He is a great physician. He takes his time goes over all my concern. Reviews all test results with me.

Dr Jason Vuong's team called and told me the Dr wants to set a call after my annual breast exam. Since he requested the call, I was expecting he would share some additional medical opinions that's not in the report, so I accepted the appointment request. However, he literally read out loud my report in the call (as if he's reading it the first time) and suggested me to get MRI, which was already suggested in the report! The appt lasted ~10min. Most part he was reading the report and I received no additional medical info other than what's already in the report. With all this nonsense, I got a bill of $325 (after insurance coverage), which including an added $72 for "Complex E/M Visit Add On". This is a joke! read more

I've had Dr. Vuong as my PCP for more than a year now, and couldn't be happier! He's really worked with me and helped me turn my health around. When I first saw him I had a bunch of health issues (including obesity), but with regular checkups and his patient, simplistic explanation of conditions and treatments, he's really helped me live my best life! I'm now fit, feel good and don't really need too many doctor's visits these days. read more

I've had a great experience with Dr. Vuong as my PCP! I appreciate how he wanted to go over my medications with me and find the right fit. Not just dosage, but helping me out with size, because I can't swallow the larger pills. He's also been accessible to ensure I can get refills when I am getting low and have procrastinated getting them refilled until almost too late. I appreciate his approach to trying to solve problems without blindly adding more medication. As I diabetic, I already take a lot of medication. I want a holistic approach from my PCP, not just medication management. read more

Just saw Dr Voung for the first time this week after I got tired of making my way to San Francisco every time... Dr Vuong took his time to understand my issues and we jointly agreed on a path forward. I felt we had a good connection right away and never felt he was rushing through our meeting... Dr. Vuong is a fantastic primary care doc. As my PCP, he took the time to understand and address all my questions/concerns at my first visit with him, then prioritized the issues that we needed to address, made the specialist referrals for a few matters that never came up in my visits to my prior PCP (who was in a different system). It feels like he's treating me as a person, not just a symptom. I was new to Sutter when I first saw him. In that first visit, after assessing my general health and concerns, we prioritized the things we needed to address and when I walked out of the clinic, I had appointments with two specialists. Not just referrals and phone numbers -- actual appointments. I know that doctors are always under time pressure in today's world, but you would not know that based on how Dr. Vuong treats me during office visits. The Sutter system is first class, and Dr. Vuong is a great doc whose personal approach to health care fits perfectly within their system. read more

Jason is an exceptional physician. Currently he sees both my 91 year old parents. My wife and I accompany them during their appointments and have found him to be meticulous and very thorough. He has a great bedside manner, acknowledges our concerns, explains what needs to be treated so we can adjust accordingly. He has a genuine concern for the health and well being for my parents. Appointments with Jason is something we look forward to when bringing my parents to their appointments. Dr Vuong is a fantastic doctor. He is positive about how he can help, but more importantly, how the patient can help himself. I came in with high blood pressure. We talked about pills and we talked about diet. The pills are fine, but he emphasized how my taking control of my diet will help me demonstrably. He was absolutely right. When I went back in a couple of months later, the BP was down and the weight was starting to come down. That's when Dr Vuong turned into a real advocate. Unfortunately my experience with Dr. Vuong mirrors that of the other reviewer who find him inexperienced and lacking. He was my PCP for half a year. More often than not, my questions to him were either dismissed or answered with "I don't know," not a good sign for a doctor who is supposed to care for his patients. Another area of concern: because of the pandemic, doctors offer as a convenience for patients "video visits" that are charged the same as office visits. Dr. Vuong heavily favors video visits but for a more cynical reason. When you need to discuss test results, obtain a prescription, or anything that is brief not requiring an office visit, doctors in practice can communicate by phone or by in-house messaging system free of charge. Not this doctor. Dr. Vuong will request that you set up a video visit so he can squeeze a fee from your insurance and you. Eventually you're left with a bad taste when you realize he is trying to "nickel and dime" for each and every minor interaction. Is this ethical? Avoid this doctor and you can save your pocketbook. read more

