Jay was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! We talked with quite a few other DJ's and some of them would have been cheaper but the money was well spent to have Jay! We had to change our date due to unforseen circumstances and luckily he was also available on our new date and didn't punish us for moving the date! We were so grateful for his kindness and understanding during a very stressful time. He also kept checking in as we got closer to the wedding and kept us on track with all the decisions we had to make like what our first dance song would be. He was even able to send us shorter versions of the songs so we could practice to the same version of the song that we'd be dancing to on the big day! He's so professional and on top of it. On the day of, he kept the party moving but followed our outline for the night, only varying from it after he'd clear it with us and always in the interest of keeping everyone having as much fun as possible. The equipment he brought was top notch and there weren't any problems at all. He did the sound for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and was able to do all three seamlessly even though they were in three different locations. He showed up early and set up in plenty of time which really helped with my nerves! I would recommend Jay to anyone who has any sort of event coming up that needs music with the added bonus of someone who will keep the whole night on track in terms of timing! As I was conducting most of my wedding planning long-distance, I was understandably nervous about the quality of the people and services I would be receiving for my Estes Park wedding. And knowing that a DJ can make or break the atmosphere of your reception, this was probably the one thing I was most nervous about! I really don't know why I was so worried: Jay's advice, ideas, expertise, and professionalism truly put me at-ease. He was excellent at returning emails and phone calls, providing ideas for reception activities, and was kind enough on more than one occasion to give me a call out-of-the-blue to check up on my planning and to see if I had any lingering questions. On the day of the wedding, he was pivotal in moving the event along (without being intrusive or "taking over the show" -- a BIG bonus!) and providing just the right atmosphere for the reception. I had a small wedding of about 45 people, and it was just as much fun had there been 145. He was even able to dig up some Russian folk music on request so my husband's family (a family of Russian dancers) could do a Russian Line Dance! It's also worth noting that, again, as an out-of-town bride I had a little bit of sticker shock when I began comparing area DJs. Jay is quick to respond, whether that is email or via phone. He is super flexible and even took a special request for our first dance song and made it happen. Jay was beyond helpful in every way with all of our wedding needs for our July 17th wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park, CO! My husband Jacob and I booked Jay after a few minutes of meeting him! He has a charisma that is charming and inviting which is exactly what a couple is looking for when they have so many guests to entertain. Jay worked with Jake and I closely so the music for our wedding was exactly what we wanted. It was tailored to our preferences and also had plenty of great classics so my aunts, uncles, and grandparents felt comfortable enough to get up and shake it! Jay was the DJ for my wedding at Della Terra in Estes Park on July 13, and he was amazing! It ended up pouring rain, so they had to set up for an indoor ceremony at the last minute which cut our time line down by about 45 minutes. He was calm and collected, and made me feel calm. He suggested things that we could cut (i.e. Anniversary Dance) in order to save time, and he approached me about the time line of the reception in a way that put me at ease, and I had full confidence that everything would run smoothly. Everything about the reception exceeded my expectations...he takes care of everything and thinks ahead so you don't have to. Leading up the wedding, he was always available either via email or skype, and his professionalism is wonderful. He was a bit more expensive than other DJs I researched, but, as they say, you get what you pay for! I would highly recommend him for any function. My husband and I were married July 2013 in Estes Park and Jay was our DJ. There is so much to say about the experience Jay provided I will just give the highlights. Jay made the planning process as easy as possible and accommodated to every need this crazy bride had. Simply put, Jay made our wedding the greatest day of our lives! After many hours of research we chose Jay to be our music provider / DJ. He was the first "vendor" we selected, because of this Jay guided us through the process of putting together the rest of the pieces. I can't possibly express enough how impressed I was with Jay's services. Our wedding was one of the wedding that was scheduled for Estes Park, CO the weekend the flooding started- so pretty much everything was cancelled the day before and we scrambled to re plan an entire wedding in a matter of hours. Jay did an amazing job DJing our wedding. I have a very Type A personality and I appreciated how on top of everything Jay was. He was always the one to reach out to us with questions about the wedding, he was very available for meetings, and he made doubly sure to get all the details right. What really impressed us, though, was how professional Jay was during our wedding and reception. We had provided him with a list of a few "Do Not Play" songs and when my fiancee's mom and aunts specifically requested one of them for sentimental reasons, he politely said he would have to check with us first and then asked what we wanted to do before playing it. Hiring Jay Kacik to be our DJ was one of the best decisions we could have made. Jay was extremely helpful during the planning process and really helped us focus some of the details of our ceremony. For example, Jay helped us with some excellent music selections for the mother-son dance. Jay only charges you for performance time so there are now hidden travel fees or set up costs for you to worry about. He did a great job of not only being a DJ but also the MC for our reception. He kept the resort on task with making sure that things were happening quickly and smoothly. The music he played was an appropriate blend of classics and new hits. Jay was very nice and super personable! For the ceremony, he worked very well with the venue's staff to keep everything on que. When introducing the wedding party to our friends and family, he pronounced all of their last names and our last name correctly (very difficult names). Months before the wedding, he asked about people who planned on making toasts, but when the time came, he went above and beyond and still went around and asked if anyone else wanted to make a toast so he could make sure they had the time to. The uplighting that he provides was perfect for our venue! It really made the venue a different place for our reception. I would highly reccomend using Jay as your DJ for any wedding! Jay did all of the music for my ceremony and reception, and was fantastic to work with from start to finish. He was very accomodating of all of my requests (and my mother's requests) for music and made sure that everyone was entertained throughout the evening.
