I went to this practice several weeks ago because a "doctor," who was not my PCP, but part of the…read moregroup of doctors where my PCP sees patients, sent a referral in the mail for me to see an oncologist. As you can imagine... he scared the H E double hockey sticks out of me! I was floored! To receive a referral out of the blue and by mail was overwhelming! The appointment had already been made for me with Dr. Sawhney. I trusted my life once again to the Great Physician, knowing He would put me in the best hands-- and He did! He's been practicing for many years; graduated from the Univ. College of Medical Sciences, Delhi Univ, New Delhi, Delhi, India in 1989. He works in Tamarac, FL and specializes in Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Sawhney is affiliated with Broward Health Coral Springs, Florida Medical Center a Campus of North Shore and Northwest Medical Center. He is professional, sensitive, soft-spoken and caring! The office building is located near University Hospital in Tamarac. Parking is a bit challenging, but the facilities are nice, and the staff is wonderful. The nurse was so sweet, and the phlebotomist who drew blood was the best I've had in a long long time. She found my vein from the get-go and she was very gentle. I was so happy, I gave her a Starbucks gift card! Dr. Sawhney was as perplexed as I was that I was there and said the referral was not only premature, but that they had skipped a step. I cried tears of relief, and he was professionally comforting. He set me up with a referral to a Gastroenterologist and I was thankful the staff made the appointment directly over the phone with the other specialist's office. Otherwise, it may have been several more weeks until I would have been able to set it up myself. My experience was 100% satisfactory and although this isn't the type of business that anyone wants to visit, should you need to, I highly recommend Dr. Sawhney. One last thing: Should you need to consult with an oncologist, please feel free to send me a short, to the point private message; no need for details. I want to pray and be whatever part of your support team you'll have me be. We're in this journey called life together--never alone!

No one notified me before hand so I could make arrangements with my work. my mom's not able to drive herself or hear the doctor because of severe hearing loss, so I need to be there. Also their waiting room seats about 8 people and every time we go there are about10-15 people standing in a small cramped space. They've now begun to make no patients, many of which are elderly caregivers wait outside the office in the heat of the summer. It's shameful.

From the moment I step foot into the building, I am greeted with warm smiles and lovely greetings. The check-in process is efficient; I receive a pager that directs me to the appropriate registration station, making the process seamless and quick. At the registration desk, I am welcomed with more smiles. They have my bracelet and itinerary ready, ensuring I know exactly where to go. I am always on the 3rd floor, where the warm smiles continue. The check-in process there is quick, and I have never experienced such efficiency and attentiveness in any other medical facility. When I am called back, I am met by the most caring nurses. No patient wants to be here given their diagnosis, but every single person in this building makes each visit a positive experience. When I first found out I had cancer, I was terrified to step foot in the building, but from my first visit, everyone made me feel like their priority. The staff is kind, compassionate, and they make you laugh. Most importantly, they genuinely care about you. During my visits, I find myself laughing, crying happy tears, and connecting with others who have been in my shoes. My entire team genuinely cares about me, and I can feel it. If anyone is in search of a cancer institute, you have to come here. I can promise you that you will not be disappointed.

It's a rather contemporary facility and pleasant contemporary atmosphere with plenty of seating. It works sort of along the lines of a Cleveland clinic, conveyor belt style or a one-stop-shop. It was my husband's first visit here and first time in a meeting the doctor. Everyone is super friendly and helpful, starting with the guards who check you in right on through to the doctor. It seems very nice but only time will tell if it's a place my husband wants to stay for his health care. I say this because it's different from the typical doctor office that you might be used to simply because it's a very large medical facility housing a lot of doctors staff and visitors with a lot of hustle and bustle.

First impression was that the facility was welcoming. The staff who greeted us were open, hospitable, and caring. This is so important to us especially in visiting an oncology clinic! She was seen by the nurse almost immediately. She was equally kind, caring and patient. My wife was then seen by the nurse practitioner Natalie Gallegos who exceeded expectations! She made us feel at ease, listened and asked key questions in a conversational manner. That type training is exceptional. Then the reason for the wonderful treatment to that moment came in. Dr. Calfa radiates such wonderful energy, with a smile while focusing on the person in front of her. Her presence relaxed us and gave us a sense that we were in exceptional hands. She was patient, warm while all the time a laser focused physician. We asked her for a referral to a PCP which she gave us and even called to have the Dr. Contact us for an initial consultation. Highly recommend Dr. Calfa and her fantastic team!
