Before starting our sessions, I was struggling with an over-excited Golden Retriever puppy. I had reached a point where I was losing hope, but Warren completely helped me regain my patience. His calm, expert approach changed the dynamic almost immediately. What sets this training apart is how manageable it is. Warren's training methods are intuitive, and his super detailed recap emails were a total game-changer. They made it incredibly easy to practice on my own between sessions, ensuring that we never lost momentum. Training didn't feel like a chore, and because Warren's methods actually work, it was super rewarding. Ultimately, I feel like I have a totally new dog and an infinitely stronger bond with her. I cannot thank Warren enough for his help. If you want a trainer who truly cares and delivers real results, Warren is your guy!

A few people had recommended Shelby Semel so we decided to give it a try and were SO incredibly lucky enough to be matched with Genevieve. I have never worked with a trainer so knowledgable about dog behavior. While other trainers in the past were rigid and just used the same, standard techniques that don't work for highly reactive and anxious dogs, Gen took the time to get to know and understand our dog and provided insight into his behavior. What I appreciated most is that she was always realistic with us and our training sessions/goals never felt idealistic or unattainable. Rather, we truly focused on little steps and management which also completely shifted our own perspective on how we should be engaging with our dog going forward. Gen worked with us through a huge move, the birth of our first child, and the introduction of our nanny and we credit all of our success to her. Even outside of sessions she checks in with texts to see how things are going and genuinely cares about the progress of your dog. If you want someone who will actually take the time to understand your individual circumstances/pet and will truly work with you on creating the right plan with realistic and actionable goals, I can't recommend Gen enough.

She has wonderful communication skills with dogs and people. And Taylor's professionalism, warmth and willingness to help with every detail and any challenge have been invaluable and deeply appreciated. Brianna's encyclopedic understanding of dog behavior combined with her fluidity in decoding it for us has been so incredibly helpful. Her skills and intuition are pretty amazing. She absolutely speaks canine. Her enthusiasm for her work and the calm energy she radiates are contagious and extremely instructive. Both of our dogs (our older guy is gone now) benefited immensely from their work with Brianna. And we've had richer and dare I say less stressful relationships with both of them because we understand so much more, thanks to her. If you couldn't tell, I recommend Kapooch as highly as possible. Honest and lovely people doing great work.

With about six weeks of training, our puppy can sit, lay down, settle, "leave" things , paw and ring a bell in prep for letting us when he wants to potty, let us clean and touch him, and not jump up immediately on guests. Our puppy still needs work on "leave it". The pup has very good leash etiquette, again with Yuruani showing us how to walk the dog. Most importantly the dog LOVES her.

He chewed my furniture, jumped on everyone, pulled the leash constantly, and tried to eat everything off the street. Since working with Angela, he's made huge progress in every area. While he's still a puppy and has his moments, he now pulls much less on walks, chews far less, and is generally much more obedient. Angela uses positive reinforcement, and Vesuvius absolutely loves seeing her -- his tail starts wagging the second she arrives. Beyond training, Angela is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and shares valuable advice on health, products, and how to better understand the way dogs see the world. She's always punctual, caring, and checks in on him if he's not feeling well or if any issues come up. It's clear she truly loves what she does and genuinely cares about the dogs she works with. I highly recommend Angela -- she's made life with my pup so much easier and more enjoyable.

First, The Delighted Dog offers more than simply dog-walking services. Their product offerings also include "Hound Hikes," day long excursions to a nearby farm. At the farm, my dog runs, plays and often-times trains for hours on end. The Hound Hikes give my puppy the (much needed) opportunity to burn off so much more energy, as well as socialize with other dogs and The Delighted Dog's best-in-class team. With brings me to my second point: top-notch, noticeably better dog-care professionals. Like almost any service job, what distinguishes The Delighted Dog is the passion of their staff for their work. I've dealt extensively with both Carlos and Taylor, who are extremely knowledgeable, personable and reliable. This team is on time, puts the owners and their dogs at ease, amenitizes the overall experience (treats, prompt pickups, etc) and does it all at a reasonable price. They go above and beyond. Frankly, my first thought was, "Is it going to worth the money?." Answer is it was the best money I ever spent. The main thing to know is that at Instinct it is not a one-off appointment. They provide you with training and support well past your initial session (for no extra charge). I've had dogs all my life but when Ginger started to refuse to be leashed up to go out and did not fit the profile of a dog afraid of the outdoors, I knew there was something else going on. On the Trello website they provide for you after your appointment, I posted each day with an update on Ginger's progress or lack there of. Brian responded promptly each day with thoughtful questions, insights and recommendations. He walked me through various possible issues and potential solutions until we got it right. With Brian's patience, expertise and generosity of time, we were able to determine the issue behind Ginger's reluctance to being leashed.

I was traveling with him, and our departure the next day depended entirely on making suitable arrangements for the dog. We needed care for 10 days, and with so little time to research options, we went with a recommendation from my trusted vet: Instinct Dog Behavior & Training. We reached out to person who identified herself as one of the co-owners, who offered to personally care for the puppy. Because he was too young to stay at the main facility, the plan was for her to keep him at her personal residence. We dropped him off at the East Harlem business location and headed home. My friend is very attached to his dog, and he even got an Uber back the same day just to bring the puppy's blanket. He left feeling reassured that the dog was in good hands. That night, my friend was already missing his puppy and asked for an update before bed, and she sent over some photos, which he shared in our group chat. At first glance they looked great. Almost too great. Anyone who has spent five minutes with an 8-week-old Aussie knows they never stand still, so my first thought was that she must be a remarkable trainer to get a puppy posed so perfectly. But looking closer, I noticed irregularities in the images, and they appeared to be AI generated. These were later confirmed to be AI generated. I want to be fair here. I don't believe there was any bad intent, and the puppy was returned to us in perfectly good condition. But sending what seemed to be AI-generated photos instead of a quick real snapshot was a lapse in judgment that undermined our trust at the worst possible moment. When you've handed over a very young puppy on short notice, an honest update matters more than a polished one. Given the circumstances, we felt more comfortable collecting the dog, and a refund was promptly issued, which we appreciated. With departure set for the following morning, there was no time to find replacement boarding, and the trip had to be cancelled entirely. Between the non-refundable bookings and rearranged plans, it turned into an expensive problem. Others clearly have good experiences here, and the co-owner was pleasant throughout. This just wasn't the right fit for us, and I'd encourage them to stick with real photos for owner updates, even imperfect ones. Honest beats perfect every time.
