Jardin is an interesting boba spot with a ton of unique flavors. Albeit the (specialty) drinks are slightly pricier than usual, it seems they also include crema by default. As part of the Uwajimaya food court, it's easy to get in and get out or grab a drink for the road, plus there's validated parking. They also have sandwiches, soup, and donuts. I'd stick to just the drinks though. Plenty of other options in the food court. While I thought some drinks were good, I thought the overall experience was average. I ordered on at 5pm on a weekday and noticed the "Happy Hour Specials" so I decided to also snag a sandwich. Well, that advertisement was a lie. Their menu advertises 20% off for the combo of a sandwich and a drink while their digital screen shows 10% off with a soup (without the limited happy hour). In the end, I paid about $20 with tax and tip for a sandwich and a drink so they clearly did not honor the happy hour. It's not much at the end of the day, but false advertisement is a bad user experience. Overall, the service is very mediocre. Menu does not make it evident that sugar and ice levels can be adjusted and the employees cannot be bothered to ask. Same with any milk substitutions. Once you receive the drink, it's evident that sweetness can be adjusted at least, still unsure about the ice. Plus the experience with the combo showed apathy. Turkey Grilled Cheese Sandwich - I had ordered food before but saw the happy hour and went for a sandwich. My other food was ready quickly while this grilled cheese took close to 25 minutes. My drink was ready 10 minutes before so I was just left waiting. It's a solid sandwich with a strong amount of cheese but lacking in the protein. Not worth the price. Uhi Empress Milk Tea w/ Boba - first of all, boba is pretty solid. Flavorful with fair sugar coating and chewy, only lacking a bounce. Uhi is another purple yam like ube but originates from Hawaii. Flavor is very similar, so ube and taro enjoyers will appreciate this drink. Jardin Pink Milk Tea - as one of their signatures, I knew I had to try it. The flavor is a watered down lychee jelly and while lychee jelly as a topping tastes fine, this liquid form just tastes off. Not very sweet as a drink but also lacking flavor. More like water with mashed up lychee jelly without the texture. I would honestly never get this drink again, but the others were good. Banana Breeze Milk Tea - good old fashioned banana milk! If you've ever had the little cartons or banana milk tea from a spot like Boba Guys, this is very similar. Banana is flavorful and sweet but the tea helps prevent a sugar overload, so the drink is balanced. read more

The drinks were pretty unique. There is a wide selection of teas to choose from. We got the Lavender Vanilla Skies milk tea with the creme foam on top and the horchata milk tea with creme foam. I enjoyed the lavender one and it was very pretty when I first got it. The hint of lavender is subtle but the creme was very good! It was nice and sweet and light. The horchata drink was alright. I spent a lot of time trying to decide why it was I liked my drink, the Jasmine Lychee Green tea. It was very flowery, but not overpowering. Sweet from the lychee, but earthly from the green tea. It had so many layers and was just so odd that I literally kept laughing while I was drinking it. I saw a picture of a Pumpkin special and was interested so I asked about it. The person taking my order didn't really answer my question about what was in it and just told me to look at the picture and that they use real pumpkin. It was kind of weird and made me not want to ask any other questions. The drink itself was fine - it came out quickly and actually just tastes like Starbucks' Pumpkin Chai since I couldn't taste the matcha in the foam on top. However, I will say -- there's a LOT of bubble tea spots opened in the Chinatown-ID area, which means competition is fierce and shops really have to step up their tea quality and creativity in order to keep up. Jardin Tea does well in that they keep up on the trends. There's a popular dalgona coffee drink, as well as the brightly colored butterfly pea flower teas. I tried the Matcha Butterfly Pea Flower Lemonade with mango jelly. I quite enjoyed my drink; it was refreshing and not too sweet. The butterfly pea flower paired well in the lemonade. My only gripe is that their price points lean on the expensive range. After toppings and tax, it's more than $7 for a drink. A big part of Jardin Tea is focused around sustainability and using naturally sourced materials, and I admire that. I also just think the price is relatively high compared to other nearby boba/tea shops. That being said, I enjoyed my drink and will come back when I am craving a drink that isn't just your traditional milk tea, because I think they thrive with creating unique menu items. I was in the area and decided to get boba for dessert. I've walked by this place numerous times when I shop at Uwajimaya, but I finally decided to check it out this time. I got the Blue Cafe Latte with boba which is quite expensive. Specialty drinks are $6-7 plus boba $0.50 and they also tack on tax as well, so you're looking at $7-9 for a modestly sized drink. The drink itself is quite solid, as there were flowery notes combined with coffee. There's no customization but there's a light amount of ice with a modest amount of sugar. However, as good as the drink is, the boba here sucks. It is very mushy and not chewy at all, which made the drink not too enjoyable. If I'm paying this much for a drink, I have very high expectations on the overall quality that they failed to meet. Overall, this place does have some nice drinks that you might not find elsewhere. I'd for sure recommend to skip on the boba, but decide for yourself if these above average quality drinks justify the very high price tag they charge. read more

