I then drove one minute away to another mechanic who inspected the car immediately and diagnosed the issue in under 10 seconds it was simply a broken belt. No customer deserves to be mocked or treated like a nuisance when they're worried about their vehicle. Extremely unprofessional. The summary is, they are trustworthy…read more I put my Volvo XC60 in for service last November including timing belt replacement. Early this year, car broke down and towed to Artarmon Motorserve. It was there for a very long time (which was frustrating) but full credit where it's due. They spent a lot of time exploring the issue, trying to solve the problem and repair the engine before concluding a new engine was required (seems the timing belt slipped causing irreparable damage). They kept me appraised along the way. They took responsibility for the whole thing including the diesel particulate filter which clogged up after the new engine was put in. It didn't cost me anything - repair warranty covered the lot. I'm not a mechanic - they could have told me it was a new thing and I wouldn't have known. They were dead honest. The manager, Bryce, was absolutely terrific. I could not commend him more highly alongside his team who are nothing but cheerful and helpful. They have secured my business for years to come.

Despite all this, I continue to fill up in Mortlake because the service is exceptional. A nostalgic atmosphere greets you as you drive up to the petrol pump. There's no need to get out of your car because a friendly gentlemen will be there before you can open the door, asking how your day has been, and how many liters you need, before filling it up himself. Sometimes it's worth paying a few extra cents for exceptional, old-fashioned service!
