It was dry - well done and no sauce. I added raspberry jelly - it seemed right. They didn't ask how I wanted the burger cooked - I wonder if that's not an option in Canada. Our group of 9 was seated in the back room. Love the art by Red George. Next time I visit I'm getting the Texas burger - bring on the gravy!

You are greeted when you walk in and told to go find a seat. You find one, and it there is no menu or other greeting. Our server finally came, took our drink and food order. The soup and salad came before our drinks. The Jalapeño cheddar soup was very spicy, which would have been fine, but it should have had more cream or cheese. It was slightly separated. I needed a drink, but I didn't get one for a bit, so I choked a couple of times. The schnitzel was good - not unreal, but good. Liked the mashed potatoes and gravy. A few of the green beans were overcooked. My wife had fish and chips. I guess tarter sauce only comes if asked for, which we had to. She liked it ok, thought the fries were good. I had some compassion on our server when I realized she was basically waiting on the whole restaurant - 2 large rooms. She was a little short, but not rude, and I understood why. She was working very hard, and we appreciated it. The food did come out quickly, so kudos to the cooks. The checkout was a mess, too. 3 teens trying to handle the gas station, convenience store, and restaurant. It's kind of a disorganized mess. At least they were friendly.

This place is more than a sandwich coffee shop, it's a place where special needs people get to work with the public & put their training they receive at the Centerline location to good use, preparing them for the workforce. There was only one gentleman from the training center working when we stopped in on Saturday, but he was so polite & boy o boy, he made some fabulous sandwiches! And I'll say, it's apparent they definitely received fantastic training because everything we received was delicious & top notch! First off, WOW is the inside of this establishment HUGE! Something I wasn't expecting. They have an area off to the right with a comfy couch & an oversized comfy chair to sit at while enjoying your coffee. You could also sit there & read a good book or work on your laptop/tablet. We got sandwiches for lunch & I'll start by saying they make most of (not sure if they make it all) their bread from scratch at their main locaiton in Centerline & transport it here. It's fresh & SO yummy! My friend got their reuben on homemade rye. She said it was delish. I got their turkey bacon wrap (minus the avocado), Both sandwiches were full of a LOT of meat & the bacon in mine was cooked fresh & the turkey was more like leftover Thanksgiving turkey, because it didn't taste & look like deli sliced turkey, which I always appreciate a real turkey sandwich. Both sandwiches came with a dill pickle spear as well. And they brought our sandwiches out to us in a nice to-go box with also bringing us paper plates & napkins. As for their prices, VERY reasonable, considering the quality of food we received as well as the presentation. They also do a small breakfast selection & even sell some of their homemade breads. Don't pass this place by if you're looking for a nice lunch, breakfast or just a cup of coffee (& they even have some of the fancier coffee options too!) becuase you won't be disappointed!

I was pleasantly surprised that the Poe theme is clever and subtle rather than overly cheesy. The décor has more of an antique bookstore feel, with fun Poe inspired names throughout the menu. Despite the theme, there's nothing dark or dreary about this place. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the service was prompt. Our waiter was friendly and had some great recommendations. The soup sampler was easily the highlight for me. I've never seen anything like it before! I tried the baja chicken enchilada, mushroom with brie cheese, beef chili with beans, and the special of the month potato curry. I ranked them from favorite to least favorite, but honestly, everything was delicious in its own way. My drink and sandwich with a side of potato salad was very tasty! I finished the whole thing! If you're a Poe fan, the witty menu names will definitely make you smile. The food is good, portions are satisfying, and the prices are reasonable. I'd absolutely come back if I'm ever in the area again to try more of the menu.

Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of the building, the upstairs seating area is only accessible by stairs. Quaint, charming café that serves lunchtime treats, coffee, and pastries. The hot cocoa is divine! I really like the literary/"dark academia" vibes and decor, as well as the many cute birdie knick-knacks roosting about the space. Service was friendly and unrushed, I felt free to linger and enjoy at my leisure. I will make it a point to stop in here whenever I pass through Port Huron! I dropped in during the week and there was zero-wait for a table, although I imagine the place probably bustles on weekends!
