUS TEA w/ PASSIONFRUIT: Again, this leaned heavily toward the passionfruit rather than delivering a distinct tea flavor. (Side note: At the register, I received a sample of the High Mountain Pouchong Tea with Mango. This was sweet, super fruity and reminded me of mango nectar. It's really delicious, but only had a tiny hint of green tea.) + OSMANTHUS OOLONG HONEY TEA: I selected light sugar and light ice without toppings, hoping to taste the pure tea. I picked up the floral notes of the Osmanthus and the tea flavor came through a wee bit more than the other drinks, though still wasn't the dominant flavor. The amount of honey was on the verge of being too sweet, but the drink overall was refreshing and crisp. The new location in Bellevue Square is very clean with a few tables for two along the wall. It is consistently busy, so just be prepared for a wait. However, there are multiple employees preparing the drinks, so while the line appears long, they churn out orders pretty quickly without getting flustered. It's impressive! Given the steep pricing for the cup size and the weak tea flavor, Chicha San Chen wouldn't be my go-to spot considering all the other boba tea options in Bellevue.