Sometimes it's been challenging for me to find great primary care doctors who share my commitment to be proactively healthy. This was especially challenging after I took the opportunity to get a Prenuvo full body scan as a preventative measure to set a baseline for my health. Thankfully Dr. Vuong was recommended to me, and I have found that he is committed to ensuring that my concerns are addressed, that I get the referrals I need to the follow up tests that are indicated, and that I get the support I need for my proactive health-centric approach to my health and wellbeing. Based on my personal experience with this doctor, my opinion and feedback is as follows: He barely spent 2 minutes for the Appointment although I waited for over 3 hours to just be able to see the doctor at the Urgent Care. He is quite dismissive of the symptoms I've been reporting and refused to take Notes of any invisible symptoms such as Brain Concussion after a car crash. Whereas, it can develop in to serious life threatening illnesses later on. He seemed quite judgmental, rude, impatient and negligent. I wish I never had to see this type of doctor who is not competent enough to provide compassionate care to his patients. He believes that if you did not fully pass out during a car crash, then its not considered as having a concussion even if airbags deployed and you developed neck and headaches afterwards and had bruises on the eye. He invalidates patients emotions, pain and suffering. If he does not believe it, then he falsely assumes that the patient is not suffering from these symptoms. He is quite inexperienced and lacking. Avoid this doctor if you can!!!!! read more

Never called back even patient had an urgent or critical case. I asked if he ever called to talk to a patient or reviewed a patient's files and he shamelessly said no. He added he was not like other doctors looking at patients files or returning a patient's call at the end of the day ( even in emergency cases). He ONLY talks to a patient if an appointment is made, either in office or via zoom ( so he can get money). When I saw him the first time for a physical checkup ( just to have some tests ordered). When I asked him about my cough, he immediately said cough was a separate issue and it would involve a different charge ( see how crazy this guy is for money). He seems quite incompetent. He did nit give any diagnosis of his own or course of treatment but the most he has ever done is write or referral. He has absolutely no characteristics and quality of a doctor. He must get into the career purely aiming at making money. He is the worst of the worst. He should have his license revoked. Doctors like him pose danger to patients safety due to neglect and incompetence. Avoid him at all costs. read more

This is the worst doctor I've ever seen. My previous doctor had retired so I had to find another one. I schedule an appointment with Dr Vuong for my yearly. He did not put a single hand on me except for when he checked my lungs with the stethoscope. He asked me to push on my own stomach and feel around my neck, etc. Completely hands off. I just had my annual checkup with Dr. Vuong an hour ago, he's my new assigned primary care physician because my previous primary care physician retired. Wow, it was by far the worst doctor visit I've had...... This is our first appointment. As my new primary care physician, he did not bother to try to get to know me, ie my life style (ie, how often I exercise, how long do I work each day) etc. The only questions he asked were what was my occupation, confirmed if I have two kids, and then asked me if I have any health concern. I started out telling him I had two major concerns. When I talked about the first one, he quickly dismissed it that's not a problem and did not bother to understand it more. When I'm about to talk about the 2nd problem, he started asking his next question, which was what my occupation is. I had to remind him that I still need to talk about my second concern. Again, when I talked about my second problem, he quickly dismissed it again as not a problem, and there's really not much that can be done to alleviate the pain I was experiencing. After the question and answer, we proceeded to the 'annual physical' exam which I haven't done for two years. The 'annual physical exam' literally took 1 minute. He listened to my heart and back, and then that was it. He then proceed to hand me a brochure on diet and said that the only thing I need to worry about is losing weight to prevent heart disease. He said that I need to exercise more and eat more healthy. I then told him I do exercise daily. He then realized that he hasn't really find out my lifestyle, so he quickly changed to say that I just need to watch my diet, and then he proceed to say that he'll see me my next year. Worst of all, after the visit, I visit Palo Alto Medical Foundation's website and read through the doctor's notes for this visit, I realized the doctor wrote down notes which were false. He listed out items such as 'Mental health evaluated. Healthy lifestyle discussed. Sun protection discussed'. Unfortunately, none of these were discussed in our visit.
