Buyer beware. This illusionist's staff will make your smile disappear!
I booked three tickets to a show. Fifteen minutes later, I was notified of a family emergency and attempted to cancel. I contacted George, a member of Mr. Bishop's staff and received a discourteous response. I admit it was my mistake for not reading the fine print in the contract that the tickets were non-refundable. However, I can't recall the last time I was spoken to so unprofessionally by a customer service agent in the past.
Excerpt from email:
"This is stated more than once on the website and there is a checkbox that guests MUST check in order to proceed with purchasing tickets that states they understand this policy. In fact no refunds is in the overt policy name.
We hide nothing and no one is forced to agree or to purchase tickets.
Why the policy? Most ticketing systems have a no refund policy, it's been standard for decades.
You want to cancel literally less than 2 hours prior to a show. There are numerous aspects that go into show promotion that are based on ticket revenue; like advertising, staffing, whether there will even be a show or not, etc.
I have already extended our policy for you to allow you to use the tickets for any other date, I've been as accommodating as I can be.
There are almost no other theatrical production shows that refund tickets for any reason and your reason is listed in the policy.
You may go online and read it again for yourself. I've attached the header here.
I'm not quite sure how it "leaves a bad taste in your mouth" when you literally agreed to exactly this policy and this circumstance. " read more
