We were in area for Mothers Day and my crew wanted ice cream. Found this place on yelp. Super fun shop. Imagine they are crazy busy on weekends and summer. Line moved quick. Nice signage to explain menu choices. You order at ice cream counter and then move to coffee counter where you can order drinks or just pay. Indoor and outdoor seating. Seems connected to a church. Bathrooms beautiful and many places to sit from high tops to couches to tables inside to picnic tables outside. They are known for their life cream tacos so we tried 2 which were ig enough to split. We ordered the Dirt Road and Coffee Toffee Crunch. Apparently they are $7 on taco Tuesdays ;). Super delicious and high quality ice cream. We also ordered a pour over with cream. They forgot the cream but with ice cream I decided I didn't need it. Pour overs take a bit but then even longer bc they were so busy. So the timing of it with ice cream was off and I wish I hadn't ordered it. No way to get seating and then be called back so I just stood there while my family dug into tacos. This place has thee best, homemade ice cream and the flavor choices are equally amazing. I had lemon bar cheesecake and carrot cake, each were so flavorful and lots of "bits" in them. A single is actually 2 scoops, offering a chance to try 2 flavors; a double is 3 scoops and the young man informed me, "You get 2 scoops of whichever flavor you want more of." I asked him to give me "equal portions of both." My sister had S'mores which while tasty was sweeter than expected, I believe due to base ice cream flavor was marshmallow. The butter pecan was, "very good but could've had more pecans in it." But we also Love pecans so too many isn't really enough for us, lol! We also enjoyed a latte with ice cream, we got decaf and they were wonderful together. The layout of the business is big, with big tent outside a picnic table seating, indoor seating for about 20-30 people to right as you enter and in the back a few random tables. The staff were very pleasant and service oriented, greeting customers upon entering and giving some special attention to the younger customers making them very happy! Prices were $$ for ample servings, depending on your love of ice cream 2-3 people could share a double. Plus due to the high quality + amount of ingredients it can be rich/ indulgent and your tummy will appreciate that you shared. Yum! I was craving ice cream with hot fudge and came across Milkhouse Cafe on Yelp. This place is more than just your average ice cream place. They also have speciality coffees and shopping area. In fact, they are in the middle of a remodel that will include a brick oven for pizza. Next time I'm in town I want to go back and check the place out better. One of my favorite ice cream brands is served here - Ashby's. With so many choices it wasn't easy, but I decided on a two scoop sundae with Pot Hole and Cool Mint Cookie topped with hot fudge and pecans. It totally hit the spot and the price did too. For under $4 I got the deliciousness pictured below and I enjoyed every bite. One of the things I found most unique about this place is they served my ice cream in a glass dish with a metal spoon. This was pretty impressive and make the experience more enjoyable. Looking forward to going here again. Maybe next time I will have pizza first! read more

We are from the Sterling Heights area, we were traveling up to Port Huron to go check out the lighthouse and decided to stop for some ice cream after we ate at Casey's sub shop. We are so glad that we did end up stopping at your house café the portion size was unbelievable for the price and both of our desserts were fantastic. They had a large tent set up Outside because of the whole Covid situation. But even with a tent up it looked really nice and set off a nice atmosphere. Oh em gee. This is the kind of ice cream place that is so "Pure Michigan" you cant pass by without stopping. Not only is their ice cream delicious, creamy, and sweet (everything that ice cream should be), the unique offerings made it super difficult to choose. I ended up eating more ice cream than I normally do just because I needed more of a taste of a couple flavors I sampled. The employees are friendly and the back story of this place makes it an even better atmosphere. I went for the Mackinac Fudge and the Michigan Pothole. Both were delicious as were the other flavors I tasted and my companions ate. We're all fans now. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area for another day trip. read more

We did the pigpen challenge! One of the employees sat with us while we did the challenge and he was amazing! He played theme music and cheered us on. The ice cream was amazing and the whole experience was great! I come home every year for vacation I will be returning to this place. It should be on everyone's list of favorites! The ice cream flavor variety was great and the different names of the ice creams fit with the Michigan state. All the staff was super friendly and the store was clean. Cute dairy farm turned ice cream shop with lots of great flavor options. My favorite flavor was blueberry pie by far and blue moon was a close second. The portion sizes are huge so the best option would be to get kids scoop for a dollar so that way you can get two or three scoops to try different flavors for under $3! It had lots of seating areas both inside and out so it can accommodate bigger groups as well. The ladies that were working inside were very patient with indecisive kids and adults alike. Lots of parking. Nice crowd. Saw a family of six go in at 8:58p and they were greeted with smiles despite a posted closing time of 9p. Open on hot days and cool nights.
