Beware, do not let Danielle groom your dog. They used to have wonderful, careful and attentive groomers. Currently, they have Danielle who knows nothing about breeds or how they should be cut. She will shave matts down to the skin and give pom poms to dogs that are not poodles. The people in the store are nice but they failed to properly supervise this groomer who should not be allowed near dogs. read more

We've been bringing Murphy (our Aussie) here for years. Lou and the team are the best around, to the point where we walked 15 min each way (past two other dog daycares!) to get here. I absolutely am so grateful for Doggie-Do. Although I can only vouch for the Day-Care, I have to say I 100% recommend this location to any pet owner near the UES area. The staff here is very attentive and personable. They treat your pup as if its family, which is a key quality in choosing a daycare. Our dog has his own nickname there (or two?) and they know him very well. He absolutely LOVES going there. It's to the point that when we walk him ourselves, he drags us to the store! And if he sees any staff member on the street, forget about it. He turns inside out and wags not only his tail but his entire butt. We usually use Doggie-Do at least once a week. Our dog comes home super tired from all the playing and mental stimulation that he just wants to sleep. It's enough to give us a break from our hectic week and squeeze in a dinner night out. The daycare area has a small outdoor area that's completely fenced in and secure, and a separate area for big dogs/small dogs. Fresh water is available along with several little sleeping cots. They also carry a ton of pet products, foods, treats, carriers, beds, boots, etc. You name it. For food brands, I know they carry plenty of great brands that you won't normally see at Petco or Unleashed, which is a good thing. They don't carry Acana (which is what I feed my dog), but they have plenty of other healthy foods that I may consider switching him to one day. To gives some perspective from other daycare centers: We initially tried Biscuits and Bath when we moved here. It's a huge facility. Now I don't want to talk negatively, but after the third time taking him there our dog hated it. We would walk him to the door and then hand him to the staff and he would refuse to go. Again - maybe its nothing - but he hated going there for whatever reason. It's about where your dog is happy. He goes to Doggie Do and is literally the happiest of dogs. read more

We enrolled our dog here for their 10 session doggy day care trial run. Our dog was going there in the middle of winter between November and January. In mid January, when I brought our pup there, he started shaking and tucking his tail. At the time,I thought it was because he was cold and I did not have the proper jacket for him. Nyc was hitting -10 degrees at the time. Then it happened two more times. The last time I tried to bring him in, the moment he walked into the shop, he started whining, tucking his tail, and shaking. He tried to pull me towards the exit. I was completely shocked because I have never seen him display this type of behavior anywhere else. It clicked with me then that the only two times I have ever seen him display this type of behavior was when I was took him to this day care. I called the owner and told him concerns that something traumatic must have happened to my dog at his facility for him to behave this way. he assured me that he will look into this. He will show me tapes for all the days my dog was at his facility because he keeps tapes up to 30 days. A couple hours later, he called me back to tell me that he no long has the tape. Somehow the tape was "erased" Needless to say, I am extremely troubled by this. My dog is displaying behavior that indicates that he was traumatize at this doggy day care. The owner claimed he kept tapes and then all of sudden no longer have tapes. They offered me free sessions because he claims my dog could have been traumatized by his grooming session here. If that was the case, that is still problematic. I will not be taking my dog back here. I will not be recommending this place to anyone I know either. read more

We absolutely LOVE Doggie-Do and so does our pup. We have a 9 lb mini dachshund and he absolutely loves going here 2-3 times during the work week. But what makes this place better than other dog daycare places are the workers. One time, Murphy got sick and we called Doggy-Do and asked if they noticed anything suspicious when he was there during the day. The manager / owner took an hour out of his evening and personally reviewed all of the video footage for that day to see what might have happened to Murphy. He also gave us his personal cell number to update us on what he found in the videos. Murphy turned out to be just fine and had eaten something weird, but we will never forget the kindness and generosity of the manager. This is truly a 5 star establishment. I bring both of my dogs for daycare at least once a week. They have a very clean and beautiful playroom for the dogs to run around with an outdoor area as well and always staffed. Howie and Lou ( the owners) are so personable and have so much love for all animals, it shows and they bestow this in their staff as well. From what I've heard, they have quite the reputation for over 20 years as being a premier "spa" for pets. My dogs as I mentioned love the daycare and I've also had them groomed here. Every time I walk past they drag me in, so this tells me they love it here. Dogs don't lie. Doggie-do is a neighborhood gem and I'm so glad they are here! Just to mention the unbelievable experience had by Sara. I can't imagine how upsetting this all seems But how are your babies? You didn't mention if the haircut was decent because mine has never ever been better. Undeniable Perfection. My friend and neighbors have now been using Doggie-do for daycare and grooming without incident. Been taking my Cavalier here for the past few months. I went in because a neighbor had suggested their grooming services. Not only was I thrilled with the grooming (they have a solid value Basic Bath option) but I also discovered their excellent day care service. The one thing that really stands out about their daycare is that they keep dedicated staff members inside the play areas who are interacting with them at all times it's also nice that they have a little outdoor courtyard in the back so when the weather is nice the dogs get to roam outside. My dog and I sometimes bump into their staffers on the neighborhood streets and he attacks them with affection. The management is fantastic as well. On one occasion, my wife and I ran late and they had our dog upfront hanging out with them 15 minutes after closing time. Very nice and accommodating. They have a great intro pack too which is how I got hooked. read more

