    Storefront for Jasmin

I was not sure whether to give this place a four-star or a five-star rating. But the food was so good, I bumped it up to a five as there were really no negatives about my experience here. I was staying down the road at the Crowne Plaza. This place stood out to me on Yelp as I was searching for a dinner spot. It was a nice night and this establishment was only about a 1.5 km walk straight down the main road into Hoofddorp (about 15 - 20 minutes) and was easy to find. I arrived at about 8:45 PM and was comfortably in time for dinner as they were open until 10 PM. The storefront was nice enough and was among a series of shops in the small, not-so-old city center. The interior decor was pleasant enough. They were not busy as there was only one other party in the restaurant at the time. Just one other party walked in before I was finished so it was a nice, quiet dinner hour for me. I was seated right away and my server, who I surmised to be one of the proprietors, attended to me quickly. The service was quite good during my visit. The menu offered several favorites but I chose to start with the Chicken Corn Soup. It was quite good. For my main, I opted for the Chicken in Spicy Sauce. It came with rice and was excellent. This was one of the better Chinese meals I have had in a while. It had just the right amount of heat and a very nice flavor. The cost was rather reasonable. My final bill including food, drink and a tip was €30. This was $35 USD with the exchange rate at the time. I was not unhappy with this value considering the quality. Overall, this establishment offered a good dining experience. The food was excellent, the facility was nice, the service was good and the prices were reasonable. I will try this place again when the opportunity presents itself.

Really good Chinese food. Mainly Cantonese style. The waitress are all from Hong Kong. The best dish is the hot sour soup. It's the best hot sour soup I've ever had in my life. All dishes had great presentations. So strange. Never saw a Chinese restaurants care about the presentations. All my coworkers love this Restaurant and they want to come to this restaurant every night.

Authentic Chinese. I felt like I was back in Hong Kong. I agree with other posts about the Peking soup. Nice and thick and loaded with taste. The menu has a bit of an interesting variety. Not just mandarin and seshuan, but nasi goreng and other Malaysian dishes: satay and etc. But it was the Peking Duck with spicy sauce that I had and was just excellent. And to top it off the staff is friendly and accommodating. I must say, not knowing, I did ask about the "shark fin soup" and they confirmed it is artificial shark fin. They have three types, including a traditional "shark" fin soup.

Jasmine was a great Thai restaurant. A little hard to find but well worth the search. They had great starters and we ordered many different dishes and tried them all we were not disappointed with any of them. We had a family of six and they were happy to have us there. They even stayed late to make sure that we were happy and well served. They actually brought heater plates to the table so that your food was hot while you ate.

Authentic Dim Sum in the Heart of Amsterdam If you are looking for authentic Chinese flavors near…read morethe Red Light District/Chinatown, Oriental City is the place to go. It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

This particular restaurant satisfied my craving for Asian food, located next to the Red Light District. Service was very helpful and friendly, food was just as good! Was also interesting to see the Asian staff speak Norwegian also to other customers. Great place to get your Asian food fix when traveling here.