If you're looking for aesthetic and refreshing drinks, I recommend Jardin Tea. They are known for their creative and colorful drinks. There is a wide selection from fruity teas to the trendy Dalgona latte. In terms of price, the drinks can be a little expensive, but comparable to most of the other bubble tea shops in the C-ID. Jardin recently moved into Uwajimaya Seattle, located next to the entrance closest to the Light Rail station. I haven't tried the milk teas as much and prefer their fruity drinks, especially their popular Guava Passionfruit Oolong Tea. However, their new Mango Dragon Passion Green Tea 'Dragon Juice' is a close second favorite. Along with their selection of drinks, Jardin also offers desserts. I'm looking forward to trying the Matcha Cinnamon Cro-Bites and their beautifully decorated cakes in the future. I hope in the near future that Jardin Tea will offer online ordering. One look at the pink drink and my mind was set! Until I took a look at the Dalgona picture and I immediately changed my order. Wow this one's good! I still want to try the pink one but the Dalgona is apparently also the mixologist at the time I came in's favorite drink and with so many amazing drinks to choose from at Jardín tea, I think that says a lot about this Dalgona. There is no sweetness adjustment; I think the baristas mentioned that the drinks are already at the lowest level. The only factor detracting from the experience is a multi-tasking (drawing, looking down on a phone/tablet, crocheting, etc.) cashier who "works" there. She gave us an extremely unwelcoming and dismissive attitude as if she was annoyed that we distracted her from whatever else she was doing. I heard from my friend about this place as they had these interesting banh mi so decided to check it out. I got the crawfish banh mi and the lobster banh mi. One thing though, is that I asked for no mayo on both sandwiches and still got mayo, so that was a little disappointing The crawfish banh mi - it was good, they definitely packed a lot of crawfish in there and you can easily tell that it's crawfish from the smell and flavor of it. A little on the saltier side. I added an egg on this sandwich thinking that it would be a sunny side up style egg like most places where they offer egg as an option. Instead, I got a scramble eggs so it made it feel more like a breakfast type of sandwich which can be a good or bad thing I guess. Lobster banh mi - I like the flavor of this banh mi better as it wasn't overly salty but with a hint of sweetness to it. However, I wish the their lobster wasn't so shredded or minced as it was very hard to tell that it was lobster meat. I wouldn't have known it was lobster unless someone told me. And since you are paying double for this sandwich, you would want to know that you're eating lobster. I also got a drink from here a while back and it's pretty good. It was a iced matcha butterfly pea flower lemonade. It was pretty refreshing. Overall, the crawfish sandwich at ~$11 was definitely more worth it than the lobster sandwich at ~$16. The workers are super nice and patient especially for the undecided. We ordered two different teas and they were delicious however the sizes are smaller than the other teas in the area. If you are enjoy a milkier tea then this is for you. The blend of tea, milk and topping is their recipe and mixed well. I've been here before and enjoyed the tea, so I ordered a Pink Milk Tea. It was good, but I was seriously disappointed in the customer service. Let me start by saying I have a sensory processing issue that makes separating out conversations from a noisy background difficult. And I don't fault anyone for the music the shop was playing or the chatter in the food court behind me. It is what it is. But when I ordered my drink, the woman who took my order seemed very irritated to be doing so, and when I couldn't hear her ask for my name, I politely asked her to repeat herself. She asked again, very loud and very rudely, what my name was and then told me the price and looked incredibly unhappy with me as I paid. I spent around $8 here, including a $2 tip, but I was disgusted by the service. When my drink was finally ready, I was leaning on the wall next to the counter, and my friend had to point out my drink on the counter. I ordered the Strawberry Rose Matcha Latte with boba/less sweet, and it was underwhelming. The quality of the ingredients is really good, but the execution fell short: - It needed more matcha. The matcha flavor was really mild, and tasted more like milk with a hint of matcha. - It needed a strawberry puree, or the strawberries should have been muddled/crushed. I really appreciated the frozen strawberry bits, and it was nice to occasionally encounter one while sipping, but that was the only time I tasted any strawberry in the drink. A puree would have distributed the strawberry flavor more throughout the drink. - I didn't taste rose at all. I suspect they use rose syrup, and since I asked for less sweetness, the rose flavor also got lost. - There was a lot of ice, which watered down an already mild-tasting drink. I probably should have asked for less/no ice. Including tip, the drink was $9. Quite pricey, but would have been worth it to me if it were executed better! Service was good and boba was well-made.