I used to take my lhasa apso there, and up until recently they always did a fantastic job. However, a few weeks ago after she got her haircut I noticed that they had completely cut off ALL of her GORGEOUS eyelashes! Absolutely horrifying. After you pick up your dog or puppy, please try this at home: Lift your arm up as if you are about to strike and watch your dog's reaction. If your dog reacts to your lifted arm by cowering and/or flinching, that means your dog was abused. I will not be taking my dog back to Doggie-Do to be groomed. I understand that some dogs are uncooperative and difficult to groom. If that is the case, they should have given up and called me to pick up my dog. Instead, I picked up my dog after 3 hours. I brought my dog home and noticed that my dog was behaving unusually. My dog appeared depressed and traumatized. After a few hours had passed since bringing her home from Doggie-Do, I tried the lifted-arm test and my dog cowered away. Please be aware that the groomer at Doggie-Do may abuse your dog. NO, NO, NO, NO! I was so excited when this place opened a block over from my apartment. I immediately made appointments for both of my dogs (1 for grooming, the other to cut his nails). They put my dogs in daycare for the day (for free, which is was the 1 positive). When I picked them up EVERY SINGLE nail was cut so short it was bleeding and my dog's stomach (who got groomed) was all scratched and red. I brought my dogs back to show them what they did and they said cutting their nails until they were bleeding was normal (ummmm, no) and that my dogs stomach got scratched during daycare. To make matters worse, while the guy at the desk was nice about the who situation (even though he never owned up to wrong doing), the little italian guy who walks around was INCREDIBLY rude. This place is baffling. On their website they claim that they offer a $200 a week puppy visit package where they visit your puppy in your home before it's fully vaccinated. I called about this and the guy on the phone treated me like I was out of my mind ("puppy visit? What's a puppy visit? You're talking about daycare"). I wasn't. I said I must have called the wrong place and hung up. I checked the website again and lo and behold there it was--"puppy visits." The phone number was the same as what I had called. I called back: "no you're thinking about daycare, they come in for the day." I explained that, as they said ON THEIR OWN WEBSITE, the whole point was that the puppy couldn't go outside, so no matter how condescending he was, I STILL WAS NOT TALKING ABOUT DAYCARE. He said that he had no idea what was on their website (great) and couldn't talk to me right now because there were too many people there. This place may or may not take good care of your dogs (I will not be finding out), but I can't imagine having to interact with that person every time I needed to contact my dog's daycare. read more

The best grooming place in the city! We travel into the city from Whitestone, Queens for our Double Doodle to get her hair cut. She always comes out looking like a show dog. The men who work there are sweet and accommodating and the groomer was knowledgable and nice! My pup tends to get matted and they got all her tangles out without shaving her down. I have been taking my pug here for the past year and he LOVES it. The staff who take care of the dogs are caring and really love the dogs. They pay attention to what is going on in the room. The owners are also extremely nice and create a warm environment for the owners and their dogs. There is an outdoor play area in the back which is awesome during nice weather. My dog is almost 4 years old and we've been going to doggie do since she was a few months. They are so helpful with my dog. She has extreme separation anxiety so daycare is perfect for us. I can bring her at 7:30am and pickup at 7:30pm when I work all day. I know she is in good hands for 12 hours! Also, my dog gets groomed at doggie do. They do an amazing job. She gets baths and haircuts often but still gets to play in the daycare with her puppy friends. I love when they do a flash-bath deal! Bath and blow outs are only $35 for dogs under 25 lbs. My dogs hair is crazy and gets matted easily so she is not easy to groom! I have known Lou and Anthony for a while now and I know they will take care of my anxious dog like she is their own. Also, the deal can't be beat: $2000 for 80 days! They are so good to us and I know I can always count on them. read more

My 2 King Charles Cavaliers Calvin and Coco have been taking me to Doggie Do and Playtime too ever since they opened four months ago. Everyday when I pass by for their daily walk, I have to pull the dogs off the steps saying lets go..... Where else can you feel comfortable knowing your dog is in a park like setting with other small dogs and they cannot escape. I love this place. They have a back yard for dogs in the summer time with a swimming pool too as well as Grooming and Boarding. If you're like me, you want to make sure you put your money to work and the dog caretakers are not on the phone and texting like many of the other Dog Gyms. I watched numerous times the staff play with the dogs, and I am happy to say, Doggie Do's Staff is TEXT Free! I drop the kids off in the morning and I just love to watch the interaction of my dogs with the other dogs and the caretakers of the Doggie Do closed circuit TV inside the store. Both get bathed when needed and they look and smell wonderful when they come home and jump in bed. As far as haircut, I have had 1 so far which looked great and Howie even gave spiced up Coco's haircut and put a bow in her hair. They go out of the way to make sure you and your dogs are happy. They have YAPPY HOUR every Thursday night, they have YAPPY HOUR. These guys know how to have fun! Music, Food and Drinks. It's a Social gathering for people and there pets. read more

At Doggie-do, there is a very clear show of such care and affection for dogs. It all begins there. The grooming of my dog was great and when I came to pick up my dog, he didn't show any distress which he has after other grooming a at other places. I was very happy with my experience here. What stood out to me the most was the staff, and how they truly connected and cared for my pup (she spent the day at the daycare.) My dog tends to get stressed when I leave her; however when I picked her up at doggie-do, she was happy and I could tell she had a great experience. Very satisfied with that!! Doggie-Do and Playtime Too deserves more than a five star rating. They make sure my puggle puppy is taken great care of during the day. He hasn't had all his vaccinations yet, but they have a separate room where they can care for dogs who are not 100% vaccinated yet. The staff on hand is very friendly and provides me with great tips and advice when caring for my puppy (since this is the first time I've owned one). Not only is the care great, but the hours are wonderful for those who work M-F and the cost is definitely reasonable! My dog is excited to see me at the end of the work day and I know just by the way they handle my puppy he is in good hands while I'm at work. I have been in NYC for ~2 years and the prices for dog daycare were baffeling! I had my little guy going to bisquits and bath because it was open long hours and close to my house. The people there were sweet but it was all indoors and my dog never was "excited" to go there. Fast forward to me with more and more debt and I come across Doggie Doo. I realized that their prices were way better than anywhere in the city if you just bought them in bulk, up front. I start taking my guy there (and again I liked B&B) it was like night and day! My dog would literally mope around if he had gone more than 3 days without daycare. I guess there is an outside area there so he LOVES it. Now when he is upset I ask "Doggie daycare tomorrow?" and he covers me in kisses. The owner is great too... He gave me special pricing for walks and daycare. He also would send one of his workers over to pick my dog up at 6:30 am from my apartment when I was already gone at work and send someone back to drop him off (when regretfully still at work). This place has made my life so much easier and has never had a problem with me last minute saying "Oh I have this for XYZ can my boy stay for 2 nights?" And all the workers there are so good with my pup, so many wags everytime they show up! I truly mean 5/5 stars here. read more

Very disappointed in this place. I wanted to love it as it a great concept. Unfortunately, execution not good. First of all, I found the man working at the front desk to be very rude and dismissive. I had called previously to make the appointment and the lady was lovely but when I dropped my dog off it was a different story. As a first time customer I was obviously hesitant to leave my dog and I felt the guy was annoyed that I wanted to stay and watch my dog on the webcam. I could see my dog was unhappy as the person in the day care wasn't playing at all with the dogs. My dog kept trying to get his attention and he was ignoring him. After his grooming appointment I saw cuts on his belly from the scissors!!! I never saw this before. I'm so upset and hate this place and I can't even call the place bc of the horrible guy answering the phone. read more
